"Lazy and Bizarre" Wed night, about 8pm. Note this place closes at 9pm, so there was one hour before they close. Rolled in, noticed not too crowded. The reception person walks us to a table on the floor right next to a family of four, with two small kids. I have nothing against families, or kids, but all things being equal and considering COVID, I do prefer space. Noting there were several open booths literally 10 steps away from the table and from the family, I politely asked the reception person if we could have any one of the three open booths (two of the booths were used). Lol, she said "no, we are starting to shut down and this is the only place we have for you". I then just said "really, this booth is next to that table" She had already walked away crisply. So we walked away crisply. News flash to whoever owns this place - not a great practice to start shutting down 60 minutes before the close, and not a great policy to let a stupid customer like me have a booth that is less than 10 steps away. Went here for dinner the other night and really enjoyed my "The Elvis Presley Memorial Combo" and my drink of choice for the night, which I don't remember the name, but it had lots of Rum :) I really enjoyed eating my meal and of course the place is all touristy so kind of fun. My waitress was very nice and the food was very good. My drink was tasty even if it was made wrong both times I ordered it, or maybe it is the fact I didn't listen to Gordon Ramsey like I should "Never eat anywhere with pictures on the Menu". The photo of the drink shows 2 cherries in the drink and a slice of orange. First one came out with no Cherries at all and the waitress said they were out. Okay, I can deal with that. Second one came out with 1 cherry? Odd, I thought she had just told me they didn't have any and I didn't see the Cisco truck out back. So either the bartender missed it the first time and the waitress just tried to cover it up, or they found a random cherry somewhere. Yep I am complaining about a cherry. Is it a big deal, no not really as the food as always is very good and I enjoyed the meal. I just figure if you are going to have a picture try to make the item look like the picture. Been here several times, but last night service was horrible. After ordering we waited over a half hour without seeing our waitress and she finally breezed by saying "food should be out shortly". 10 minutes later, still no food, so we flagged down another server asking what was going on. A few minutes later our waitress came with our food with some lame excuse about the kitchen losing our ticket. Part of your job as a waitress is to make sure your table receives their food in a timely manner. After 10-15 minutes she should have been back checking with the kitchen to see what was going on. Total fail on her part. What I would assume was a manager came by and sort of apologized for the wait but gave the same dumb excuse. No offer to comp a meal or offer a discount. Service needs to be stepped up, both staff and management. read more

Stopped by for lunch yesterday and to escape from the early summer heat. We were seated right away and seated in a side room, the restaurant was busy on Saturday afternoon. Our waitress took our drink orders & brought their chips & salsa, their chips are so light & crispy thin, you eat a lot of them while waiting for your main dish. We also asked for side of their jalapeno ranch dip, which is so good! You could drink that stuff its addicting. Finally took our orders & our food came quickly despite how busy they were, we enjoyed a variety of food The Elvis Presley Memorial combo is huge 3 enchiladas plus a side of queso chips and a hard shell beef taco, a friend had a few soft tacos and also quesadilla their quesadilla is interesting it looks like soft tacos as its open & you load everything on, most come with all of the ingredients and already melted with loads of cheese on the inside. Our room was warm, I didn't see any vents in the room we were in & the room was busy. Chuy's isn't bad, their food is okay, I've had better, but fine on a Saturday & don't forget the jalapeno ranch dip, which you can also purchase extra to take home, which one of my friends did to enjoy with her family on this Memorial day holiday. read more

As watered down Mexican food goes, this place is not terrible. The food is akin to your typical Don Pablo's-the spicy isn't very, the beans are all pretty mediocre, and the margaritas are more frou frou that al-kee-hol. If you grew up going to Olive Garden, Red Lobster, Applebee's, and TGI Friday's, this will fit right into your suburbia Bingo Food Card. That isn't a slam on those joints, I mean I love a good half price appetizer just as much as the next cul de sac. It isn't bad and it certainly accommodates a large party of people. It just isn't as good as the more authentic and richly seasoned food at several restaurants that are readily available in Cincinnati. There are many options, and much like other Mexican chains, it is the same four ingredients arranged in different ways. So grab your taco, burrito, Chimichanga, Enchilada or what have you and enjoy. I was very disappointed with this location! I had the Chuy's in Austin Landing (Miamisburg) and it was amazing!! I was craving Chuys Fajitas one day after having them at Austin Landing and we came here because this location is closer. I was so disappointed, the fajitas here were awful! The tortillas tasted different and seemed like they have been saturated in flour. The outside was powdery. It was weird. It made the tortilla very dry. The chicken was just blah. I'm not sure what happened at this location but the food certainly isn't consistent between locations. The chips and dip were good. We always get the jalapeño ranch dip and salsa. The marg was also good. The rice and beans just seemed old. Needless to say, I did not like this locations food! We won't be back! read more

The food was good, an attempt at upscale Mexican, but wasn't anything you won't get at your normal mexican eateries. The atmosphere reminds me a lot of Chi Chi's if anyone remembers that. Even with not being busy when we came in, the food took a long time to get there. The server apologized a few times as he walked by and eventually blamed it on how crowded it had gotten. I did point out we had sat down and ordered prior to the crowd, which he kind of just rolled his eyes and walked away. The stuffed pepper was very tasty, the rest was about average. This Chuys location just opened 2 weeks ago. They seem to be very organized and service is very good. Tried it for lunch today since I was in the area (note that I've been to the Chuys in Kenwood area around ten times and pretty much only go for the green and hatch chilies). I typically get the cheese chili rellenos with green chilis sauce. It was great and exactly like the other location. My only complaint is that their salsa that comes with the chips is horrible. Had lunch here this week and while I know it is a large chain I was pleased with my soft taco lunch and my service. We had Laurynn and she was the right mix of attentive and knowledgeable without being pushy. She was a wealth of information and basically said we could have a half plate of something if we wanted it. My friend had an appetizer and I had a chicken soft taco. I enjoyed my food. Looking back I would have gotten the quesadilla appetizer as it was more food than I had at a similar price. I will come back again. I hope to have Laurynn as my server. read more

Like I've stated in the past there are some businesses that have performed great and others have performed poorly in this so called pandemic. We were seated immediately (even though they were at 25% capacity) on a Saturday night. The server Shawn M was above and beyond anything than I ever expected. He took our order promptly, our food came quickly, didn't have to ask for a refill the whole meal. Probably the best service I have had from an establishment since this pandemic began. I have came to this Chuy's many times now and out of every experience I've had I have to say yesterday is one for the books! I made plans with a few friends of mine and I walked in a bit early not knowing if there was a wait and instantly was greeted by our fantastic server Brittany! She asked me if I'd like to sit in the Cocktail area as it wasn't that busy (and she mentioned it was happy hour!) There she sat me with the biggest smile! Asking me what I would like to drink as she put chips and salsa on my table. She sold me with the Margarita Swirl! I mentioned I was waiting for a few friends of mine and she told me I had nothing to worry about and that made me feel Welcomed! As I waited there for my friends (45 minutes might I just add) Not only did she stay attentive to me but to her other Customers as well! As she sat her tables and welcomed them with her positive attitude my friends came in and she did not disappoint! Drinks were given and appetizers were ordered. I ordered the Chuy Gooey happy hour appetizer and did not realize refried beans came inside and as I explained and apologized she told me not to worry she's here to serve me what I would love and that made me smile! She with no hesitation brought me a new one. I want to thank our waitress Brittany again for an amazing experience and will be coming back to this Chuy's and recommending it to our friends and family! My daughter recommended Chuy's to us because she likes the carry out at the Kenwood location. We decided to stop in and sit at the bar and have some dinner. Sadly they do not serve draft beer here which was not a deal breaker. We ordered some chips and salsa. It was probably the worst salsa I have ever had. It has a green tint to it and tasted off.
