Hands Down I was treated to one of "the" best burgers I ever tasted. This place is just a wee bit tricky to find as it's located in an indoors market set up with other eateries, a wine bar and lots of open seating. I was curious as to how the burgers I ordered would taste as it was a tad pricey at $18.00. The meat is a combined hormone free ground chuck and brisket. Comes with homemade potato chips, nice and crispy. I especially enjoyed the flavors of the goat cheese and balsamic drizzle with carmelized onions, roasted red peppers; all topped with a nice and fresh bun with a basil glaze spread. My husband ordered the Prosecutor burger with substituted Swiss, with bacon and avocado. He downed it so I know his was good too. I really want to come back and try the salmon BLT on a brioche bun sandwich. I paired my burger with a lavender lemonade, for $5.00 very refreshing. Total bill plus tax came in at $50.00 plus a tip. This place is worth looking for just be ready to spend a few extra dollars for some very flavorful American fare. read more

Great burger and service. Came for lunch and tried The Judge burger, it's a traditional California style burger topped with pastrami. It was delicious, the potato bun was nice and soft and toasted perfectly. Burger came with a side of chips instead of fries which I enjoyed very much. My friend and I decided to split a sandwich from here to go along with salads we had gotten elsewhere in Paso Market Walk. We were helped by two sisters that look like they were identical twins, but they weren't. They were very polite and helpful. Once we ordered, we were given a food beeper so we could find ourselves a seat we're waiting for our food. It came out quickly and was delicious. All the ingredients were fresh and made from scratch. The grilled cheese was a great compliment to our two salads and we found a lovely seat outside on a gorgeous day to enjoy our lunch. Decided to try this new-to-us, advertised as "women owned" restaurant on International Women's Day. Keep in mind we used GrubHub delivery so we did not visit this restaurant in person, so we can't speak of the ambiance or service, and also want to acknowledge that some foods don't travel well, so that may be why my review is not as stellar as we had hoped based on what we had heard about The Third Degree. We ordered: Cheddar Melt, Jalapeño Honey Chicken sandwich, sweet potato fries, & cheese curds. The sandwiches came with a fresh pickle spear, and the highlight of the meal, their homemade chips. The chips were crunchy & delicious. Get them!! Yum!! Sweet potato fries were solid. Both sandwiches were lackluster and a bit too salty for our taste. Cheddar melt toast was well toasted and we enjoyed the onion ring component. The chicken sandwich was really messy with components sliding everywhere, making it difficult to eat. Sadly, the cheese curds, while highly anticipated, were a limp salt bomb. Based on this experience we won't order delivery again, but we might visit in person to give them more of a fair chance. The menu has many tasty looking salads - and breakfasts! - that we'd like to try. So -- if the menu looks good to you, go there! I can't recommend it for delivery. read more

You got a side of homemade chips to go with the sandwiches, and those were good too. There are paper Menus or you can view the Menu Board in order to decide your choice of "eats". Upon deciding on our order, we stepped up to the counter and Daniel greeted us promptly. With Salads, Burgers, Sandwiches and Paninis being the offerings here, we ordered a Salad - Berry Hill (WOW, this was "the bomb"...a definite 5/5), 2 Burgers - The Suspect (amazing taste...another 5/5), and The Lawyer (very yummy...4.5/5) and finally a Sandwich - 2X Crispy Buffalo Chicken (both could have been a bit juicier...4/5). From the Sides & Extras - Onion Rings w/Ranch (delicious...5/5). Our drinks...a Clown Shoes IPA , a Cliche Wine Seltzer and a Firestone Walker 805 Beer. We stopped here for a bite before getting on the road home from our weekend trip to Paso. We ordered the Bacon Avocado Omelette and the Chorizo burrito - They were both delicious!! It seems to be run by a family and they were all very friendly. They were able to accommodate egg whites for me which I was so appreciative of. The omelette tasted fresh and came with a side of potatoes that weren't even a bit greasy. They were perfectly crispy and the whole meal hit the spot. Something was terribly wrong with me. Afterall, I'm the Burger guy, and I wasn't in the mood for a burger. But they looked and sounded so good! Instead, I went for a Turkey Ortega sandwich (I can just hear tons of peeps saying, what???? Something was wrong!). Well, it made me feel all better. Quality wich, through and through. Wonderful turkey, cheese, and bread, grilled with an ortega chile inside. Yum. So darn good. We ended up meeting the owner, and she is so nice. Inside the Paso Market Walk, this is one of the three locations opened early morning. We were walking around looking for some breakfast at Third Degree happens to serve a few breakfast items including the delicious chorizo burrito. With a hint of spice and sides of sour cream and salsa (more spice if you like!), it's a greasy but oh-so-good breakfast! It's a pretty huge burrito so perfect for sharing with another. I originally brought my family to market walk because I wanted everyone to be able to order something different. However, when we stopped at the third-degree we all found something that we liked. They offer everything from salad, burgers, half rotisserie chickens and of course chicken fingers for the young ones. I personally got the Mediterranean salad. It was a really good portion size and I loved the dressing. You can add any protein you want. The fries were also a big hit. Try their garlic sauce. It's to die for. Prices are reasonable and it's worth every penny because the atmosphere is so relaxing and perfect for families. The staff is also so friendly here. read more

Unfortunately, I did not feel that The Third Degree lived up to that standard. I ordered the BLTA ($13) and I received the most basic, boring sandwich ever. The bread was plain white Wonderbread. The bacon was a bit thicker than the regular kind but cold. The lettuce was iceberg. The tomato was flavorless, as was the avocado. There may have been mayonnaise on there but I'm not quite sure. Burger was juicy, veggies fresh, bun soft, fries crispy, and satisfaction was met. Prices might be a bit high for burgers, but the quality was on point. Unfortunately we visited during a time where they were low on supplies, some ingredients were out of stock and the soft drink machine was empty of the hundreds of possible combinations. While the food was tasty, fries really good, burger was okay, the service was a little lacking. We asked for slight modifications to a few of the items we ordered, such as no mayonnaise on the burger or no onion on the salad, yet the items had something wrong. Not a huge deal, just added some frustration to the overall visit. Our pager also didn't work and appears a number of orders came out before ours. We were sitting outside and when we went to check on our to go order, it had been ready for a while. Living and working near Market Walk, I go to several businesses there on a regular basis. Not long after 3rd Degree opened, I went and was underwhelmed. Didn't want to judge too harshly because they were new and went again about six months later and it hadn't really improved. Have tried is sporadically, liking local businesses and hoping they succeed. But the food now is more or less the same as on my first visit. It's not bad food, it's just boring and not all that flavorful, sort of like what you might get in a hospital cafeteria. Yes, everything is expensive these days, but their prices seem to be higher than most comparable spots in town. Prior to a doctor appointment, we needed a bite for lunch and were very pleasantly surprised. My bro and I both got the BLTA ("A" is for avacado) and it was very good, and my sister in law got the Bleu Roast Beef sandwich. All seating is outdoors, COVID or not. But despite 111 degrees in Paso that day, it was reasonably pleasant underneath the huge trees in the courtyard which faces Spring Street. There's unlimited refills of your choice of soda or water while you eat. Bathrooms were spacious and clean. They give you a buzzer to take to your seat which lets you know when your food is ready. My friend had mentioned a place we could get food from various places and take it back to our hotel, so we decided to give it a try. After looking at all the options, I wanted to get a turkey avocado bacon sandwich from this place and I have no complaints. It didn't take long for them to make it, the sandwich wasn't soggy or too hard on the bread, it was very flavorable and the perfect amount of food. I would definitely come back and try and hamburger.
