Taco plate
Inglish R.

I decided to stop here for lunch because I was famished. Lol I ordered the taco plate which comes with 2 tacos, rice, beans and a 16oz drink. I got one al pastor and one carne asada taco. The al pastor taco was 10/10! Flavor was so good that I truly wish I just got Al pastor for both tacos! Also ordered Agua Frescas -- horchata , Jamaica and the Cóctel de Camarón. Yum! I also took a few bites of the fish tacos and WOW!!!! THE FISH TACOS WERE AMAZING!!!!!!!! They are huge and stuffed with lettuce, tomato, crema and cheese. I would come back just for these!!

Camarones al Estilo Cancun in hot red sauce w/guac, beans & rice

It was early, early Friday morning & I'd had a full Thursday. I was grumpy, hungry & didn't feel like cooking. I wasn't in the mood for breakfast for dinner so it was TLGE to the rescue. Shrimp in hot red sauce 4.7outta5 It was delicious! The spices and flavors blended so well together. I love spicy, flavorful food and this hit the mark. I do wish the guac would've been packaged separately. The warmth from the other foods caused it to become slimy and lose its flavor. Tortillas, beans & rice were as advertised. I don't eat a lot of refried beans and these were really good.

Absolutely terrible experience. The staff here have no manners whatsoever rude, dismissive, and completely unprofessional. We told the lady that our food was cold, she looked at us and threw those inside the microwave. To make matters worse, I saw one of the cooks walk straight into the bathroom with his apron still on! That is beyond disgusting and shows how little they care about basic hygiene or their customers' health. If that's how things are handled in front of customers, I can only imagine what goes on behind the scenes. This place needs serious management intervention and health inspection. I'll never eat here again, and I wouldn't recommend anyone else risk it either.

Pretty good experience! Had the chance to try this place out today and it did not disappoint! I went early in the morning so luckily it was not too busy. The inside is super comfortable vibes and the staff are so friendly and accommodating. I had the chance to try multiple dishes and all were very pleasant and tasty! The portion sizes are great for the price. They also had a lot of stuff at their salsa bar, including grilled onions, pickled veggies, and much more! I would say some areas could have been cleaner or more well kept, but otherwise the restaurant is a nice place to stop by for some amazing food at a reasonable price! :) Would definitely come again.

$19 dollar Super Burrito. where is the fillings?

I've ordered DoorDash and they almost always get my order wrong or something is missing. The prices have gone up the quality and portion size I've gone down. If you raise your price I would hope your portion would stay the same

The receipt from our visit

On August 27th, my husband and I visited this establishment for a second time. You can see everything that we ordered on the receipt. The woman who runs the place I guess she's the manager; I'm not sure brought us our food. I asked her about the flan and she assured me it was in the bag. When I open the bag, there was no flan. I went back inside to tell them that it was missing, the young man at the register asked where the food was, and I told him my husband was already outside eating; with great hesitation I was given the flaw that I had paid for. My husband's burrito was OK not great better the first time. I wanted a tostada and the young man at the register said the ceviche was really good so I said OK. After about three bites, my mouth was literally on fire, and I was unable to eat it. This time my husband went inside because he was going to swap the tostada for a couple tacos. The same woman in Spanish started speaking about me, (she is Hispanic and we are caucasian. My husband speaks fluent Spanish and the woman did't know this all the while calling me a liar and a thief. This enraged my husband. The woman would not give him the ceviche refund nor would she give him a couple tacos. my husband asked her to please throw it away in front of him so he knew it was in the trash. With great hesitation, the young finally threw it away. It was beyond consumption and should have been refunded no problem. After checking with the health department and the local county clerk, we have learned that they have been involved with lawsuits and health violations. I have never been to an establishment where I was questioned about my order or called a liar and a thief. We spent $32 there and literally the only thing we could eat was the burrito that my husband got and the flan. The flan was OK but not outstanding for $4.50. The entire time we were eating outside after the flan and the tostada incident, the woman dressed in all black, watched our every move until we got up and left. My husband would not eat another bite of food, We both felt discriminated against and disappointed. We are somewhat new to the Concord area and we were excited to think that we had found our new place for Mexican food The way we were treated was completely unprofessional, unnecessary and extremely disappointing not to mention discriminated against. Neither my husband, nor myself will ever cross the threshold again to enter their business. BAD BUSINESS!

Ordered a pastor taco - Tastes great. It's the best thing here! Carne asada burrito - meat has zero seasoning. Does not taste like anything. Tortilla was wrapped badly and falls apart when eating. Not too appetizing. Torta carne asada - Pro's: arrived piping hot, presentation looked great and is a huge portion. The bread was fresh, soft and delicious. Cons: Carne asada was grey, tasteless with no seasoning at all. The beans were refried and runny. There was a very thick layer in the sandwich that was overwhelming. . It made the sandwich slippery and mushy. The other ingredients added were also wet and it was dripping with watery juice. The jalapeños were soft and not crunchy. Taste was not great. Pricy and a great disappointment. Worst Torta I have ever had :( Michelada - tajin rim, cucumbers and two shrimps. Drink was okay. The presentation was nice until looking closely, you notice one shrimp was half cleaned and split halfway on the vein but they didn't bother to remove the poop. The other shrimp was not even deveined. You can see the lines. I removed the unclean part to try one and left the other behind. Steak fries carne asada - same flavorless meat. No comment from son who ate part of it. Salsa bar - provides complimentary chips. The lighter red salsa tastes vinegary or hint of possibly overripe tomatoes or spoiled. Green salsa is light in taste. Pickled potatoes were mixed with onions and carrots/jalepenos that were soft and not even crisp or crunchy. The darker salsa was a bit smokier, limes and beets were good. Expensive meal total was $66 for far below average quality of food. Left unhappy. Tips: I heard the pupusas were good. Stick with this and the Al pastor tacos only. Do not get carne asada, shrimp, burritos or tortas. Ambiance: nice Mexican music Service: the cashier interaction was lackluster. Didn't look thrilled to take your order or to even be there. Don't remember her even smiling. The better reviews here are obviously meant for the Pleasant hill location. Not here. After reading the actual reviews, I'm appalled. Especially the post about the moldy food. That explains everything. Good bye.

Not recommend! My family ordered a lot of food from them this morning and all the meat was super salty in every single order.

The zucchini was cooked perfectly and not overcooked or soggy at all, which made the whole burrito taste fresh and flavorful. We also got the appetizer with the chips, zucchini, arugula, and cheese and that ended up being one of my favorite dishes. Everything paired together really well and had a lot of flavor without feeling too heavy. I also tried the mango margarita with tajín on the rim and really liked it because it wasn't overly sweet. Super refreshing and balanced. The Dude ordered the chicken enchiladas with verde sauce and really enjoyed those as well. Customer service was also really good. They checked on us periodically throughout the meal and everyone was friendly and attentive without hovering. Overall the restaurant felt clean, relaxed, and comfortable. Definitely a spot we would come back to again. Especially a lot of vegetarian options ! Vegetarian approved!!!

Located in the small shopping area off Contra Costa, right across from Pizza My Way, you will find…read moreEl Aguila Mexican Cuisine. First off, the place is pretty big. There's a ton of seating inside, and everything is very spacious. Though, I do have to say it always feels incredibly empty for some reason and there's never anybody actually inside outside of a few tables, but they do have tons of takeout so perhaps that's the tradeoff. However, don't let the lack of eating patrons inside the place put you off. This taqueria offers a good variety of different options as any taqueria would offer, and many of the options have pictures and stuff with it. The service here is, kind of hit or miss. The people in the front usually aren't overly friendly, and will sometimes feel like they're just there until the clock turns work over. Sometimes they're bordering on rude as they just kind of give you an indifferent stare as you're ordering, or will just feel as if they're half listening and not even looking up. The service was a bit better when I dined in, so perhaps maybe it's just the takeout, although it's usually the same person for both. Price wise, it's certainly not going to be cheap. If you want the best bang for your buck around here, El Aguila probably won't be it as there's a plethora of taquerias in this area. Food quality wise, it's pretty good overall. There are some tasty dishes here that will certainly warrant the little bit of extra cost here compared to other places. Things that I have tried here are the burritos and the torta. The burritos here are yummy as they they will have ingredients inside the burrito that is slightly different than your cookie cutter burrito at any other place. It really does help adds layers of flavor to it that other places do not offer. However, the best part of it is indeed the fact they grill the outside of the burrito to get that nice flakiness that wrap, and makes it a oh so rewarding experience. Meat portions was okay, but wish it had more especially for the cost. The torta I got was pretty good, as the ingredients inside were pretty typical so nothing really stood out. The break was toasted well, but I do wish it was a bit softer as it may have been to toasted. Should be toasted outside and soft inside, but this one just felt toasted all over. The meat portion also suffers from the same issue as the burrito as that it's not as generous as it could be. However, the flavors and taste were fine. It's certainly a nice place for those who want a bit of a different style of their Mexican cuisine. They have some flavors here that will be atypical of most of the cookie cutter taquerias around. While they are a bit expensive comparatively, the portions are actually decent (minus the meats). You can certainly be filled with just a single burrito. Worth a visit.

A Great Weekend Lunch with Flavorful Dishes and Amazing Warm Dips…read more We had lunch here on a weekend and found plenty of tables available both inside and outside. Don't let the underwhelming plaza and ambiance fool you--the staff are great, and the food itself is incredibly flavorful and tasty. As soon as you are seated, they immediately serve you warm tortilla chips alongside salsa and a warm, cheesy bean dip that is absolutely amazing. The entrees completely delivered on flavor: * Wet Super Burrito: I got this with steak, and it was delicious. It comes loaded with salsa, sour cream, and guacamole. My only minor critique is that the guacamole was just okay, and hopefully they can improve that flavor in the future. * Ground Beef Enchilada: My son got this, served with rice and beans. It came out perfectly warm, very flavorful, and he absolutely loved it. * Chicken and Shrimp Fajitas: My wife ordered these, and they were served on a fantastic, sizzling skillet. To drink, we ordered a pitcher of frozen margaritas, which was nice and refreshing. We also finished the meal with the flan for dessert, which was not bad at all. Our only real complaint was a situational one regarding the outdoor seating. The wind was causing the outdoor drapes to repeatedly hit the metal frame, creating a loud, disturbing noise throughout our meal. Aside from that background noise, it was a wonderful lunch. If you are looking for excellent flavor and great service, this place is well worth the visit!

I pointed out to he waiter that he had a crumb on his chin and he wiped and chuckled like a nice champ. The music is pleasant but a bit louder than needed so I brought out the earplugs. The entire indoor setup is nice. Our food is arriving after what seems like a long wait meaning either the food is being served fresh, hot and tasty, or we are in for a mediocre experience. Our two plates arrived. Chilli relleno and Grilled chicken enchilada. I'm not a fan of the aesthetics of the smallish squair white plates. Reminds me of trying to look upscale. We own plates like these and that didn't work. Wife's enchilada plate was covered with three hot and very tasty chicken filled food bombs plus sides. The chili plate looked a little weak (too much plate showing) but that was the tastiest chilli relleno ever in 40 years of me enjoying these. Served hot with cheese filled up to the ying yang, an extra spiciness I have never had before that I loved and me wishing I had a spoon to scrape up the end of the sauce. Unfortunately the smallish rice and bean servings on both plates were luke warm and tasted so so. . I had similar hotter to those with tv dinners back in the day. The two plates and a coke at $43 has me scratching my chin on whether we will make that drive again. That is unless it is Sunday. Then possibly. .

After giving it some thought, I decided to return and explore what it was about Isla that everyone raved over. This time around, I ordered the fish tacos, and I was hooked! Isla's fish tacos are phenomenal--easily the best in the area and a must-have every single time. I usually go for the tilapia, though I've sampled the red snapper as well. They come out super crispy on the outside yet remain incredibly moist inside, with the salsa and toppings melding together perfectly. I also visited their new location today and was pleasantly surprised by the ample parking and comfortable seating. The space is beautiful, making it even more enjoyable to stop by for those irresistible fish tacos. Here's a quick rundown of my ratings: Fish (all varieties): 8.7/10 Birria: 7/10 (good, but not their standout item) Carne Asada Super Burrito: 5.8/10 When it comes to satisfying my fish taco cravings, Isla remains the only choice.

The parking lot in front is small. There was one open spot so we grabbed it. I think there may be more parking out back but I don't know for sure. They seated us right away but it was the last open table - and it wasn't a great table, right by the front door and everyone waiting for take out or a table! But we were happy to be seated. They brought chips and 4 bottles of salsa in squeeze bottles. They were all delicious but one was super spicy so be on the lookout for that! They took our order, brought us water and our beers. All were very good. Then the food came! My 2 favorites were: the taco pork belly (pork belly, cilantro, guacamole and red onion) and the norteno taco (Anaheim pepper, cheese, carne asada, cabbage and onion). $7.25 each. These were out of this world good so be sure to order them. My birria burrito $15.75 was huge and delicious. I brought most of it home. We saw some families and couples here. Great table service.
