Very nice service. Pizza is mediocre though and far from New York style with a rather bland pizza sauce. It is nice enough as a family dining spot and it always seems busy, so they seem very popular. If you seek true NY style pizza, then drive further south to Duluth to New York Pizza Company (next to Cava) if you know NY pizza and this style. Johnny's pizza isn't bad, but it is definitely GA and not New York. I find GA pizza to be more crunchy instead of the bendable and thin dough that one seeks with NY pizza. read more

I was in the mood for pizza and decided to give Johnnys a try this time around. I was able to order online and pickup at the store. Ordering was super easy and they had the pizza ready by the specified time. I ordered the Great white pizza without tomatoes. This location is located right by Aldis and has a spacious parking lot right outside. The pizza was probably one of the best ones I have had, and I liked how the white sauce was not overwhelming. It was also one of the few pizzas I've had that wasn't greasy at all. The chicken and spinach was in ample amounts. I got a large and two slices were very filling. I've been coming to this Johnny's around 5 years now. I think once while I was picking up some pizza to go I first noticed they had a small bar. I then noticed they had real beer. Like effort and thought was put in to what's on tap. Since then I've been coming back at least monthly. The pizza is good. The calzone is TOP NOTCH. I come here for calzone, great service, reasonable prices, and enjoy the fact that the owner takes great care in selecting both local and other SE Brewery beers to serve. This is the kind of place you find Ghost In The Machine (Parish Brewery), or Spacedust IPA. A taste level I'm more accustomed to at a Gastropub then my neighborhood pizza joint. Another successful visit. While they were busy when we arrived, not so much when we left. This location does a tremendous amount of take out business. Seemed like they were missing s waitrreess, but she was keeping up. We ordered a house salad, a slice of the meat with added banana peppers, and I had the meatball sandwich with added side of fries. The absolute worst service and inconsistency. We continuously get the same waitress a short Hispanic girl who is rude and shouldn't be in the hospitality industry unless she is kept in the back. Our pizza was burnt to a crisp, completely black and we explained this to the waitress and her response was " is all of it burnt "? As if we should expect only part of our pizza should be. She never brought our drink and overcharged us for beers. After asking her again about our blackened pizza she had exact same question a second time -is it all burned. I was in tonight, for some garlic knots and a slice of buffalo pizza. Even on a Saturday night, the food is always hot, fresh, and simply amazing. I noticed it the first time I went to Johnny's. I've only gone one time since, but it's a real big problem I have, and it's still... hanging over my head. The pizza is pretty good, don't get me wrong. But in an area with so many pizza, places with "good" fair, you have to be at least average in every other way. The service was hit and miss. I went one time, and there were three tables with two waitresses and, although my waitress was pleasant, and I can't say how things would have gone in the long term, because I only saw her a couple times. Well, I saw her, but it was standing on the other side of the room, talking with another waitress. The second time I went was during lunch, and my waitress was amazing. Pleasant, accurate, and fast. So, besides the two visits. Here's the problem. Johnny's is one of those places that hangs random stuff from the ceiling. I have no idea why they do it, but it is a constant point of neglect when the time comes to clean. I will bet a slice of pizza, at another place, that they haven't cleaned the dust off of those objects. There's a lot. The door was opening and closing frequently the second time I was there, and all I could do was watch for gunk to come snowing down onto everyone's food. It would have been like watching a car crash. You don't want to see it, but you can't look away. And if it did happen, would you tell the person? If you want Parmesan cheese to be the only white flaky stuff to top your pizza, as I said, there are a lot of other OK places to get pizza in this area. It had to be one of the worst I have had in many years. Forget the NY style because it was far from that. It had a very thick crust, unusually thick with some really poor cheese and sauce.
