So disappoint that this isn't La Costa anymore. The place only had 1 car in their parking lot on a Sunday afternoon, that should have been our sign to RUN. We had already driven out to Martinez so we decided to give it a chance. Ordered a carnitas "super quesadilla" that is supposed to include Guacamole but it did not. The quesadilla was the worst quesadilla I have ever tasted. It was sitting on top of a pile of GREASE. The staff attempted to make it better by offering to remake it with another choice of meat. Unfortunately, the chicken was SO greasy too. It was a cheese-less & greasy quesadilla, how do you mess up making a quesadilla?? We will not be back...

The food was really good! I have been to a lot of Mexican restaurants and for this place to be in the city of Martinez, even tho I'm from #socal, this still taste like home. The service was great, asked if I wanted to eat in so they bring me chips, and they have a salsa bar so I could get what ever color of salsa I wanted (always get the green). The way the place is, inside was a little old fashioned but still have a home feeling to it. I like they are very festive and still had up the Cinco de Mayo flags up! I ordered the carnitas plate and got a coke, I was hungry and I finished the plate! Thank you again for the food, tasting like home! I'll be sure to come back!

YUCK! No sour cream or guac on a Super?

Never again! $42.00 for 3 GROSS burritos AND . . . . . . . they gave us the wrong meat! Where's the guacamole and sour cream that was supposed to be included in the Super burrito? We ordered burritos without rice and THEY ALL HAD RICE. Ownership, please wake up and READ: your night staff is not paying attention. These burritos went into the garbage. What a huge waste of money and time. Nunca más!

Wow!! forgotten about this place. Work across the road and wanted a quick lunch. Ordered the ceviche tostada. $6.00!

After getting our Covid & flu vaccines, my husband & I decided to get lunch from a restaurant nearby, Los Caporales. FOOD I ordered Camarones ala Diabla & horchata, to drink. It was delicious! There was ample serving of shrimps. And boy, it was super SPICY! My husband got cheese enchilada, which he said was delicious too. SERVICE We ordered from the cashier who then brought our order to our table. When I came back to the counter to buy a refill of horchata (yeah, since that plate was so SPICY...& I loved it!), he didn't even charge me for it. That was nice. I dropped a few dollar bills for him as a tip, when we finished. Thank you ( guy who had a black hair, pony-tailed, maybe about 5'10." in height. He was wearing a mask so I couldn't see his face). AMBIENCE It had a space to eat outside as well. We would definitely come back here, at Los Caporales & for sure am recommending it to our friends.

Solid little taqueria. Good al pastor, carnitas are even better. Salsa bar with mild, medium, hot, and green, plus radishes and limes. But dude. A $16 bowl of soup, yet they charge you for chips? Minus 1 star.

Piece of metal was in my chicken burrito. Felt too thick to be foil, and i unwrapped the burrito well below the area that I was eating. Unacceptable.

I just had the camaron super burrito and it was satisfying. The seating areas are much better than the typical taqueria. Welcome to the neighborhood.

I know that a lot of people reading this review are looking for a comparison between the restaurants. Usually, others are split on this opinion when I mention it. So here's my why. The seafood menu selection is the same as most crab boil spots. I ordered the deveined/headless shrimp on my last visit. The spicy sauce was def spicy! Shrimp was cooked perfectly, not overcooked like I've had at other places. They give a generous portion of sauce, which is necessary to pour over some white rice! The appetizer selection at Cajun Crack'n is elite! The fried oysters are my favorite! I've also had the wings, fried mozzarella and Crawfish fried rice. All delicious choices! Can't wait for my next visit!

The garlic noodles were a hit. The food is like a perpetual motion machine. You get hungrier the more you eat. The Po' boy sandwich got a thumbs down from my son. He felt the large bread amount and it's dry texture overpowered the other sandwich ingredients. A large amount of water pooled on the floor in the back of the restaurant while we were dining necessitating what sounded like a shop vac to pick up the water. Too noisy but Accidents happen. There was an Open During Construction sign outside. Rebecca our server was pleasant and attentive. She is a keeper. The bus person cleaning the behind us toward the front door table was chewing on something. She paused her duties for a moment, staring off into space in my direction. Eating while on duty and not on break in front of customers is unprofessional. I tried to make eye contact with her out of curiosity if the chewing would stop when our eyes met. Alas my experiment failed. Something above my head and to the rear of the establishment was more interesting. Maybe some of that water pooling action was still happening. The Men's restroom stall is heavily grafittied. I wish I could think of advice for restaurant owners who suffer this scourge. Perhaps paint the stall inside a solid color and have a can of spray paint on hand? When you pay using the notepad computer the waitress carries, you need to sign on the screen before you hand over your credit card. That is odd. There should be a button on the "Tip screen" for those who want to "Cash Tip" They have a decent draft beer selection which I hope to enjoy on our next visit.

We visit about 2-4 times a year, and this most recent visit was especially memorable as we celebrated my husband's birthday and my retirement after 36 years of service. Our party of four started with the calamari and chili cheese fries, which were the perfect appetizers to share. For our entrees, we enjoyed the snapper, prime rib, a seafood platter loaded with clams, shrimp, and crab, and the Crab Feast with garlic noodles. Every dish was fresh, flavorful, generously portioned, and beautifully prepared. If you're a seafood lover, you won't be disappointed! What truly makes The Dead Fish stand out is the exceptional hospitality. The staff was attentive, friendly, and professional throughout our entire visit, making us feel welcomed from the moment we arrived. We also chose to dine on the outdoor patio, where the scenic waterfront and bridge views created the perfect backdrop for such a meaningful celebration. The relaxed atmosphere, delicious food, and outstanding service made the occasion even more special. It's easy to understand why so many people praise The Dead Fish for its attentive staff, beautiful water views, lively ambiance, and outstanding seafood. We always leave with wonderful memories and look forward to our next visit. Highly recommend for celebrations, date nights, family gatherings, or anyone looking for great seafood with an unforgettable waterfront view!

My most recent visit for lunch on a Saturday was very busy! The line was out the door but they move fast and the food comes out even quicker. There are plenty of outdoor and indoor tables where you sit wherever you. There is self service water with and without lemon throughout the location. Pros: Quick and friendly service Tasty lobster rolls, lobster chowder, and crab sandwiches Con: Parking is VERY limited. They have a small lot in the back and you can park against their fence but over the weekend it's almost impossible. There is street parking but also a little hard if you want to park directly nearby. I parked about 1.5 blocks away on the next street parallel to the restaurant. The naked lobster roll is one of my favorites because you can really taste the meatiness of the lobster. You can tell it is fresh in every way with the buttery brioche bread. The tray comes loaded with chips and a side of Cole slaw. If you come with friends, I recommend getting a bowl of the lobster soup to share. Dipping the chips into the soup is chef's kiss! If you are a smaller party, you can always get the 1/2 lobster roll and cup of soup. But the better deal is to get the soup to share on the side since the lobster roll is $39 vs the 1/2 lobster roll and cup of soup is $37. If choosing between the which lobster roll to get, I opt for the naked roll because of the freshness and it is not as heavy. The dressed lobster roll has a good amount of flavor and pairs well with the bread, it's a little heavier because of the mayo and butter brioche bread. They don't use a ton of mayo in it so it's not as bad as you may think. I've had the twin tails in the past and I can definitely say it was very easy to get the lobster out. Sometimes some places make it more difficult and people don't want to really dig in with their hands. Safe to say it was very easy to eat. Over the years, I've seen the price go up with inflation unfortunately. So I definitely still come but as a little treat to myself or if I were to come celebrate a special occasion.
