Walked into Chuys today at 1:30pm and there was no one to seat us. So I go looking for someone and I ask a female busser if there was someone that could seat us and she gets some tall hispanic kid. This kid had the worst attitude when seating us outside. Basically threw down the menu and walked off in a huff. After waiting a few minutes and no waiter/waitress to get us beverages or our order we decided to walk out and go to On The Boarder next door. His attitude almost made me want to kick his ass. I've ate several time at this Chuy's but have never left a review. I can't begin to say enough great things about this restaurant! Just had them earlier this evening. First off, my waitress Cordelia was AMAZING! Very friendly, very sweet, took great care of me. I was even going to get double steak in my steak burrito and she said "well, before you do that, I want you to know it's loaded with steak. It's literally just steak and cheese." And she was right! Steak burrito was PHENOMENAL and the queso dip is out of this world. This place is a must for any Tex-Mex fan, or if you just live burritos and other Mexican food. Love this place! read more

This place is great. No wait to get in and our waitress was around when ever we needed her. We had simple steak tacos but the taste was great. The steak was tender BUT had a char on it. I've been dining at this Chuy's since they opened and it is always amazing! Service is always great, I've been here a lot and have never had any issues. Food is always fresh and comes out quickly! They start you out with THE BEST chips and salsa, as well as a creamy cilantro dip that is SO GOOD. Fajitas are my favorite though, everything always comes out hot, fresh, and super tasty! I've also tried their salads and enchiladas and both are delicious as well. Since COVID they have scaled their menu back quite a bit but the service and food are still fantastic. Staff is following all COVID protocols, tables are socially distanced and masks are worn. Their happy hour specials used to be amazing as well, I am not sure if they are still doing them or not but the complimentary nacho bar during happy hour was awesome when they did have it going on. My whole family really enjoys this place. My son is particularly fond of the happy hour nacho car and their HH drink and food specials are excellent. Lots to choose from on the menu, and they have white sauce! The chips are those really good, thin and crispy type with a nice spicy fresh salsa. If you're looking for entertainment, you can also watch them hand make tortillas! The decor is kitschy Elvis theme which we love. We have dined at both the Springfield and the Woodbridge locations and find both to have excellent staff and customer service. Really reccommend hitting this place up and sitting on the patio when the weather is nice! read more

Chuys has always been my favorite place to go eat- since I am from Austin it's nice to be able to have one in Virginia. I usually pig out on chips and salsa and get a cup of tortilla soup. Chuy's is generally reliable but a number of things about them are really annoying to me as a customer. First, it is tricky to tell how spicy a dish will be. Recently I had a special of chicken flutas and although it noted there were green chilies .... the dish was eye-watering spicy - could not finish it. The waiter seemed amused as if he knew better and I should have. Also, this place seems to overdrive the bar tab....you can be half way though a drink and the staff is already pressing you about another....I guess the bar is their profit margin. So far the best I have had in VA outside of the taco trucks. I've had better being from Cali, in Cali, but this at least gives me a familiar feel and taste. Enjoyed an excellent lunch yesterday with a friend. Complimentary warm chips w/ salsa, the bonus it was also served with a creamy jalapeno dip. Absolutely delicious. I had their chuychanga, served crispy and stuffed full with shredded chicken and spiced perfectly. My friend had their chicken quesadella, she really enjoyed it, also, nice and crispy and they don't skimp on the fillings. Great waitress, very attentive and checked on us just enough. I came in for dinner around 730 with a friend and was sat in the bar area right away. With the Covid restrictions the restaurant closes at 9 pm and the place was nearly empty already. The bartender took our order and our food and drinks came out shortly after. My cheese enchiladas were delicious and beers were cold. I've been here a few times now and aside from the limited menu (I find it on the smaller side for a Tex mex place, others may not), I enjoy the food. I especially love their chicken tortilla soup- so fresh, and their fresh, homemade tortillas. My husband and I also like all the different dips and sauces they offer for free. Enjoyed my first time experience at Chuy's. I have not heard of it previously as I'm not from this area but wanted to satisfy my Tex-mex cravings. Amy, the bartender who was working her last day at this restaurant, deserved 5 stars! Her wonderfully engaging personality and constant attention to service made the evening fun. She was quick to explain the happy hour deals, offered a recommendation, and answered any further questions we had about the menu. She mixed us a couple of margaritas... outstanding! The happy hour included a self serve nachos bar. You could easily fill up on chips topped with deliciously seasoned ground beef, refried beans, queso, and salsa. Excellent! Here's why Chuy's did not get a fifth star on this review: there's no carnitas on the menu and is only served as a special on Fridays. I settled for the steak burrito which was a bit too salty. The wait staff wasn't very friendly, took forever to pay our bill, and the food in our entire party wasn't good- we all ordered totally different things, and nothing had any flavor. The worst was the tacos and quesadillas, the rice was over cooked and totally bland, the enchiladas over done, and the flat tortillas and cheese tasted like flour and nothing else. Overall disappointing and nasty, one of the worst meals we've ever had. As for Mexican food in the area goes,it doesn't rank up on the top of the list for me. I think it has a lot similar quantity of food but the price is a lot higher compared to others in the area. At this writing, I have visited twice. Great portion sizes, food tastes great. The biggest problem I see with this restaurant is that it's not set up for the capacity. The main dining space is, in a word, cramped. Aisle spaces are narrow, and some of the decor (especially the fake metal palm tree) get in the way of staff. The restaurant is, as restaurants go, brand new so it's possible this will settle into some equilibrium once it's not as novel in the community. Service suffers due to the cramped layout, in my opinion. So I would probably recommend visiting on a week night instead of the weekend. Our last visit our server was almost tripping over themselves due to how busy they were with their tables. Never did get a replacement for my overly dry tortilla for my fajitas. (Incidentally, the fajita meat was very good. Excellent marinade. Very tender) For those commenting on their lack of taking reservations... I think you're very confused about the state of modern chain restaurants. read more

Chevy's just opened a few days ago. I ate at the bar with my husband during happy hour on a Thursday around 4:30. The environment while I was there seemed to be mostly middle age getting a drink before heading home. There was a lot of staff onsite doing training as they had just opened recently. Our bartender Edwin was knowledgable the menu, personable and quickly attended to our needs. We had the Chicken and shrimp fajitas, sorry no photos... I was starving. The food came quickly and was served on a Sizzling hot plate really tasty. We also enjoyed the complementary chips, guacamole, meat sauce and salsa. We will be back! read more

Best Mexican food I've ever eaten! This place is amazing! The hospitality is genuine and professional. They treat you like family. We had originally (and shamelessly) thought this was a Chevy's, but thank goodness it wasn't! My husband ordered hatch Chile chicken enchiladas and he absolutely loved it. He was very excited when he saw hatch green Chile on their menu. I ordered the combination steak and chicken fajitas for one.... and it could feed two! I definitely preferred the chicken over the steak, but the steak was still delicious. It came with a tin of freshly made tortillas, a bowl with rice and beans, and another plate with homemade guacamole, sour cream, Loco de Gallo, lettuce and shredded cheese. I wasn't able to finish it all because I had too much of their amazing chips and salsa. They have the best chips and salsa I've had and did I mention they were COMPLIMENTARY? The chips came out hot and were so crisp and thin. The salsa was just perfect. Not too spicy and it has the right amount of lime. My new go to Mexican restaurant on the east coast! read more

Went to Chuy's last night after leaving ikea. This trip is 1.5 hours away from our home, so finding this gem after a long shopping trip was amazing. We were sat quickly and greeted by Tyler. This guy is a speed lighting! My boyfriend and I both order combos and soft drinks. Our food came out quickly and within a minute, out of no where, Tyler came swooping by to check on us. At one point I didn't even notice my drink was gone until I was about to take a sip. I had the BEST shrimp rolleno I've ever had in my life! I love this place! They have the best Margarita in this area (classic, mango, raspberry...frozen or regular). They have this Nacho car on specific days where you can just go ahead and refill your chips. They would give you a small bowl of salsa which we always eat in less than a minute :) Yes it's that good! Chicka chicka Boom Boom Enchilada is my favorite, it's kinda spicy yet the spiciness doesn't leave a bite on your tongue nor overpower the flavor. The staffs are prompt, polite and attentive. I think this is the only branch they have in this area cause it tends to get really busy specially dueing dinner time, holidays and weekends. Several times we went there we waited 30 minutes or so before there's any available table for us. They have bar on left side though so if you're just by yourself or with your partner, you can just go in the bar and look for available chair. That will save you from waiting. Or drink a little bit while waiting for your table. They've good parking space that goes around the restaurant. We never had issue finding a parking spot. read more
