    Carne Asada
    John J.

Dinner on a Tuesday. Love the ambiance and excellent service we received. Chips and salsa were fresh and delicious as usual. Started with guacamole but it was too mushy and not the flavor we remembered. We decided to finally try some different entrees from our usual favorites. Unfortunately these weren't the same quality as the entrees we are used to. Both entrees were a little cool like they had been sitting. The Suiza Enchiladas were ok but a bit bland. The Carne Asada my friends have raved to me about was not up to par. The meat was cooked medium vs requested medium rare and was chewy with gristle in 3 of the slices. Maybe Tuesday was an off night.

I've been side-eyeing this place since it opened and finally made it in today... and okayyy, I see you. Very cute, modern, "I'm a little fancy but still approachable" kind of vibe. The type of place where you accidentally order more than you planned because everything sounds so good. Chips? Meh for me. My friend? Obsessed. So clearly, I'm the problem Salsa situation was interesting--the orange one looks like it's about to ruin your life, but plot twist... it's actually sweeter than the red one. We were confused. My friend had to order the real spicy salsa for an extra $2, and THAT one came to fight She handled it like nothing... meanwhile I was like "I'll just watch from here." Chicken tortilla soup? Ohhh she's the moment. Warm, comforting, no notes. I would come back just for that. Ordered the birria taco too--very good, but I got full real quick (that soup did its job), so it became a to-go situation. The cilantro lime rice was okay... not life-changing. My friend's Spanish rice with her bacon-wrapped camarones though? She said it was better, so now I have food envy. Price-wise--yeah, it's higher than your usual Mexican spot, but you're paying for the vibe, the plating, the whole experience The menu isn't huge, but everything sounds so good it's honestly dangerous. Would I come back? Yes. Would I order the soup again? Immediately. Would I pretend I can handle spicy next time? Absolutely not

    Enchiladas De Mole

If you're craving deeply flavorful, house-made mole poblano, the Enchiladas de Mole at Sueño are a standout choice that captures the essence of what makes this modern Mexican spot in Richardson so special. They take tender chicken enchiladas and generously blanket them in a rich, complex mole sauce that's prepared fresh each morning with the traditional ritual of toasting, grinding, and simmering spices, chiles, nuts, and chocolate. The result is a sauce that's bold yet balanced--savory and earthy with subtle sweetness, a gentle heat, and layers of depth that coat the soft corn tortillas and juicy shredded chicken beautifully. It's served alongside black beans (frijoles negros) and rice, creating a satisfying plate that's comforting and elevated at the same time. Many diners describe it as mouthwatering, excellent, and one of the best takes on chicken mole enchiladas around, with the sauce often stealing the show for its authenticity and flavor harmony. At around $20, it's a solid value for the quality and portion. The restaurant itself nails that perfect blend of modern Tex-Mex and authentic Mexican cuisine in a warm, inviting atmosphere. The space feels trendy yet welcoming--dim lighting at dinner for a cozy vibe or bright and airy during brunch--with friendly, attentive service that makes you feel like family. Reviewers consistently rave about how the staff is knowledgeable, helpful with suggestions, and genuinely happy to serve. Cocktails are a highlight (fresh, creative, and perfectly paired with the food), and the overall menu shines with other standouts like birria stacked enchiladas, tacos de camaron, short rib tacos, fajitas, and coastal-inspired dishes, but the mole enchiladas remain a classic favorite for those seeking traditional depth with a polished twist.

Came here to celebrate our friends birthday and enjoyed the food. The tamarind margarita is a must have, it was absolutely delicious. Their ceviche and aguachile were both delicious. The seafood dishes were delicious and the fish were cooked perfectly. Service was good and they an accommodate large groups but space is limited and you're literally packed in like sardines. They sat un by a wall display of tequila bottles and we kept hitting the display because the table was pushed so far back.

It's a good place to visit. I come once a year when I visit family. However unlike California, when we say no rice, they won't let you sub for something else. For $26 salmon, see my photo, it's a little sad. Great salsa. Chips are ok for me. You also have to valet if you want parking right in front which seems silly. Overall, worth a try.

The inside of the restaurant was clean and had cute decor. The tables had little lamps on them. Loved their chicken tortilla soup. It had so much flavor and the chicken was so tender. The steak fajitas were a let down. Meat lacked seasoning. I still want to go back and try other things. Service was outstanding. Their brunch menu looks delicious!

We had an incredible night at the bar at Sueño in Richardson. Marco and his bar team absolutely crushed it, they all just exude genuine hospitality with great energy, and perfect pacing all night. Every drink we had was spot on, we just had to tell them what flavors we liked and they took over and nailed it. The food matched the drinks super fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented (the Tacos de Camarón and Aguachile de Camarón were standouts). It's rare to find a spot that nails both the cocktails and the food, but Sueño does exactly that. You can tell they care about quality and service from top to bottom. Highly recommend grabbing a seat at the bar and you'll be well taken care of.

We were hoping to find a gem for my husband's 30th birthday and Sueno more than delivered! You HAVE to come here if you love craft fresh fruit cocktails and fresh, beautifully plated Mexican food. Our drinks were strong but well balanced and sweet like I like it. The best part of our experience was our server, Jasmine. She was the sweetest and made our day so much special - she gave me a sample of the soup I ended up getting- so scrumptious, checked on us often (all the staff were great too) and she brought out a yummy tres leches cake. I can't wait to come back and try more drinks! The inside is such a vibe! I wish this family business the best success. I heard they are opening a new location in university park and people love this place bc when we left it was packed! So get in here while you can!

There are a thousand tex-mex spots in Dallas to go to, so you can definitely skip this one. The biggest issue here is the service. Our server was nice, but it was a full 15 mins before he even showed up at our table to say hi and take drink orders (we were seated right at 7:30, so it ended up being pretty easy to keep track of how long everything took). Another ten mins went by before we were able to ask our waiter again about our drinks. They came another 5 mins after that (30 mins after sitting down) with our appetizers. He took our food order then came back 10 mins after that to ask my friend what he had ordered because he forgot. Another 15 mins later our food arrived (about an hour after sitting down). The food itself was just fine. The queso appetizer had that weird gloopy cornstarch texture (see pic). The guacamole was just guacamole. Both lacked salt. My enchiladas were fine. The cheese on top had that weird plastic texture of fake cheese (see pic). The reason I'm giving 2 stars instead of just 1 is because my friends really liked their food: birria tacos and seafood chili relleno. Shout out to the valet guy too. He was so nice and very fast and worked his butt off!

I was in town and meeting up with the cousins who frequent Sueno. I was pleasantly surprised by the setting and immediate service. Each server was so happy to be of assistance and made excellent suggestions. I had the shrimp tacos and also tried a birria taco. Both were really great and full of flavor. The highlights were the chips and salsa and churros. I've never had such delicious churros. Don't miss them. They also do a smoking Old Fashion that is impressive. If you're with an Old Fashion lover, get it just for the show! Also Christian came by at the end and was awesome!
