Having lived in Orlando for years with Chuy's as a regular staple, I was super excited to learn Chuy's finally came to the Denver area! Now, I had never eaten in a Chuy's restaurant. I always got take-out, so this was a new experience for me. The restaurant is LOUD, so it was a little hard to hear my family talk. The server was nice, but he never did bring my jalapeno ranch sauce I asked for. He was prompt though with refills and attentive otherwise. I always get the fajitas, and they didn't disappoint as usual. The housemade flour tortillas are always fresh and delicious. Mom got the tacos, but she didn't seem too impressed. We just moved into the area and the hubby and I decided to check this place out. Despite the parking lot being full, we had a minimal wait time (5 minutes). Our server Bryan was AMAZING! He gave us great suggestions for dinner, and let me try the hatch green chile first since I'm a wuss with spicy foods. The tortilla chips flowed freely and the salsa was light and refreshing. Bryan even brought over a small bowl of the creamy jalapeno sauce to have with the chips. Absolutely delicious! Dinner- I had the "chuychanga" (chimichanga with oven chicken) smothered in queso (Bryan's recommendation) and my husband had the Elvis combination plate (cheese, chicken, and beef enchiladas with a beef taco). This is a great family place to take the kids. The interior is fun and laid back. The service was pretty good, they were especially good about keeping the chips flowing. They have paper thin tortilla chips which are extremely addicting, you definitely need to cut yourself off. The menu is pretty standard but they do offer some unique sauces for their enchiladas and such. There is definitely something for everyone here including the picky eater who eats that bland boring stuff. The family seemed more content then I because they like to keep their food pretty basic. The food and service from our waitress, Makyla, was very good! Would rate it a five. Ambience was good as well. Reason for three star rating is that the manager on duty, Eric, was an unprofessional person (I'd like to use better sentence enhancers, but this is a family site). We had a group of 12 where five arrived early and were sat about fifteen minutes before the rest of us. When the rest arrived, the restaurant was nearly empty, but the manager made a stink about sitting us together and ultimately made the other seven sit in a different section. He mentioned we'd be stealing income from his wait staff if he sat us all together. Within 15 minutes the restaurant filled up and it wouldn't have been an issue for any of the wait staff. The service here is great! For Tex Mex its pretty good. People visiting have to remember its Tex Mex. Margarita "famous rita" was good not the best I've had but not bad. The salsa with chips is more like a vinegar based pico. Chips are light and fresh. I had the chuychanga with green chili and it was yummy. The rice is nothing to get excited about. My hubby had the classic enchiladas, he's from Texas and was familiar with the food. He gave them a 3, not very cheesy but nice spice. We ordered the sopapillas for dessert. I would give them a 1. Very thick and doughy, not light and fluffy. They didn't seem to be fully cooked. We think we will be back for appetizer, bar food, probably not for a meal. Grew up in Austin. Moved to Colorado 10 years ago. I could not be happier that there is now a chuys in colorado, and 5 minutes from where I live too! Granted I grew up with Tex Mex, I don't think I have ever ordered anything from the menu I didn't like. I typically go for the chuychanga. The creamy jalapeño is the best, make sure to order it with your salsa and chips. The queso is something I've really missed since moving out of Austin. And don't forget about those margaritas! We usually will uber or ride our bikes to chuys, enjoy a few margaritas and then chat a movie at the theater in the same parking lot. This place can get very crowded. We usually go at weird times. Middle of the week for lunch or 2pm on a Saturday or Sunday to beat the crowds. Otherwise you may be stuck waiting for a very long time. read more

Quirky tex-mex with a upperclass flair (and price). The drinks here are good, and the environment is reminiscent of Buca di Beppo. The food is OK at best, and subpar at worst. I'll probably be back again someday, but it won't be for entrees. My wife and I had dinner here April 13, 2023, not many people in the restaurant at 6:00. I had the Tex/Mex enchiladas, my wife had the Chuy-changa. Neither were up to pre-pandemic standards, but ok. We shared a margarita, mostly drank water. Then went into Denver, and we were both constantly, terribly thirsty for the hours we were there, seemed odd. Tons of msg or salt in the Chuys food? The salt on the marg rim? Got home around midnight, and at some point later, maybe 4:00 AM, I woke up feeling strange, and then had a strong bout of "Montezuma's Revenge". Wife did not. I'll describe the taco bar: nacho chips, nacho cheese, nacho beans, nacho chips, ground beef, pico de gallo! Did I say cheese? Yes I did but it's worth saying another time! Here's a little secret, when you sit down in the bar area and begin to chow down on the taco bar ask your server for some flour tortillas. They are free charge and wow they are amazing. You can actually take some of the nacho toppings and put it in the flower tortilla creating a taco. This is definitely the way to go. Didn't really know what to expect. But wanted to give it a shot. Our server was nice. Our food was horrible. It tasted a day or two old. Dried out. A brownish black layer of my beans. No silverware. When we tried to get our waitresses attention, she helped the table next to us. No biggie. 10 mins later and she walked away. So we got silverware from another table. The plates are about $12 each. I usually prejudge a Mexican Restaurant by its salsa and Chuy's salsa was not bad. Not off the chain, but not bad. I had the Elvis #2 combo which included a few enchiladas, a taco, refried beans and rice. A lot of food for $13. My sister and brother-in-law had the burrito dishes. The margaritas were okay, but the price point was a little high for non top shelf tequila. Overall, this is a chain type Mexican restaurant. Tried to go to Buffalo Wild Wings before this but we waited ten minutes with no service and we had been wanting to try this place for a long time. I thought it was fast casual but it's actually a full service restaurant! Yes! Were greeted by smiling faces and were sat on the patio as we requested. Ordered quesadilla starter, don't order unless you're ready to eat wow! Four full taco sized quesadillas. Super super good. Main courses arrived, also did not disappoint. The margaritas are syrupy and extremely overpriced but the food was disgusting. In my opinion the food isn't much better than Taco Bell. Low quality. I came to Chuy's tonight for the first time to celebrate my grandson's birthday. The entire experience was wonderful - if there were more stars I would rate this place higher. It's very nice to go out to dinner and have a completely fulfilling experience, from being greeted at the door, escorted to our table, being greeted by numerous staff, including the management, and #10's to our server - Shea!!!! This place is fantastic and the service is exemplary! I would totally recommend this restaurant and I look forward to coming back again. I had just come back from the gym and I was about to make a protein shake. We had talked about going to Chuy's for a long time. My first advice is make an advance an advance reservation on yelp and check in once you get there. More than likely there will be a long wait if you don't! We had Chips and Queso with Beef which was not hot, but still good. For the entrée I had the Elvis Green Chile Fried Chicken with the suggested fried egg and queso instead of chile, it is the house specialty. I'm glad I ordered it, it was great! Chuy's is something of a standby in Austin. Its quintessential Tex Mex. I was incredibly disappointed to leave Tex Mex behind when I left Austin to move to the Boulder area earlier this year, so seeing Chuy's open was like Christmas come early. If you're not familiar with Tex Mex I say...just go. Its impossible to explain the entirety of the experience. They've kept the same aesthetic they have in all the Austin Chuy's: nutty, rainbow tile decor, old (thrift-shop) creepy family paintings, and colored lights. Its *very* tex mexy. The food I've found is on par with Texas if a little more spicy- I guess they want to make sure to remind you they're from Texas. Bigger...spicier, something. Everything is good but enchiladas are our jam. I pretty much always default to the chicka chicka boom boom and it never disappoints. Love and have always loved their salsa and jalapeno ranch with chips and last time they sent me home with extra and extra chips for my hubby! My only complaint about this location is the music is both terrible and punishingly loud. We often have gone for work lunches but can barely speak to each other. When we arrived we were seated and had one of the best waitresses we have ever had. Shea was right on top of everything our drinks were never empty and she brought anything and everything we asked for in a timely manner. The salsa was fantastic along with the Jalapeño Ranch Cream sauce. The enchiladas were delicious along with the taco and flautas. Portions are huge and well worth the money. Pretty disappointed in our experience tonightt. We brought my aunt for her first time for her birthday and our waitress Hasly ruined the whole night and experience. There was 6 of us. She came two times to see if we were ready to order and we were not the second time she came and weNt and disappeared for a good 20 minutes we were just sitting there looking around for her. I had to complain to a manager for herr to come to the table and when she came she said "do you need something" all of us with empty drink cups emppty chip baskEts. Me and my boyfriend have visited this location quite a few times. Usually with no issues, however not this time. I ordered a combo but specified I didn't want any beans. Once my food was brought to the table it was covered in beans, due to health issues I can not eat them. I asked her if I could have one without beans and she said "sure" and reordered it for me. Okay, cool. No problem. 15-20 minutes go by and I still have no received my meal, my family has finished their meal at this point. After 20 minutes she asked if I wanted it "To-Go". I got it to go at that point because everyone else was finished. Then we receive our ticket, and we were charged for an additional meal, when I didn't eat the first one. We asked her about it, and told her I had ordered it without beans to begin with. She started to disagree with my boyfriend and pulled out her notebook reading it and then reads the modification I had. She took the additional one off, but that was the end of it. It saddens me to give Chuys a 1 star. Their food is amazing but I just ordered To-Go for the first time and was extremely disappointed. My husband had a meeting up in Westminster so I begged him to pick up food to bring home. He got home and we quickly discovered that he was given the wrong order. I called the store and they immediately knew why I was calling. They said that they had my order and that I could come back and get it. We live in Highlands Ranch. 40 mins away. My husband could have made the decision to drive back. 2) They blamed my husband for it. Even though I told the girl I spoke with placing my order that he was picking it up. He didn't know what was on the order. 3) They told me that the other customer, whose order I had, got their meal for free but told me that the only thing they could do for me would be to MAIL out 3 free entree vouchers. I paid for 4 meals, for food I didn't even order. I guess I'll see if I get my vouchers. But why couldn't I have just gotten a refund on the food I didn't want?
