Ugh. No seriously ugh...horrible maybe the Chuys in Austin is ok. But my dish was bland and atrocious. The salsa with the chips were fair but nothing special. The food could have rated a two star but the service sucked. Our waitress Forgot to place an order for one of the meals then she ends up charging for an extra meal at the end....she was actually arguing with us when it was clear that there was one extra entree on the bill! This is such a fun place to be, you can tell the crew cares that you have a delicious meal! If something gets messed up they fix it right away! I like coming to a place people genuinely look happy. The food is good and the sauces make your meal! The creamy jalapeño sauce is the real deal. Their Tees are hilarious and I love that they actually have a punch card for the poor suckers like me that just can't get enough of this place. There are so many servers who deserve a shout out but I just can't remember everybody. Creamy jalepeno and chips are always great! However, the rest of the food at this location is consistently inconsistent. With our latest dining experience, we sat at the table for an hour before food was served only to find out our order was incorrect. They ran out of Mexican rice on a Saturday night and the rellenos were served undercooked and seeds/core still left inside. Several other visits the food has been served cold as well. Chuy's and their staff did a great job of managing to control a large group of customers waiting for a table. Even though it took a bit longer that I would have liked for a table, they did a good job of controlling the customers expectations. The food is definitely worth it, the burrito had great flavors, the salsa was fresh and beer was ice cold. I'll be honest- I wasn't expecting great food or great service when we decided to come here on the way home tonight. But I was pleasantly surprised! It was my first time at a Chuys and I'm sure I'll be back since I live 5 minutes away. Our server Miles was super friendly. We ordered our food and my boyfriend's food came out first, but we had chips so I wasn't bothered. Just a few minutes later, my food still hadn't come out, and Miles came over to let us know that our food - both meals - were comped, and we would only be paying for our drinks. I honestly hadn't even noticed how much time had passed and I hadn't gotten my meal so I was surprised and appreciative, and when Miles brought my food out not too long after he was moving with a sense of urgency. Miles was great and I hope Chuy's hold all of their servers to a high standard like that. I had the veggie enchiladas which were quite tasty, but what I was really surprised by was the refried beans. I don't have strong feelings one way or the other about refried beans normally, but these are seasoned and cooked PERFECTLY. I don't know what it is but they will probably make me never eat refried beans anywhere else, they are delightful. Also, the salsa was quite good - deceptively spicy as it looks just like a mild pico de gallo but turns out to be HOT! Anyway - surprisingly good service and food! And even after my food taking a little extra time we were n and out in about 45 minutes. If you're in the area and craving tex-mex, stop into Chuy's! read more

Love Chuy's. Love having one in Colorado. The food was really good - especially the salsa. They were crazy busy, but our food still came out pretty fast! Only negative...our service wasn't very good. Waiter took our payment and ran it. Then he took 2 other tables' orders with our receipt and credit card still with him. When he saw that we noticed, he handed it to us. We had the best time at Chuy's this evening all because of the attitudes and service we received! We sat at the bar and the bartender Ben was a class act! I can't say this place is worth going too. I read all these reviews so I figured I would give it a try and well I had them take my food back went home and had cereal for dinner. I ordered taco salad with chicken. Well it came with sour cream which the menu did not state and I do not like it, I tried to take it off but I had no napkins to clean my fork so I traded with my hubby. It was an overpriced lettuce bowl with a few pieces of cold bland chicken. And way to much tomatoes. I coulda done that at home. I also ordered a side of the hatch green Chile and well it tasted like burnt onions. All in all the food is nasty and gross. I definitely will not return. Side note the waitress was nice and service was good just unfortunately doesn't help bad food. Reminds me of eating at casa Bonita just don't. read more

It was mine and the wife's first time here. We were pretty excited with the overall rating on yelp. Got seated right away with warm chips. Not much flavor to the chips but queso was decent. It was snowing all day so we both ordered a large bowl of tortilla soup (FYI don't order this ever). It took about 15 minutes for the "soup" to get to our table. Server said they were making the broth which was literally just chicken broth warmed up and put in a bowl with a few veggies. I ate 3 bites and my wife ate 1 bite out of hers. I don't like to send food back and even with it being $10 per bowl, I decided to see if the server would notice that we were done and it was two full bowls. She took the food back, and gave me a bill that had everything we ordered on it. I don't know how as a server you can notice 2 full bowls of "food" leaving the table and not ask how it was or if we even liked it (obviously not). So overall service... ehh and food was not appetizing at all. Would have honestly been happier eating chicken flavored ramen from the store. Not going back ever. And if I were you, I'd 100% never waste your time with this so called soup. Do not recommend this place. Way better quality elsewhere. read more

I went to UT Austin 20 years ago. Chuys rocked then. Chuys rocks now!! I was ecstatic to see this open although it's not close to me at all! It was well worth the drive. We went at 7:30 on a Monday night. Waited 25'. And was well worth the wait. Chips are thin and plentiful. Salsa outstanding. Questions compuesto delish. House marg on rocks outstanding.
