Came here the other day right before they closed. We thought it was open until late. So we placed an order to go. Cheese enchilada rice and beans, Cabeza Tostada, Caldo de Camaron soup. I was pleasantly surprised by the deliciousness do the food. Don't let the location fool you. Cinco De Mayo serves good food at a reasonable price. Park in ng is difficult t ok f i nd the adjacent parking gets full.

Shrimp Enchiladas and Fajitas. So damn yummy.

Wanted to try this place out again and it was as tasty as I remembered. Had the shrimp enchiladas and Fajitas accompanied with Coronas and the classic Chips & Salsa because why not right. The staff are very friendly which made it a better experience. Recommend to anyone looking for yummy homey feel good Mexican food.

Juicy, flavorful, and filing! Their sides are also great, and I love the special touch of chicken in their rice. Their pico de gallo is to die for, and our new fave is the spicy version. The service was good and the rotisserie chicken was solid, but the sides were not. The PCH here is quite busy with cars, so good that there is a small dedicated parking lot. One orders and pay from the window, and there are 4 cafeteria style tables indoors. It took about 5 minutes for the order to be prepared, and was well wrapped for carry out. The mini-pak ($22.99) consists of one whole, chopped up chicken with sides of beans, potato salad, and chicken rice. It comes with tortillas and salsa. The one outstanding thing about the meal was the well crisped and flavorful chicken skin. As for the meat, the dark thigh meat was really good, the white meat OK, but the drumstick meat was dry/gummy/mealy. And the chicken size was about the one that comes from a regular grocery store (not Costco). I liked the potato salad, as the potato pieces were chopped pretty fine, and the chicken rice did have chicken pieces in it, but wasn't particularly flavorful. The beans were bland, and the tortillas even more so. There is a more famous grilled chicken chain, that is closer, cheaper, and somewhat better tasting for me. Always good to try new places though.

***UPDATE FOLLOWING DIANA M'S *EDITED* RESPONSE***…read more After deleting her prior response to this review, she is now just focusing on the complaint about the online service fee. I never suggested that it was a "hidden fee", I just pointed out that it is a very high fee for ordering online. As pointed out before, ordering online directly from a restaurant does not usually incur a fee, let alone a $6 fee. If Diana feels that ordering online is so onerous, then maybe she should deactivate that feature and encourage her customers to phone in their orders. Diana should also consider not badgering customers that did not have a good experience with her restaurant and consider taking some classes in Customer Service 101. It's not a good way to run a business and the fastest way to lose customers. ***UPDATE FOLLOWING DIANA M's RESPONSE*** It's unfortunate that the owner responded with excuses and condescension. A simple "Hey, sorry for the mishap, we will make sure it won't happen again" would have sufficed. At least that way, she likely would have had a returning customer since the food is good. But now, no way Jose. And the $5.00 online service fee is egregious. I order quite a bit online and always try to order directly through the restaurants website to avoid fees. I don't know if any other restaurants that charge fees to order online unless there is a delivery involved. --------------------------- Well, not sure what to say. We put in an online order last night, which went through with a $4.95 service fee. (We ordered through their direct site rather than a third party sight to save on fees) If that wasn't bad enough, I showed up at the designated pick up time, and the place was closed. WTF? About an hour later, we were refunded our money, but why is the website taking orders and collecting payments when you're not even open? Talk about inconvenience. And clearly their posted operating hours are inconsistent.

The wing was the first piece grabbed out the bag and the temperature wasn't there. No juice, just luke warm dried meat. The second piece I grabbed was the drumstick and again temperature was off. No juice or no steam. It didn't feel like these pieces were under any heat lamps. Felt left out as each piece eaten didn't really have any residual heat. 3rd piece I grabbed was the thigh which I mistook for a breast because it was bigger in size. After positioning in eat mode I decided to pack the rest home instead because the chicken wasn't hot enough. Funny thing is after 1 hour drive my chicken breast piece had some retained heat. Little did I realize the stellar fries kept the breast warm. Shame on this place ... even KFC is enjoyable once order is secured. After waiting over an hour, we still only received about half of our order. About 40 minutes into the wait, I was told they were out of chicken, which meant I never received the chicken and waffles I ordered. I also never received my baked beans. I understand that restaurants can run out of items, but I wish we had been told much sooner instead of waiting that long. What makes this even more disappointing is the amount of money we spent, and as you can see from our receipt, we tipped very well. We came in wanting to support the business and have a good experience. Unfortunately, between the long wait, missing food, and the quality of what we did receive, I honestly don't feel the experience was worth the money. We were also visiting from out of town and specifically chose this place, so it was disappointing to spend such a large part of our visit waiting for food we ultimately didn't receive. I do want to be fair and mention that they gave us complimentary water and banana pudding, which we appreciated. However, it didn't make up for waiting over an hour and not receiving our complete order. Would I come back? Maybe, but only once things are more organized and structured. I recently stopped by and was honestly impressed, especially with the portion sizes and flavor. I ordered the two-tender combo, and right away I noticed these weren't your average tenders--they were jumbo. Thick, crispy, and cooked just right. The outside had that perfect crunch while the inside stayed juicy and tender. You also get to pick your heat level, which is clutch whether you like it mild or want that real Nashville kick. The combo came with Texas toast, pickles, and their signature comeback sauce. The Texas toast was buttery and soft, perfect for balancing out the spice. The pickles added that tangy bite that cuts through the richness of the chicken, and the comeback sauce tied everything together--it's creamy, slightly tangy, and honestly addicting. I also ordered the Cluckin' fries, which come loaded with their comeback sauce and your choice of heat on the chicken. These were a whole meal on their own. Crispy fries topped with flavorful chicken and sauce--it's messy in the best way possible. I gave their mac & cheese a try too--it was okay, not bad, but definitely not the standout compared to everything else. Stick to the chicken and fries and you'll be happy. Pro tip: let your friends order extra pickles... you're gonna want more once you start eating. Overall, Cluck and Blaze delivers on flavor, portion size, and that classic Nashville hot chicken experience.
