The food is amazingly fresh. They have entrees that are unique like the coconut shrimp tacos we got. The mango salsa really set off the flavors! My dining partner had a cheese stuffed chile relleno and it was next level. Everything about this place is excellent. The prices are very reasonable - and service attentive and friendly. Unfortunately we went on probably their first week being open, and with a party of ten, with a reservation. Almost every table was taken. Service was just slightly discombobulated. We got there at 6:30 PM and our food eventually showed up at 8:15 PM. The friend sitting next to didn't eat his tortilla soup because he didn't like the taste. Ok but not great, 3.5 rating. We were so excited to try this local spot, unfortunately we left a little disappointed. The chips and salsa/bean dip were really tasty. I ordered the enchilada plate (2) and they were very small in size, also they messed up my order but I didn't say anything (not a big deal but asked for no beans, extra rice). The flavor of the enchiladas were good, my favorite was the chicken with sour cream sauce. The beef fajitas were not that good, the meat looked a little off and the taste wasn't great. Open to returning and trying other items but do not recommend the beef fajitas. read more

This a nice, friendly, family-owned and operated restaurant. It isn't very large, but tables are spaced nicely, so one can have a pleasant conversation without disturbing other guests. Server comes to your table quickly, bringing menus and offering drinks. My husband and I dined there a number of times before his recent passing and certainly enjoyed a number of meals there. The food is great. The staff is great. So why the low rating? I'm a regular there - I go at least once a week and usually twice. I almost always bring a family member or a friend and the tab is typically about $65 each time. For months I've been ordering the happy hour margaritas - which are $6 - and those were tasty too. Last week I took my daughter there and I ordered happy hour margaritas, and was told that the happy hour ended at 6:00PM (it was 7:00PM when we arrived.) After the meal, I went home and checked their website and it said that happy hour was all day, every day (see attached screen shot of their website.) So I went back today and asked them if they would honor their website's prices, and they said no. So I walked out. I can afford the non-happy hour price of $9 and then some. I liked being a regular there. But there was a part of me that felt that until they update their website, they should honor the prices they advertise. Do they not understand that in Plano there's a Mexican restaurant on just about every corner? read more

This is my second visit to this location. I was there on June 26th. This time we were able to come together as a family and enjoy the ambiance, food, and fellowship with each other. Everybody enjoyed their meal. Salsa and chips and bean dip was phenomenal. My son had his usual Burger with modifications of ketchup and cheese only. From my memory, surprisingly he was not able to take the whole thing down this time. I think I ended up eating it as a leftover. My daughter had the tacos Al Carbon, My wife had the al alambre, And I ended up sampling the Victoria's pasta. Like I said, everything was great, especially the staff at attending to our every need. It was a week night so it was not super busy. I can remember the first time we went where it was crowded and there was a wait, but the wait was well worth the time that it took us to get in there. This is definitely a stop. I will make again, as there are many items on the menu that I am eager to try! Try! My first day back from Vacay and I was craving Tex Mex. None of my usual haunts seemed appealing at the time. Maybe residual " Hunters Malady" from the challenge of tracking down all that great food on Kauai. Dialing in the local Yelp,a newby poped up. A superfluous perusal of a couple of reviews indicated it may be a find. It was early afternoon about 3 and the place was empty. Never a good sign. We ordered and the food came out hot in a reasonable amount of time. The chips were good but the salsa was served in tiny plastic condiments to go cups? Not cool My Tex Mex plate was just ok. The chili concarne which makes or breaks the dish wasn't quite there. Obviously this mom and pop is trying. They opened last January and appear to be struggling somewhat. I should have looked closer at the reviews before coming. The high 4 and 5 Stars were given by folks with only 25 or so reviews. I'd wait on Alexanders. read more

They delivered on time, set it all up and all my guests loved the food... the chicken and beef enchiladas were superb and the beef tacos were so easy to assemble. What a pleasant surprise. We went to Hirsch's Meat Market to pick up a prime rib roast for Christmas dinner, and stopped by Alexander's for lunch. It is not a pretentious place, but small and warm. We were seated promptly, ordered guacamole for an appetizer, then chile rellenos for the main course. The chile relleno is the star of the show. You have your choice of three fillings, but cheese was our choice. It comes with the classic ranchero sauce, not some of the weird toppings I have seen at some restaurants. The chile was loaded with cheese, and cooked just right. The only downside to the meal was the guacamole. It was too salty. We like it salty, but this was a little much. It was devoured anyway, but just a word of warning to those who don't like salty food. The service was attentive; the lady pleasant. Bottom line - we will be back to explore other items on the menu. We went to Alexander's for lunch today from the recommendation from neighbors on ND. TBH, I'm kind of burnt out on the eateries I frequent and I wanted to try something new and local. Places I like, PB don't like, so I had to choose from Mexican, Italian and seafood and I chose Alexander's to try and I'm glad I did and my neighbors were right. It's a small, cozy eatery adjacent left from Eddy's Pizza. We were greeted by Claudia(hostess/server). She is very friendly and welcoming. We started out with 3 different kinds of salsa and chips and they were delicious. We ordered Queso blanco and guacamole and shrimp tacos(comes with refried beans and rice)and shrimp quesadilla. They were right amount of food and very tasty. We had room for desserts, so we ordered Tres Leche cake and Sopapilla with ice cream. I got coffee with my cake. They were so delicious. This is a small neighborhood joint in Plano. (My favorite kind of place) Chips were fresh and salsa on point. Nice spice level. Bean dip could be sold by the quart. House margarita was tasty. The chicken enchiladas with the poblano cream sauce were fantastic. Lunch menu under $10 bucks. Several choices on sauce, choose poblano. I have been wanting to try Alexander's after seeing good reviews from Nextdoor neighbors. It is not the easy place to find, but conveniently located on 15th St & Custer in strip center on N. E. quadrant. Think Firestone store, Eddies Pizza, and Fred's famous steak and cheese! Though Mexican cuisine is their focus, they have many Tex Mex choices on the menu. I typically like meat dishes, and very pleased with the selections. Chips, salsa and bean dip were special. Had the Carne A La Tampiquena, and could not have been more pleased. Grilled sirloin (I asked and got medium rare), grilled smoked sausage, Mexican rice, charro beans, avocado slices, and a cheese soft taco. The size was such that I took home half of the order, which made the $19 price even more reasonable. Service was spot on. Their menu is unique, varied with many Mexican and Tex Mex selections. Will be on my favorites list, as there are a number of other dishes I will try. May be hard to top the one I had! Give Alexander's a try as they are a local family owned business offering something for every one, including Lunch Specials and Happy Hour drinks. Corona's were $4, house marg $5.50, skinny marg $7, entrees were $15 and under and everything was homemade and authentic. We Just had the best brisket tacos, crispy beef tacos, and brisket enchiladas!! It's so much better than the usual Tex-Mex, from the rice & beans, the taco meat & brisket, to the salsa & queso. It was our first time there and we'll definitely go back weekly. Inside is actually really nice and nothing like I was expecting. They have a full bar and it felt like I was on vacation somewhere in Mexico. You could tell the staff was dedicated and genuinely nice, which you rarely see anymore. This is a great restaurant for our neighborhood, and at the least, on occasion go help support..one delicious bite at a time. read more
