Always quick and delicious. I've tried many items on the menu and never been disappointed. Especially love their Chiles Verdes.

Their buritos are just flavorful especially the shrimp. One of the first Mexican restaurants I have ever loved and still do.

One of my favorite Mexican Restaurants! This and Portomex in Richmond. You cannot beat their crispy Chicken Tacos nor their Bean, cheese and Hot sauce burritos. Cinco is one of our neighborhood Mexican places to eat. They have delish chicken crispy tacos. And amazing bean dip. Their Flan is amazing too. But As far as everything else not my favorite. I love authentic Mexican food but Cinco is not really good authentic Mexican. read more

Would have given them 5 stars because I have been coming here for YEARS without issue. I usually get the bcr with extra rice and fajitas. Recently, I ordered this and it mistakenly came with red salsa. I had never seen the cooks working that day before so I assumed they were new. When I brought my burrito back and told the girl working the counter, she told me the fajitas were seasoned and that's why it was spicy.......... I said "no, it's never had salsa on it when I've ordered this before." The supervisor came over and claimed the same thing. I said "no, you know me (she does because I'm a regular). I order the same thing every single time I come and it never has salsa on it, nor is apicy." It was very disappointing that they would both lie straight to my face knowing that I go there regularly. It was a simple mistake of the presumably new cooks. They did end up fixing my food but the fact that they initially lied rather than owning up to their mistake was very disappointing. read more

So dissapointed at how the quality of food has deteoriated here! I specifically asked for a fiesta burrito which comes with guacamole sour cream etc. For over $10 & was given a mainly rice burrito with barely any meat and NO GUACAMOLE AND SOUR CREAM even though we paid for it. When being charged extra money for what you're asking for and not getting it, is seriously not ok. My husband also did not get what was asked on his. This is the 2nd time I've been ripped off by not getting what I paid for. You literally have to check your food in front of them before ordering unless you want to deal with being placed on hold forever because the manager is "busy". I was asked to immediately hold and so I asked to speak to the manager and I was put on hold. So I will no longer be a customer here and my family have been loyal customers for years. Food taste decent, I felt like I got over charged for steak and shrimp burrito; that only had 4 shrimp. They charged me for a shrimp burrito (which the price was not even listed) and charged for extra steak. My fiance took me here because I wanted a burrito and he comes here with some of his coworkers and always raves about it. When you walk in you have the large menu on the left side of the wall and then you just order from the front cash register and sit anywhere you like. We both ordered burritos and they are pretty decent size and not too pricey. The burritos were tasty and would for sure get them again. I do want to come back and try their crispy tacos as I see on Yelp people are raving about it. I believe they do lots of catering as well so I need to keep that in mind. The only reason I knocked off a star is because the bathroom is outside of the restaurant and you need a key to get in (think of it like a gas station) and the bathroom would not look from the inside. It wasn't the cleanest of bathrooms even if it was just to wash my hands. read more

The attitude of the woman who acts like the manager/owner is remarkably horrible. A customer requested catering from this restaurant and I placed a large order of $160, and was told over the phone that plates and cutlery would be included, along with serving spoons. When I got there, the woman said that she would charge me for their paper plates and plastic spoons. I protested, but was in a rush to leave and they were well-behind my promised pick-up time of 11:30am. The food was still not ready or packed. I asked her to if I could start taking what was ready, still under the heat lamps, to my car. She told me to hold on and took the order of the next person in line. After that person, I asked again. She told me to hold on. I had just paid her $160 and it was ten minutes past the time they agreed to have the food ready. The last straw was when she brought out two measly sandwich-sized paper bags of chips. I had bought TWO quarts of salsa, and had to ask for chips, even though she said they were included. I asked her, do you think this is enough for all this salsa? She said that is all that is included. Keep in mind that chips are FREE to diners of this restaurant. I told her I would leave a yelp review. She shrugged her shoulders, indicating she did not care. read more

I've had some pretty trashy Mexican food, but I honestly rate this place under Taco Bell... first things first the customer service here sucks, they're incredibly rude and unprofessional, when we first walked in we were greeted by two employees, we told them we needed a few minutes to decide and they said that was fine but then continued to just stand there and stare at us and not even 2 minutes later they ask once again what can I get you. Finally I just make a whatever decision, going with a pastor quesadilla and asked for chips and salsa as well, figure okay, pretty hard to mess such a basic thing up right? Wrong... the pastor was so salty it nearly made me pucker... and on top of that, it tasted like the cheese was a mixture of Monterey Jack and some cheap American cheese... I couldn't even eat half of it. The chips that were ordered never came, asked for them twice, but instead of bringing our chips, she decided to go and sweep instead. I had to get up and go get chips, which were so stale they almost tasted like cardboard. They were not only rude to us, but also tried to charge some gentlemen sitting near us $2 for a cup of water.... Something that should be free, especially while sitting down and eating in a restaurant. Save yourself the disappointment, time, energy, and money and go somewhere else, anywhere else.... Walked into this place 20 minutes before they closed to order something, keep in mind to go so they don't have to stick around, and the guy says "the kitchen is closed". If you're ever in the mood for a plate of shitty nachos, but still want the feeling of eating at an authentic taqueria, this place is the place for you. I've been to two other Cinco de Mayo locations (Clayton Rd., and Walnut Creek), and this one has to be worst of the three. The service was shotty from the get-go. The woman at the register held a smile for about .5 seconds, and then abandoned it as she took our order. However, her face lit up when she saw a frequent visitor walk in. So, in order to get any friendly interaction from these people, frequent them more often. They have two types of nachos. They have a version with Jack cheese, or you can go the ballpark route and order the nachos with "cheese" sauce, pickled jalapenos, and pico de gayo. You have the choice of adding meat for an additional cost. On top of that, I ordered a fiesta burrito, and my best friend ordered the flautas plate. I'm a little surprised that a place like this would sell the ballpark kind of nachos. For a place like this I would hope for more quality in their product, and I'm sorry, but this kind of nacho plate does not scream quality. They are what you would expect: oozing with sauce, so much that chips are either dry or soggy. A step down in terms of good Mexican food, but it does cater to those who crave this type of food. The burrito was disappointing. It was huge, that's a plus. However, when I ordered it with chicken, I wanted more than two bites of chicken. The rest of the burrito was rice, beans, and a ton of sour cream, so much so that my burrito began leaking it as soon as I unwrapped it. My friends flautas turned up being taquitos, which they also have on the menu. This seems to be a very common mistake, because after talking to someone else, the same thing happened to them. We knew they were taquitos because the woman who dropped them off said "Here's your taquitos." It doesn't matter if they were good; they were wrong. They have a salsa bar, and they have baskets of chips waiting for you, so that's a plus. This whole place just seems like a giant step down in terms of authentic Mexican food. read more

We were in the Bay Area for a celebration of life and this restaurant catered the event. My oh my, I truly enjoyed the food that was provided! The crunchy tacos are like homemade status which is basically all a girl could really ask for, tacos. The tortilla chips were fresh and crunchy just like I like them. The beans were tasty and so was he rice. I ate a few bites of my sons cheese enchilada and I'm telling you, it was delicious! I felt like I was right at home in San Diego, with access to Mexico like 20 minutes away! There was plenty of food to feed the 300 guests and all were very satisfied. This used to be one of my favorite places to eat, but today changed my mind. First off, the customer service was terrible. Our cashier was nice but the three other employees I talked too while I waited forever for my food were super rude. My boyfriend got his food about 20 minutes before mine and then when they brought me my chile relleno there was a bug in it, they said they would remake it. I should have just asked for a refund. When we lived in the area, we would go to Cinco at least once a week. Now that we don't we visit every time we pass through Martinez. Still as good as we remember. Not a chain, even though they have a second location up at the Nob Hill Shopping Center. We haven't eaten at that location yet, just the Pacheco Blvd location. My love and stars are based purely on taste, for I have not stepped foot in Martinez in like..ever. My friend offered to bring dinner over and what she brought, made my eyes water with glee. The taco stayed warm and in tact ALL the way from Martinez to Alameda.. stuffed with hella cheese, meat and the perfect amount of lettuce. The burrito was perfectly blended within the tortilla.. I typically hate rice in my burritos but, the rice married the wonderfully lard-cooked beans and chunky carnitas together in the most beautiful union. Even with what I think is the Winning Taco in my pocket for the unspoken contest with Jack, I thought, tonight, on my last solo night, I'd try yet another mexican place. So I read the reviews for Cinco De Mayo, got a bit excited and headed over after work. Sheer disappointment. I got crispy beef tacos. The beef had no flavor. They were really cheese tacos. I used to love cheese on my tacos, but have gotten away from that in favor of a simpler, tastier sprinkle of cilantro and onion. So to get piles of cheese and tasteless beef was just sad for me. They gave me a little bag of chips with it (after shamelessly asking twice), but I'm pretty sure they were costco chips. If Cinco did indeed make them, then I'm truly sorry for that. The hot sauce was very good. But there were no carrot slices with the jalapenos. They are cheap. But then, I just had three sub-par tacos and don't feel like I ate anything.
