Ciao Bella Italian Bistro

Ciao Bella Italian Bistro 690 River Road New Milford, NJ 07646 Caesar Salad Hot Italian Sausage & Broccoli Rabe Chicken Parmesan Chicken Ciao Bella Tiramisu Appearance: 1/2 Taste: This locally owned Italian restaurant serves a decent selection of Italian dishes. The dining area is one room adorned with attractive art decor and a glass wall overlooking the main road. The Caesar salad was a light, yet satisfying starter. The romaine lettuce, croutons and house made dressing blended the perfect trio! If you are looking for an appetizer with a touch of sweet and spice, the sausage & broccoli rabe will do the trick. The protein and vegetable blended well together with some diced tomatoes thrown on top. As always, I can never visit any Italian establishment without trying the Chicken Parmesan. For the most part, it did not disappoint. My sole critique is the excess amount of moisture beneath the linguini. I also used any extra mozzarella cheese as a topping for the pasta and table bread. Named after its restaurant, the chicken ciao bella was breaded and pan fried. The lemon butter sauce definitely added flavor to the cutlets and the side vegetables were just as "bella" as the main entree. The coffee flavored dessert was paradise. The taste as so rich and pure in flavor, you definitely didn't need coffee either this final course. I highly recommend this location if you want a decent meal at reasonable price. Thank you, Omar and the culinary artists for your pristine service with a smile. #ciaobella #italianbistro #newmilfordnj #caesarsalad #broccoliarabe #italiansausage #chickenparmesan #chickenciaobella #tiramisu #njeats #localspots #foodstagram #njfoodie

Chicken Caio Bella

Came for the first time and we had a great meal! The service was great and our waiter was absolutely awesome. We had the clams in white wine sauce as an appetizer and would highly recommend that. Then for my main I had the chicken caio bella and it was very nice a crispy chicken cutlet with a nice light lemon butter sauce. The bread pudding dessert was also good and we would definitely come back!

Calamari

Our waiter Leo was fantastic. Our party enjoyed the appetizers of calamari, mussels and clams . My veal was great. BYOB. Parking in rear of building. Nice atmosphere and fair prices.

NY Strip special with au poire

If you're looking for a somewhat upscale but casual Italian restaurant that is a BYOB, this would be your place. The tables are nicely set with white linens, red napkins, water glasses, and utensils. The decor is beautiful. The restaurant is on the smaller side and a bit of a walk for those that may be handicapped. Parking is in the back of the building, and you must walk up front to access Ciao Bella. However, the walk is worth it. We came a day before Mother's Day. I took mom out this time with my partner, and she always raves about this place. Now I understand why. The table was greeted with a delicious loaf of bread. We started with the calamari with mild sauce. The calamari was perfectly coated and perfectly cooked. The sauce was delicious, even for mild. Usually, I would opt for spicy, but since I had mom, I didn't want to kill her. That's okay. I'll come back to try it myself. Both mom and my partner opted for the NY strip steak special with au poire sauce, and I ordered the mussel special with spicy sausage. We wound up sharing. Both entrees were out of this world. We didn't get dessert because we were so full, but I did order a latte, which was delicious. The service was excellent. But do you want to know what's better? This business is a family owned business, including the chef in the kitchen!

Food was excellent. Very flavorful. Service just ok...seemed to be more interested in the phone than the customers. We will return because of the food.

Rooted in Italian tradition but open to modern techniques and seasonal ingredients, it's a place…read morewhere one can go to celebrate a milestone or to have a nice meal out with your family, where we decided to have a celebratory dinner at this establishment. Located off a busy Kinderkamack Road in Oradell, Ora, meaning "now" or "right now" in Italian, has been on my list and was named Best Italian Restaurant in Bergen County in the 2025 Daily Voice Readers' Choice Awards. A reservation was easily made via Toast. Upon entering as first-timers, my partner and I were greeted by the host inside this multi-level space with the vibe of a modern farmhouse, featuring warm wood tones, exposed rafters, and chic finishes accented by soft mercury lighting. One can dine in the main room, al fresco on the outside patio, weather permitting, or at one of the many top tables at the bar. We were seated promptly at a cozy table ready inside the main dining room. Their menu features a well-executed spin on Italian cuisine. As a starter, we decided on the Basil Pesto Arancini to share. For the main meal, we opted for one of today's specials, 8oz Prime Spinalis accompanied by Mac & Cheese sans crab meat and Dayboat Sea Scallops. Even saved room for some dessert and decided on the Chocolate Tortino and Soft Serve Gelato Copette. Washed them down with Franganza Spritz. Complimentary housemade bread with whipped butter started our meal. Every dish had flair and stood up against the next. Presentations kept our eyes wide as everything arrived to the table, and even the more straightforward preparations had a little something special about them. Everything was delicious; we really don't think one could go wrong with anything on the menu. What truly elevated the night, though, was our server, Clark. He went above and beyond, attentive without being intrusive, genuinely kind, and clearly passionate about making sure we had the best experience possible. It made us feel so welcomed and taken care of. Can't wait to dine here again!

Unfortunately for us, some guests got lost on the way over and our party had to wait for all of us to be seated. Since our original tables had now been taken, we waited a while longer, and longer ... getting seated about an hour after our original reservation. We were promptly given menus but the waiter did not come back for quite some time to actually take our orders or serve us drinks, and I noted we finally had orders placed an unacceptable forty minutes after being seated (adding to the hour we wait to get seated). Appetizers were served first - before the complimentary table bread, which I found a bit odd? Between the calamari, caesar salad, and table bread, the food was delicious and flavorful. After appetizers however, there was easily another half an hour wait for our main entrees, with little service inbetween - no topped off waters or cleaned up dishes. My medium rare rack of lamb came out disappointingly medium well, which given the wait for entrees, I shouldn't have been surprised that it continued to cook while waiting to be served. The salty lamb and vegetables were drenched in dressing, and were better off served either with about half the flavor or on the side. Trying a bite of my wife's undercooked pappardelle, I was again disappointed yet not surprised. Summing it up, this place has a fabulous ambiance but the attention to detail from the wait staff and chef is missing, and left us with a three and a half hour dining experience with mediocre food.

The space is pretty lively and would be a great place to watch a sports event. Appreciate that the space has different types of seating areas from traditional dining tables to a big bar area and a lounge area in the middle. It can get loud in there so I wouldn't go there if you're looking for an intimate vibe. The staff is pretty friendly and do a good job of attending to the patrons. The food is where it was a bit disappointing to me. I can appreciate the wide variety of items on the menu, but not when the quality varies so much. We ordered a few pasta dishes (one that was on the daily special), a few taco dishes, an order of wings and the brussel sprouts. All of the pasta dishes were huge disappoints. They looked like pasta dishes from Applebees. The sauces were very runny and the kids pastas were the most basic pastas that were way overpriced for what they were. My daughter who loves pastas only ate about 1/3 of it and told me she didn't like it. The wings were dry and not saucy enough. The tacos were OK. The brussel sprouts were the only standout dish that we ordered. I liked their extensive draft beer menu though. Lots of variety to choose from and the drinks were fresh. Overall, I'd certainly come back here and hope that I pick some better food choices or a big improvement on the food quality, but a fun place to hang out at.

Other than that, a solid spot for Italian food if you enjoy that cuisine and are ok with the prices. The menu has a pretty large selection of foods, from pasta dishes and seafood to pizza to parms, chicken/veal, ravioli, and salads. (A note: I don't always like going out to Italian restaurants because they can be pricey for the value [and i can't help but confidently think that i could make it for a fraction of the price], especially if the pasta isn't homemade.) I ordered the penne with broccoli rabe ($25) and for that price I would have wanted A LOT of broccoli rabe to be satisfied and perhaps a few more ingredients. It was tasty and filling but I didn't make a good choice there. The salmon penne was also well flavored, with some nice salmon pieces, rich sauce, peas. They also give you complimentary bread and what looked somewhat like garlic bread; both were good but added to the carbolicious experience. Service was pretty attentive. There's a 3% upcharge if you pay with a credit card. It's a bit dark in the restaurant, which adds to the nice ambiance. Parking is around back and seems not that big but we had no trouble parking.
