They had the soccer game on when I came in and it was a smooth atmosphere. My husband got the super burrito. He's picky with his burritos and he said they were bomb. (Couldn't take a pic as he devoured in less than 5 mins) He even loved their horchata. Their salsa is good too. Other places taste watered down but theirs had lots of flavor. Cilantros has two different spots -- their Cantina downtown on J St. and their family restaurant in North Sacramento -- and both have completely different vibes. The Cantina downtown has more of a city, bar hangout feel, while the North Sacramento location feels more family-oriented and chill. As for the food, it was honestly okay. We tried the quesadilla and the super burrito bacon-wrapped, and while it was good, it wasn't anything super special. It was also a bit pricey compared to other taco spots nearby. The photo of the super burrito made it look huge, but in person it was definitely smaller than expected. Overall, it was an okay experience -- not bad at all, just not amazing either. California burrito is the best! I haven't gone anywhere for a great California burrito, alongside with delicious tortilla chips and salsa! Ok, having said that, my wife picked us up, for takeout, 2 California burrito combos, all to find out she received a $4 'service fee?' That is the reason for the 1star rating! We are not even eating there at your restaurant and on top of they you expect a tip?!? We did not even give tip, sorry, but not for an unexplained service fee! Carnitas Rolled Tacos and the Bacon Breakfast Burrito are the best things on the menu here. Everything else is ok. The carnitas rolled tacos are probably the best rolled tacos I have ever had. He got a taco salad and I ordered two street tacos, one carnitas and one chicken. How could anyone possibly screw this up? Well both the chicken and carnitas were super dry and bland. Even slathering them with hot sauce couldn't help these ridiculously bad tacos. I also didn't like that you had to pay for chips. He said his taco salad was just okay. The food was really good. We had the Street tacos and the California style tacos. They have a salsa bar. The chips are an extra fee. The fountain drinks weren't all working when we were there. On the other hand, the Chile verde plate wasn't. Seems as if the novelty items here are good but the food didn't taste too authentic. I was very excited about trying their Birria Tacos. I have had my share in Birria Tacos, so I was anticipating all that goodness in the tacos (braised stew meat, onion and cilantro) diving into that flavorful consommé! BUT when I received my tacos, I was HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED. Maybe it was their off day but I won't be coming back. All three tacos looked like the picture I posted. I didn't even eat that last one. came here because I kept seeing AD's on Facebook for Taco Tuesday $1 tacos. Showed up and it was on! I ordered 3 one pollo, un asada, y Uno carnitas. We got the Birria tacos, one CA style taco with asada, and a total of eight Mexican tacos with carnitas, asada, and chicken. We paid about $22 which we think it's decently priced. This is my go to place for Mexican food! I've tried their nachos, chimichanga, however my favorite dish from here is the $1 Mexican tacos! I load up on about five usually as they have many options for meat (asada, chicken, carnitas, chorizo and more) and provide limes. What's cool is spend $5 or more and you get free chips and salsa. They provide two different types of salsa, red and green. Both pack a pretty nice kick and are fresh not from can! I've been aware of this place for a while, because I usually like to get Wendy's. My family and I stopped in, and we were pleasantly surprised. We got the $1 tacos for my 3 year old, and she enjoyed licking at the meat. My wife got her usual chimichanga. She enjoyed it. I was more adventurous, and got the hot Cheetos burrito. I was very hesitant trying this location. Didn't have a good experience when I went to another location when they first opened. A good close friend of mine tried the birria beef tacos and said it was good. Finding birria tacos that's really good isn't often around Sac. But this was really good. The beef is tender and very flavorful. And they were generous with the consome. My only grief is for the price I was hoping that the tacos would have been more loaded with the beef.
