This place is absolutely wonderful. If you read enough of the 2-3 star reviews of Ciera, you will notice a common theme... People griping about the price lol. Perhaps they should have stuck to something more in line with their budget. Anyhow, the Wagyu Tomahawk steak was nothing short of AMAZING. The bacon appetizer was delicious, the lobster bisque was on point, and the mac and cheese was perfection to say the least. I hate to sound snooty but if You're looking to get a great value for your dollar, eat at another restaurant. Our bill for 2 was about $330 but then again, my steak was $150 and the wine I like was about $50/glass. That being said, they have 3 course menus for $50 or $60 per person and the selections from both menus are great. read more

This is our 5th time dining with this establishment, but this time it seemed very different. Very unorganized and short on staff. We are a supporter of ordering the best dishes on the menu, but it seemed limited. We did order the Wagyu rib and a multitude of sauces to try with the steak. The steak was tender, but cold the sauces had solidified and made the steak taste bad. It did take a solid 35-40 minutes to receive the steak after our second coarse, which probably explains the dish being served cold. The seafood platter was not fresh and didn't seem like it was presented properly. Lastly, I ordered a Mai Tai cocktail from the bar that lacked taste. All I tasted was old sour OJ. Hadn't dined at Ciera for years and decided to try it again when I was in the area. I was very pleased to find that the food and the impeccable service hasn't changed. The value, wait time for food and excellent service beats the other local competing steakhouses, by far. The Filet Mignon , Garlic Escargot, cocktails and Caesar Salad were expertly prepared and the presentation was creative. The ambiance is 5 star. The food was good , but our issue was with our server John. To start off, he was a bit absent-minded. He took orders for drinks for 3 people out of our party of 8, and then bewilderingly walked away. There was no signal from the rest of us that we weren't ready to order. He came back with the 3 drinks before coming back to take the rest of the drink orders. This was forgivable. However, one of my friends ordered the same drink as one of the 3 drinks that already came. My friend asked about the drink, and John said he had a sample and if he would like to try it. My friend said yes. John proceeds to try to take the same drink that already came out for my friend and tried to pour some into a cup for my other friend to sample. The friend with the drink was so confused and told him no, I don't want to pour MY drink into another cup. (If this was the case, my friend could have just offered him his drink on his own for him to try!!) We were floored by what he was suggesting in such a fancy restaurant. To top all of that, after my friend told him no, he says, "Ok wait, I know!", proceeds to go grab a straw, and takes a little bit of the drink from the straw and puts it into a cup!! We couldn't process that this was happening and was seriously uncalled for. We feel we may have been treated with less respect since we were a relatively younger group of guys. We didn't have a reservation and ate at the bar with the bartenders Charlie and Jesse. Absolute best dining experience I had in a long time. Both Charlie and Jesse are fun great guys who know this place well, we were in good hands. My partner and I shared the escargot bourguignon, lobster bisque, sautéed mushroom ragout (a side), rack of lamb, and crème brûlée. There's a couple different house made bread flavors served first including asiago, sourdough, and cranberry whole wheat served with home made butters: regular, pesto, and cranberry. After the entree is complimentary chocolate covered strawberries. For drinks we got the house manhattan and 2015 sin zin. The salads were so tasty and one friend had the French onion soup, she said it was the best she ever had. We made reservations for my 27th birthday a couple weeks ago stating it was a special event since I found out I was pregnant as well we stated in our reservation we really wanted privacy. we waited 20 minutes after the reservation for a table and got seated by the service area and front door we couldn't even see inside the restaurant. The sea bass was fantastic but I was super disappointed that after making a reservation weeks in advance we couldn't even get a decent table after requesting it. So this is going to sound nit picky but a bunch of little missteps add up to meh. Let's start with the good. The martini was fantastic, the server was great and the scallop potatoes were yummy. The steaks were obviously not prime steaks. My husband pointed out that the menu did not indicate they were prime. However, the price points were in line with prime. The steaks were woefully under seasoned. There was absolutely no flavor at all. I got the ny strip and my husband got the filet. Both were in need of additional seasoning. The weirdest of all was they had a broccoli rabe side dish. As an east coast Italian I was very excited by this. I even commented to the server how surprised I was to see broccoli rabe on the menu. When it was served it was broccolini not broccoli rabe. Not a huge deal but strange that server didn't mention this when I stated how excited I was about broccoli rabe. All in all not an awful meal, but a far cry from good for the price point and definitely not what I would consider a four diamond meal. Most of the reviews are in line with my experience. I thought they were overly critical. Wish I would have given them more weight in my decision. Lastly, the social distancing was worrisome. I made reservations due to COVID regulations. Initially, when we walked in we were immediately greeted by a friendly host. We were immediately taken to our table. No wait time, which was nice. Covid: follows guidelines and made us feel safe, not all restaurants in the area were willing to follow their guidelines, and I'm happy we found one that also went above and beyond with their service. My partner and I came for an anniversary and were able to grab a reservation. All of the food was phenomenal with great presentation with enough portions that both of us were plenty full with what we ordered. I was able to get escargot and duck, my favorite meal that isn't offered at a lot of steakhouses. Awful!!! Luckily we had an amazing day so that horrendous dinner experience didn't ruin my birthday completely. My fiancée and I eat at fine dining restaurants/steakhouses often and neither of us have ever experienced such level of dis-service before. It was rather shocking and sad. We got there with reservations made and Maître takes us to our table. Getting there the table is not ready or clean and he tells us to go back and sit and wait on the front. Awkward. We sit at our table and wait. Wait. Wait more. Servers passing by us, pouring water, serving bread, checking on "regulars" and completely ignoring us. After 10 minutes my fiancée stands up and goes fetch someone at front, Maître asks him on hallway: "what do you want?" !!!!! Mmmm maybe some service? That'd be nice. Maître takes drink order on hallway, from my standing fiancée. Fiancée returns to table. Still no water. Ten minutes later fiancée stands up and goes fetch the bread guy. Praise Lord we got some bread. Thanks for such treat. At this point, 20 minutes into the birthday dinner experience, no server greeted us, no nothing. We begin to wonder if they see us. After flagging the Maître one more time, we finally place out orders. Oysters came in on timely manner. Steaks took exactly 52 minutes. By this point we are in starvation mode, my glass of wine has been sitting empty for 30 minutes and still no server. I ordered the Oscar Fillet. Three cold pieces of crab and four cold halves of aspargus on top of a cold fillet. My fiancée fillet also cold. I almost cried in disappointment after waiting for so long. We flag a server and I proceed to explain - in a nicely and polite manner - how disappointing the experience has been so far. He was kind and listened and apologized, which I appreciated. Maître comes to my table "I understand you're not happy?". Mmmm, none of us are happy but sure, I can take the blame. He leaves and returns with a coupon, placed it on table next to my fiancée saying he will comp us $100 when we return (that's never gonna happen btw), and he's sorry the experience was bad. At any moment he looked at me, apologized to me, addressed me. I was probably that bitch Karen who had the audacity of wanting a hot piece of steak on her birthday night at a steakhouse in his eyes. How dare I?!!!??!! The server who brought us a little lava cake (the ONLY GOOD THING we ate that night) for dessert was nice, I wish I remember his name. He was apologetic and sincere. But that was about it. We left and walked by the Maître and he didn't even say bye to us. We were shocked by how a person who's supposedly trained and experienced in diffusing and handling tough situations provided us with such poor attitude. I felt like I was a burden. What a nightmare of a place and a night. Everything about that experience was wrong, and not because it was a "fancy" steakhouse, but because it is the least you could expect when you go out to eat! My husband of 24 hours and I decided to make this restaurant our first place to dine as a married couple. There are highs and lows to our experience. We had a reservation at 6 and were promptly seated. We were served water from one of the assistants working the floor. We brought our own wine which was obvious as it was on the table. Then we sat there for about ten to fifteen minutes without being acknowledged. I asked for a corkscrew from the assistants (WHICH SHOULD HAVE BEEN A CLUE). He then spoke to one of the waiters. Still no service. Other tables were seated and being served at this point. The assistant then comes over to tell us the maitre d will be coming to see us. Still no one comes. I finally got up and went and spoke to the hostess who got the manager. He poured us our wine then "comp'd" us the corkage fee ( it appears they do this for everyone though). The whole thing smelled racist and it really pains me to say that. That's the low points. From there on out it was great! Great food! We had filet minion, giant baked potato, the Yukon golf mashed potatoes, the sautéed mushrooms. The crab bisque was SO good. He had the French Onion Soup. Apparently that was delicious too. We will go back again in hopes that I'm wrong. They did their best to make us feel welcome after our rough start but it's a hard thing to recover from. The service is normally very good, they have great cocktails and wine list, and offer a large menu now including a few vegetarian options. They serve fresh bread and homemade butter to start and provide chocolate covered strawberries at the end, so hard to not enjoy. Based on my most recent food experience. Grilled avocado mozzarella salad - great concept, not a lot of citrus or grill. Crab cake- awesome!! Truffle Mac and Cheese- really good, classic Ciera staple. Tonight was beyond disappointing. This has been my favorite restaurant for the last 8 years. We've celebrated all our special occasions here and I've raved about it to everyone. Tonight our service was awful. Our plates that were supposed to be hot were room temperature and the plates that were supposed to be chilled were room temperature. The wine service was shocking. When we asked for another glass of wine, the server passed our table multiple times before bring the bottles to the table pouring the wrong wine in the wrong glasses and just handing my glass to my boyfriend instead of changing the glass that had other wine poured in it from before. We were ignored when we asked for more water and for utensils. The list goes on. It was at the end when the busser argued on what comes with the coffee service, at that point I gave up. I'm not sure what happened to that place, but I can no longer recommend it. I'm saddened by the experience tonight, we will not be returning. read more

This smallish steakhouse inside of the Montbleu hotel left us somewhat disappointed. While the service was attentive and friendly, our tenderloin was way short of delicious steakhouse bar. While cooked to a perfect medium rare was neither tender or juicy and was not flavorful. The steak was definitely not a prime steak and I would go as far as saying borderline choice at best. This was my first time here and we came with a party of 15 for a celebration. We were given a very hard time making this reservation, as it seems they do not like large parties, or at least that is the impression they gave. The place was only half full at best, so right off the bat, that uppity attitude was a huge turn off. I could understand if they didn't have enough staff, but it didn't seem like that was the case. It took over 30 mins for our waiter to finally come get a drink order going for us... and another 30 mins just to get the drinks... we ordered water, and a bottle of wine. I was parched and cold, and asked for hot water... and I had to ask 3 times for it.... 3 times just for for HOT water... and we sat near the kitchen... really?? Finally... we get to order... food doesn't come out until another hour or so... so we were all exhausted and hungry from the day event. I didn't even know they brought bread because they gave a piece to each individual, but I never was asked until I saw other people have bread and I asked for some. What in the heck?? On to the food. I ordered the sea bass, it was good actually- quite tender. The sauce is a bit too rich for me so it was hard to finish my dinner. My husband ordered a medium pork chop, and it came out super well done, dry and bland. The truffle Mac and cheese is good. The waiter rarely checked back on us, so I'm giving this rating mostly based on the service. This place was wayyy too stuck up for my taste, and the food wasn't good enough to justify it to any degree. The food was decent, but I'd had better in much less costly establishments, and my hubby and I are foodies and have been to plenty fancy steakhouses. Our server John was excellent in every way - attentive, professional, personable, went above and beyond to provide a fine dining experience. The menu selections were very impressive and beyond delicious. We had the sea bass, rack of lamb, oysters, escargot. All could quite possibly be the best of each selection we've ever had. Just so much more than the word delicious can describe. The berries dessert was divine. We just had the absolute best dining experience in every way you possibly could, and price was I thought it was very fair and worth the $$$ and would 100% go back anytime.
