This is a spot you want to bring your friends who have come into town to visit you in Austin and want to play some good ol' fashion arcade games all while having space to sit around and catch up. You can chill out lakefront on their patio too in between games and/or eats. They make their own kombuchas, seltzers, ciders, pizzas, salads, wings, pizza rolls, and even pizza desserts so this is a one-stop shop for fun! Keep in mind that they get really busy on the weekends but considering how large and spread out the venue is it never really feels busy. There are plenty of seats and spaces around for you to hang out and chill out in between games and/or drinks. $10 for all the gaming you want to do and its all cashless here which makes things super easy when you are coming in with a group of friends or family to pay. You can come and go as long as you keep your wristband on especially knowing that they close late (12am during the week and 1am on weekends). Heads up - they do not mandate masks so if you are uncomfortable just keep your mask on and be ready to hand sanitizer your hands as you go from game to game. There are plenty of hand sanitizer stations around the venue but might be worth to take your own just to be safe. The staff are also walking around sanitizing game consoles as they can so no worries on that end. We are interested in the $15 a month recurring membership as it just seems like a no brainer especially if you like games like we do (pinball!) and/or want to have something to get into any day of the week or weekend. read more

The ONLY reason I couldn't give this place a 5 is if you aren't expecting it to be LOUD... you will be surprised. Besides that this place is a MUST. We went with friends of ours and it was so fun to walk around and play all kinds of games. The pizza was yummy! Their in house made cider was delicious! Cheap way to spend some fun at an arcade. There's all the typical games and then some, great view and food and drinks too. Definitely something for everyone. The patio that overlooks the lake area is also great. It gets pretty crowded but there's so much to do that you will always find something available. Parking though can get a bit tight. Food is alright - the pizza crust is on the cracker style thin side, which is alright, but will scratch the itch. The customer service was absolutely ridiculous here. I paid in advance and still had to wait in line but due to other plans and even though I made a reservation, it didn't matter because per the manager, they don't have the manpower., I was not able to stay so I asked for a refund which they could not do because they don't have their online system and it's not their problem then as I walked away the manager and front desk proceeded to talk shit about me requesting a refund. Terrible parking, crowded, dangerous flooring, dirty, rude staff, high number of games don't work, crowded and loud. We went there for a 10 yr olds birthday. An earlier reviewer said it wasn't fun for adults but probably for a 7 year old birthday. I can honestly say - no. Not for either. We arrived 15 min prior to our reservation time. There was NO parking. So we all got out of the car, driver had to park over 1 mile away. He rented a scooter and road it to the arcade. We made a reservation (paid $40 for it) and received an email stating if there was a line for general admission to skip it and go straight to the door and tell the doorman we had reservations. When we followed those instructions, we were met by a VERY RUDE front doorman who told us to get in line. We explained how we were just following the instructions from the email we received. He stated "well there is a line now so go wait over there". 10 people in front of us and 100 degree weather. No fans on entry waiting area. When making the reservations we were told only the outside patio was available at our times slot. However there were MANY inside tables available when we got there. But, because we had it reserved we went to the patio. Covered yes, but no fans and no air circulation. The birthday cake disintegrated. The floor was sticky, the drink machine had no ice and several drinks were empty or not working properly. Over priced food and drink for quality. Even the cider. The floors are uneven. Wavy, old cement where several areas have been repair but not smoothed out. You continually seeing people stumble. It is an accident waiting to happen. Parking was terrible and several of our guests parked several miles away and had to Uber to the arcade. Even though there is a full parking lot from an office building next door. Why not rent the lot on the weekends? Win-win. But parking is currently a lose-lose. Except for the bartender that day (Aug 17, 2024) every staff member was rude or at the least- not helpful. A VERY high number of the games didn't work at all. On many two player games, only one players buttons would work. Shooting games "guns" didn't work well at all. Skee-ball was stuck in a corner with a couch behind it. People who wanted to play it had a hard time because they could barely bring back their hands to throw the ball. It was loud, chaotic and just a miserable place to be. The fact that you have to pay $12.99 per person and so many games didn't even work was a waste of money. Don't waste your time or money. Awesome spot here. As people have mentioned $10 will get you in and access to all the games. So cool to just be able to walk up to any game and start playing! Some of the most popular I noticed were guitar hero, most of the racing games, and the physical games like shooting hoops, skeeball, and air hockey. It's right along the river with awesome views of downtown and a cool patio with swinging chairs and tables. Only downside here is the parking. I had to hover around like a vulture for 20 minutes just to swoop a spot and some people were being really aggressive with the parking it gave me flashbacks to living in LA. Recommend Uber or lyfting there if it isn't too expensive otherwise better to wait until someone leaves, but just beware that you might be waiting for awhile and it can get a bit annoying. read more

The old crab shack is now a fun place to play all kinds of arcade games. The drinks are various ciders, wine and a couple hard seltzers. It's 10$ to get in or 15$ for the month. They let you sample any cider that sparks your interest if you're feeling adventurous. A menu you download for food like pizza. Thin crust personal sized and drinks come in small plastic cups. It can get pricy but so much fun. The games are mainly retro from childhood and beyond. Centipede, pong, Pac-Man and other retro games with star wars themed. Then there's skeet-ball, hoops and some other partner games. The pinball games were awesome! There's one where there's race cars you sit in but I couldn't find one opening to try. Not all the games were working but there's enough to choose others to play. Also the patio outside gives an amazing view of downtown and the River pedestrian bridge and is lit fairly well. Tables to sit at, a couple with swings, and it's much quieter to have a chat and look at the skyline with a drink. Raccoons also make appearances picking up any dropped food but leave people alone. I didn't really like Cidercade, but it was everything it promised it was, so I guess it gets 4 stars. I don't like video games or alcohol. Pizza was over-priced and mediocre. The pizza was typical of what I see around here - too mushy in the middle and too crispy around the edges. Toppings were just kind of thrown on in a clump - probably because they judged me for choosing pineapple. The pepperoni rolls were even more underwhelming. Parking was limited. It was that annoying I had to pay a cover charge just to sit on the patio. The view was nice but patio seating was hard to snag. Staff was overbearing. I imagine when this place picks up the value of the door price may drop. The pizza here though is pretty basic. Relatively thin crust and little sauce. Cheese kind of slides right off. Had a really great first experience at Cidercade yesterday with some family that's visiting. We were looking for something that would be fun for the kids and the adults and this was IT. Kids loved the newer racing games, basketball, etc and adults loved the old school classics. It's really a deal that can't be beat! $10 each for unlimited games, huge free parking lot, and food/drinks were also very decently priced. They only serve the items that Bishop makes which is a neat concept. Highly recommend all the items we had, especially the POG Seltzer, Pepperoni & Honey Pizza, and the Chocolate Peanut Butter Pizza... forgot to take a picture sooner because it was so good I will be back again for sure. There is a single day pass for $10 and then there is a monthly pass for $15 which is super cheap. My favorite part was the outdoor area where there is a scenic area of the river and downtown Austin. Loving Cidercade! In a year of being bored as hell, Cidercade is saving me! With $10 for a single visit and $15 for a monthly membership, I bought myself a membership for my birthday. Been going almost every weekday afternoon to practice my skeeball skills and I just got a new high score of 630 today! Sadly there's only 3 skeeball machines and people are dumb and ignore the "6 feet apart" signs, so I just walk away when they do. Not Cidercade's fault, they do everything great for Covid from the signage to the sanitizer EVERYWHERE to the distanced machines. The weekends seem to be way too crowded for my taste, so I just avoid it so I'm not part of the pandemic problem. Can't wait til there's a vaccine and I can have a drink here while playing with other humans! read more

They have a large variety of games including several multiplayer ones. The games range from shooting games to dance dance revolution. In terms of dining, they feature their hard ciders and seltzers (the root beer seltzter was our favorite) as well as a variety of 10" pizzas. I purchased tickets and food online for today, June 24, 2024. I have a few thoughts about our visit. 1. It was really a fun place and most of the games were in good working order. We all had fun. 2. The gals working the front door and bar were far from friendly. No greeting, smile or anything of the sort. They looked like that this is the last place they wanted to be. We came in at 11:00 and stayed until 2:30. 3. Their website states that purchasing a pizza and a drink includes a pizza up to $18.00, including build your own. I wanted a pizza with 3 ingredients and was told that I could only build a pizza with 2. Why in the world would you advertise a build your own with an $18.00 limit and allow only 2 ingredients? Disappointed and deceived. They did have a game tech on site repairing the games which is great. Kudos for that! All in all a fun place, but staff interaction was dismal at best. read more

My favorites are time crisis and the basketball pop a shot (there's usually a wait so better to come on off hours if you can). We fell in love with the location in Dallas and we're even there for the grand opening in 2014! I recently broke my sisters grand opening growler from 2014 and she is heartbroken. Now... onto my review I was so excited when I found out about the location that opened in Austin due to the fact my sister moved from Dallas so I was pretty sad about not be able to go to Cidercade anymore so this was a huge surprise! I am so in love with the Austin establishment! It's open, airy, large, not to over crowded and tons and tons and tons of different style games. Also it's right on the river so it has a gorgeous view of the outside and the patio is a perfect addition. You can just sit and relax with a cider or have some of there amazing pizza!!! Also there is a bar but keep in mind cider only! However there are so many great unique flavorful options you are guaranteed to find one you will love! My favorite right now is the pecan pie... It is to die for! Lastly they have been very ontop of the whole COVID situation. They are strict about wearing masks and have little hand sanitation stations everywhere! A fun, solid place to hangout in Austin! For $10 you can play any game inside! This place definitely brings me back to my childhood, minus the quarters holder. Tons of arcade games ranging from fighting games, shooting games, sports games, etc., as well as skeeball, basketball, pinball, and others. If you get tired of playing, you can sit on the outdoor patio that overlooks the river and just hangout with one of their homemade ciders, seltzers or kombuchas.
