I chose the chili relleno stuffed with pulled chicken and cheese topped w/ Hatch chili sauce, and a chicken enchilada covered with their Chicka, Chicka, Boom, Boom sauce. This was served with a generous helping of choice of rice and choice of beans. The relleno was one of the best I've ever had, Enchilada was very tasty, and very full of chicken with the right amount of cheese. The chips are very good and non greasy. The reason for the 2 star was the bartender, the guy with the lighter colored beard, that was working my half of the bar. The guy with the darker beard he was great and seemed in a great mood and wanted to help people. I went there for dinner one night by my self and didn't want to take up a four top table and I had never been here before. As soon as I ordered a water the guy was like what ever. I guess you are supposed to get your own chips and hot sauce at the bar bc after about 10 min I finally ask for some. Then finally I had to ask to order something to eat. I am not for sure if the guy was having a bad day or what but he seemed fine to mix a tall vodka and something for his buddy to go. I did order the fajitas and they were good. I was disappointed with this location. I am a fan of the location in Uptown but this one let me down. The food was bland and the drinks felt like they had no alcohol in them. I initially ordered then tacos but the chicken tasted really weird so I sent it back and got the deluxe quesadilla instead. They have a queso cart you can help yourself to during happy hour which is awesome. The frozen margaritas are a good call. We like sitting at the bar most of the time as the service is often faster and more lively. However, I highly recommend not sitting near the service well. The servers and bar tender on multiple occasions (usually the same girls as we go on the same night) talk a lot of negative there. It ruins the experience and is super inappropriate; especially when the male manager gets in on it. This location is great, just sit on the opposite side of the bar than the well. read more

When we got home I realized they forgot a small side order. I called and spoke to the Manager David, he is was so friendly and apologetic. He made right on our side order and then some. My multiple experiences here have all been mediocre at best... I have ordered the chicken and spinach enchiladas, and the chicken was barely spiced. Our server at the time was very accommodating when I asked for a different level of spice in my salsa, but his performance fell flat when he failed to offer us refills and only stopped by our table twice (once for drinks, and another time to give us food...no refill checkups). I had to flag down someone else to ask for our check. Another time, I ordered veggie enchiladas and specifically asked for no jalapenos. The server was accommodating, but failed to mention that there were serrano peppers inside the enchiladas. If someone doesn't want jalapenos, I don't think it's a far stretch to assume they probably don't want serranos either. Maybe that's just me. There's nothing wrong with the food flavor and the drinks the bartender makes are excellent, with a great selection of imported beers. Just...the service isn't that great. read more

Awful food, Nachos were overdone and dry. Quesidillas had hardly any seasoning and were bland. We were served a scotch and water that tasted like pure water. We went there for dinner today. There were 7 of us. Five of us got our meals while the other two just sat...and waited...and waited. We had to tell the others to go ahead and eat without us. We didn't want their food to get cold. Then we continued to wait. The manager stopped by to say they were sorry, but who cares? He offered us some tortillas. Lol. By the time we got our meals, everyone else was nearly finished. The rest of the service was fair, but nothing impressive at all. We won't be going back, but I guess if you don't mind watching the rest of your table eat, you might enjoy this place. Sad because we used to love it there. read more

OK, food poisoning, even a light case, is never good for a review. But that's the way it was. It was my first time here, and I was the first one in the door for lunch, which I think was the problem. I suspect something in the salsa ingredients; it was extremely cold, as if refrigerated since the night before. I went with cheese and onions enchiladas in the Tex-Mex chile sauce. It was pretty tasty, good sauce but not a lot of meat in it, fresh onions sprinkled over the top (great), no sign of onions actually in the enchilada. Accompanying beans and rice were good, above average but not the best I've had. I would try this place again if there were not so many other Tex-Mex options around, the nearest one literally only a 1 minute walk. Try it if you like, but come late. read more

Chuy's is our favorite Mexican restaurant, hands-down. Their salsa is fresh and chunky, with just enough of a kick. The creamy jalepeno sauce is divine on their homemade tortillas or chips. Heck, I'd almost drink it by itself. But... that wouldn't leave room for the New Mexican Martini. Holy cow, if you only have one alcoholic drink in your life, it should be this one. Spicy, tart, and comes in a big shaker for pour your own refills. I love me some enchiladas. The Chuy's Special or the Chicka-Chicka-Boom-Boom enchiladas are good enough to slap yo momma. Or at least bring her with you for dinner. I highly recommend Chuy's, especially if you aren't afraid of loud music and you're familiar with lettuce arrangments as garnish. read more

For a chain restaurant, this is probably one of the best Tex-mex / Mexican joints in the metroplex. The bar service at this location is always prompt and friendly. The beef queso is freaking awesome to go along with your chips, and point to pretty much any item on the menu and you're likely to enjoy it. Personal favorites are the beef enchilada platter or the steak nachos to share with my wife. I'm sure there are more authentic (and tastier) independent Tex-mex restaurants in the area, but we're quite happy having found this one - not being the adventurous types. Very disappointed. I went to this location with my friend for her 21st birthday. We let the waitress know that it was her birthday and the waitress replied rudely "ok?". We asked for creamy jalapeño and she said rudely I mean "it could be ten minutes or it could be an hour". We all got margaritas and she proceeded to ID my friend's mom who is clearly over 21. I wish I could pay the staff to be my personal chef at home! The meals are great Tex-Mex and you will not be able to get this kind of Tex-Mex anywhere in the world except for Texas (Trust me, I tried at at place called Texas in Finland). You will be the most surprised by their margaritas the size of your face and the Tres Leches dessert. Order anything on the menu and you will eat it and feel a little guilty, but happy. Me and my coworker visited chuys yesterday and if I'm not mistaken our servers name was Haley. SHE WAS AMAZING!!! Me and my coworker are also servers so we know what it's like to be busy and that food can take a minute to get out. Haley had gotten, what looked like, triple sat and yet still seemed super happy and attentive with each table. My drink never got low and the chips stayed filled! Like I said they were pretty busy so understandably our food took some time coming out but we weren't mad at all being that we totally understand. Well our server wasn't having it and said that the wait time was totally unacceptable and got us a manager who then took care of our meal. The crazy part was we weren't mad AT ALL if anything we were confused! Our server just cared that much that she took it upon her self to do that! Funny story, I was going to go the Chuy's on McKinney and was driving around looking for a parking space and accidently ran into their new location in Plano. Plenty of parking. (see what I did there) Man it's about time these guys decided that is was a good idea to open another Chuy's in this town. This Chuy's is shiny and new with all the familiar traits of what makes a Chuy's a Chuy's. The wooden fish hanging over the bar, a room with hub caps covering a ceiling, a million badly painted portraits of someone's family and of course an Elvis memorial booth. Yeah this is a Chuy's alright... and just as I suspected the waiter suggested the Creamy Jalapeño Dressing. For years I always believed that this substance was nothing more then a mind controlling elixir so delicious it would cause a man to drive to the far end of Plano when there's a Chuy's less then a mile from his house. Did you know that there's actually a Fan base on Facebook for this stuff, that's just kind of weird. So as I sat there sipping on my third dish of Creamy Jalapeño Dressing looking at all the people who live in Frisco heading home on 75 because they can't afford the North Dallas Toll Road because of the economy, I choked on my straw as it dawned on me! ... Chuy's is trying to take over the world! Quick go get a map of the DFW metroplex! Okay the first Chuy's is right off 75 off of Knox and Henderson, right? Do you know how many people commute into and out of Downtown Dallas everyday? No seriously, I don't know but it's a bunch. How many times a week do you said to yourself "I'll just stop by and grab a Swrill and Chuychanga with Creamy Jalapeño Dressing and let the traffic die down". Seven? Eight times a week? Then they "so happen" to open their new Chuy's just north of The George Bush turnpike, coincidence? I think not! I'm willing to bet we are going to see Chuy's spring up in oh I don't know Arlington off of 35 maybe? Frisco where it's a State law now that if you own a restaurant, you have to open one in Frisco... Bing, bang, bong! Next thing you know we all have the Creamy Jalapeño Dressing running all through our veins and all of a sudden some Man In Black Big Brother Guy hits some sort of high electronic frequency that causes us to wake up every morning and run the capitalistic rat race for big brother, if we want to or not... excuse me a black van with tinted windows just pulled up there someone at the door... Ok, let me explain 2 stars. First, the good news. The food was good. I had the chicken fajitas and they were very good. I think they are just as good as chili's fajitas, though. The queso is excellent, so definitely try it if you are there. Several other people had the southwestern enchiladas and they said they were very good as well. Now the bad news, I came for a friend's birthday for dinner. Our party of 9 waited 40 minutes for a table after being told it was a 20-30 minute wait. Now, I can excuse the long wait. They had a party of 30 that was taking up a lot of room and which makes waiting for the large table understandable. Once we got to our table, things started to look better. Our waiter came and took our drink order. Within a few minutes, we had our drinks and the waiter took our order. That is when I ordered the queso as an appetizer. As the party talked and enjoyed each other's company, I ended up wondering when my queso was going to arrive. After about 15 minutes I was finally able to flag down the waiter and ask him about it. The look on his face said he completely forgot. He ran to the back and not 30 seconds later, our food arrived. Finally after our food had be served, he came back with the queso. He said that it wouldn't be on the bill, which sort of made up for it, but I was still upset that I had to wait that long for something I ordered as an appetizer. I look to my left and there is no plate in front of my girlfriend, however. I ask her where her food is and she said they put the wrong sauce on her enchiladas. The have a choice of 5 different sauces to put on their enchiladas, so I doubt that it's a rare occurrence that people choose different sauces to put on their food. It was another 10 minutes before she got her food. In short, the food, very good... When it's correct and timely. The service, awful. I'm hoping that it was just the waiter and a crazy night since they were so busy. I may try it again if I'm in the area, but I will be asking for a different waiter for sure. read more

I was served someone else's plate of food. The MANAGER removed the dish from my table and served it to another table. Disgusting! I'm assuming the plate I was served had also been on some else's table. Manager did nothing when I expressed my issues. I told the waitress I was already YELPING about it and then another manager showed up and compted my bill. I was horrified, I still think the manager should have told the person who was served the dish that sat in front of me that I have had the flu all week. read more

I never liked to Chuy's too much when I lived in Austin but now that I'm not there anymore, I favor it a bit more over other Tex-Mex places in DFW. This location is about the same as others, same menu, same drinks, all-u-can eat help yourself chips and salsa. However, being on a restaurant strip reduces your cool factor. Especially when the dinner table wait is over 1.5 hours on the weekend. I usually wouldn't mind since that just gives us more time to down some Texas Martinis and chips/salsa, but not so cool when I'm with the parents. They are more the Taco Bueno or any Mexican restaurant that's close to home type of people. Needless to say the long wait made my parents uneasy, thus making me uneasy, and almost ruined dinner - something even the Texas Martinis couldn't fix. read more

Chuy's on 75 gets 5 stars for the service, the atmosphere, and the food. Our server's name was Nash and he was attentive, funny and made our experience at Chuy's that much more awesome. You're one of the funniest and most relatable servers I've ever come across and you did a great job! I haven't been to a Tex-Mex restaurant in over a year after spending a year abroad and I had a terrible craving for some gooey good ole' queso. Their beef queso hit just the spot as I devoured 2 baskets of their tortilla chips with just one other girlfriend. My girl friend ordered the Chicka-Chicka Boom-Boom and I ordered the Chuy's Lite Plate. All I can say about the Chicka-Chicka Boom-Boom is that the serving size is HUGE. When it came out hot and steamy, my eyes nearly bulged out of my eye sockets because of the sheer serving size. It looked like two neatly rolled enchiladas smothered, and I mean smothered, in cheese and hot sauce. As for the Chuy's Lite Plate, it was the perfect portion size for me since I can't stomach a lot of food. It came with one crunchy beef taco topped off with a hefty amount of tomatoes and lettuce. On the side there was a generous scoop of guacamole and a small bowl of chili queso. Oh sweet Tex-Mex, I have missed you so much. Finally being able to finally nom on Tex-Mex after being jaded by fake Tex-Mex while abroad was one of the exciting moments of my life. I am definitely a fan of Chuy's and it was the perfect experience to reinstate my Texas palate after being away from the states for so long. read more

I've been to this chuy's many times. The nacho car and tortilla soup are my favorite. However, tonight, my server was utterly awful. For one, refills just were not a thing? My Diet Coke was bone dry for my whole meal. Second, I asked for no tortilla strips, and my server called me "needy" when setting down my food?? AND THEN!! It took 20 minutes of sitting there, cards on table, for our server to even look our way to drop off our tabs. And then he proceeded to sass us because was wanted to be separate. Not together.
