I love me some chuys. Margaritas are bomb! Food is great tex mex

Came for the patio and it was better than most in the Southlake / Grapevine area although it is really just overlooking the parking lot and 114. Fajitas were good, they actually made sure the veggies were sautéed and not totally raw when they came out. Chips and guacamole were good and I would go back everyday for their salsa except for the fact that it is so dang spicy! It's like they take all the hot stuff out of the jalapeños and throw that in because there are barely any visible green pieces. House frozen margarita was so potent I could barely stand it and that is saying something but there some kind of frozen lemon drink that was fantastic. Service was really good as well. read more

The queso is outstanding and the place is super fun! But sadly, that's about all I can rave about. The margaritas are meh, the service is TERRIBLE, and you entree will always disappoint. The last time we went, it took 10 minutes after we were seated to be acknowledged. They messed up our order. They brought out our kids food 10-15 minutes AFTER the adult food, even though we ordered theirs off the appetizer menu. And queso came out last. So basically the meal was served in reverse, even though I told the waitress our kids were starving, hence the order of queso & an appetizer. We couldn't even get waters. It was the last time for sure, as this seems to be the normal at this location. read more

The food and service are terrible. Waited 30 minutes for a Togo order (called in order at 5:15, arrived 5:30 and gave up and left at 6pm. It's obvious this location has a seriously bad management issue. Staff cussing near customers, complaining, slow, Cook staff unable to do simple things like make a burrito etc If you like room temp or colder fajitas that taste like they were cooked 24 hours prior and extremely slow service then this place might be your thing. I usually love them, but when you give me back my same margarita 15 seconds after I complain that they messed it up, I am going to complain. I could tell that it was mine since everything about it was the same and it was still missing half of the salt. My coworker ordered the same drink and hers tasted fine. Pretty great experience at this location. Our server, Bruce, was a man of few words but must double as the Flash. Every single time I asked for something I would blink twice and he'd be there with it. Food was consistent as always. Impressive point, the GM was also everywhere at once - bussing tables, running requests. On point. The only reason I can't give a 5 were the complaining servers that clearly thought we couldn't hear or see them rolling their eyes and making comments. Too bad. Went out to finally get out of the house since we've been unable too recently. We came here to get, what we thought would be refreshing margaritas and some guacamole. We waited over 15 minutes to be greeted by the waiter and when we did the waiter made a comment that our waiter was still on break. Never got to meet our waiter. The margaritas were mediocre. They were super sugary and acidic with what seemed to be barely any tequila even though we asked for a floater. The guacamole had shredded lettuce in it. Who does that? It was impossible to scoop and when you got the first random bite of soggy lettuce it left your mind puzzled. We also asked for plates to share and it seems that they did not even clean them. Our share plates had food still on them when brought to the table. We sat outside and that's the only reason this place got 2 stars. The lighting, music, and overall ambiance was nice! Not sure if we will be coming back. read more

Good experience with a big group. Our server wasn't perfect but he was patient and attentive. The food was good, if somewhat corporate pre-prepared feeling (the fajita meet especially). All in all it's a decent place, maybe not particularly memorable but enjoyable. read more

This place rocks! If you are tired of Americanized "Mexican Food" you need to check this place out. It's much more authentic. I should know, the guy I was eating lunch with was from Mexico and he told me. LOL The chips are paper thin, crispy and yummy. The salsa had a nice bite to it. The food was excellent. We were in Chuy's withdrawals and are so excited to be able to do curbside pickup. Our Chuychangas were so fresh, hot, and crispy, with the sour cream and sauce in the side. Curbside even included Creamy Jalepeno Dip with our order, but I still ordered some extra, as it is the best dip EVER. Our order was also ready right on time, so we were eating in minutes. read more

Great service. Riley our server was a rockstar! Party of 13 with 6 kids, got all our orders right. Fresh chips and salsa, salsa is a little spicy be warned. We got two different house sauces for the chips. Queso is really good. Rice was very flavorful. Got my meal on the house when manager found out I graduated from nursing school. We love Chuy's in Dallas and Austin. This location is franchised, and it is awful. We've been seated next to the loudest table, where we couldn't even hear each other and we we were told by the manager that "they couldn't do anything." We've also been there after they opened after the quarantine and had equally-bad service. Ok, yeah, that's ridiculous. I would avoid this restaurant at all costs, and would go to any of the other Tex-Mex places in Southlake instead - Gloria's, Manny's, Mi Covina, Christina's, and place other than this franchised Chuys. And this is coming from somebody who loves s the real, non-franchised Chuy's. read more

We have always loved this location. We ordered door dash last night(cinco de mayo and taco Tuesday) so of course they were extremely busy. Our food took much longer than expected time, but it's a busy day. The manager contacted us and apologized and went above and beyond. Have only gone for Happy Hour and the free nacho bar. Cant beat the deal - $4.50 margarita and free nachos. The nacho bar is definitely worth the visit and we go weekly. Cheese is salty, meat and beans are good, chips and salsa is great! Service was good, except we have had to ask them to refill the items in the nacho bar every time since it always seems to be empty when we have visited. read more

Love, love Chuy's food! We always get queso with ground beef if we're not there during happy hour and get it from the nacho cart. The drinks are always tasty - normally I get their whiskey smash but they have a new Frose-rita which is Rose, tequila, strawberry purée and a touch of watermelon. It's my new fave! Not too sweet but really tasty! Some of our favorites are the ground beef soft tacos, chicken fajitas (sometimes we order extra chicken to take home), cheese Chile relleno and the chuychanga! Try the hatch Chile sauce - it's spicy but the flavor is so good. My husband also loves their enchiladas. We've never had a thing we haven't enjoyed. It's all so good. And the sopapillas for dessert are amazing too. So why only 4 stars?? Well the service was just ok - maybe we got spoiled when we lived in Tulsa and those servers hustle! And the bathroom was out of paper products leaving a few ladies in a pinch. Will we be back? Yes! The food is just that good. read more

Worst ever had to wait an hour and 30 min for a table. My tea never received a refill, while my mouth was on fire from the hot sauce. Finally got up went to the front and pour my self a cup of sweet tea, when I wanted un sweet. Our waiter never check to see if we need chips. Only brought out one white sauce for the five of us at the table. Our food took forever as well. Never will go back! read more

What are we waiting for since I see the empty tables from where I am standing and you are telling me 30 minutes. Absolutely disappointed! Our server advised us immediately upon walking up that her day sucks because they are so short staffed in the kitchen. I guess that should have been our clue even though I was shocked that something like that would have been said to a customer in the first place! Well 30+ minutes after ordering we advised our waitress that we were leaving (after watching large tables that arrived after us get their food) her response was .. Ok. Are you sure ? Do u want me to go get the manager all the while not really caring if we stayed or left .. Chuys you have some staff training/coaching to do. 10 minutes to be greater in the bar. The "waitress" in the pink cap was not friendly and more worried about making passes at her coworkers actually taking care of my needs. We want to love this Chuys but having a party of 5 seems to be a big problem for this restaurant to handle. Many times we come and they have a hard time seating us. The servers are a mixed bag from great to awful. Seems this place benefits from a great name and location but the poor service and setup will eventually catch up with them. For people who used to come 1-2x per month, we are done. I'll get chips and salsa and tacos elsewhere. read more

I wish that I could leave a review of how the Chuy's is incredible, how it's food is unparalleled in a town sparse with good Tex-Amex options. But the truth is that I have not had the opportunity to eat at this location because it is constantly busy. Usually when I arrive the average wait is 1hr-1.5hrs. I'm asked to wait patiently and told that reservations are not possible at this location. It astounding that I am just not able to eat here and shown the door every time i arrive because they simply cannot accommodate to the demand in town. I will never be able to eat here, nor should I want to. read more

We went after church on December 23. Allyson was our waitress and she was fantastic! I noticed when we were sat that she was sat 3 tables all at once and had 2 more that were just getting drinks. I ordered Fresh Oven Roasted Chicken which is under their House Specialty and got a small plastic container of shredded chicken with no rice, no tortillas, no bean. When my assistant called to check why it was like that, they claim that's how the order is. It is clear in their menu that it was not, they mess up and does not want to admit it. We love Chuy's!! The food is always so fresh and amazing!! Love their creamy jalapeño and the chips/queso after 4p daily. Food never disappoints. Great patio. The Southlake location has had changes in management the past few months and is just not the same. A few of the familiar staff are there and still on top of things however, many are new and just not friendly at all, aren't quick to seat guests or accommodating if you request the patio. We are hopeful things will improve. read more

Service was awful, bartender got our drinks wrong and my daughters drink was forgotten all together. They brought us two baskets of broken chips with our salsa. Whenever we asked for something it was forgotten or wrong. We found out the server was new so I cannot blame them fully but the only thing I can say was good was the queso which was why you got two stars. read more

This place is Awful, not sure why everyone is so crazy about this place. Sat at the bar on Sunday only one other person sitting at the bar. Took over 7 min to get 2 beers and another 15 for menus and tequila shots. Ordered food and waited and waited and waited meanwhile people sat after us got their food paid their bill and left, Still no food. Finally bartender comes over and says sorry yours sat in the window too long they are remaking it. Finally get food and it's the same thing that sat in the window too long only now microwaved to be heated up, and COLD. I know I will get killed by Texans but I love this place. I do not like the Tex Mex food here(I am from NY), this place has what I am used to. Not saying its right but it is what I like. Love the atmosphere, greatr drinks and good food. I am especially fond of the Fajitas and the Enchiladas. read more
