If youre a vegan in southern nj, this is a place to try. The first time we came here we sat down to eat and the inside looked very rustic and cozy. My bf and I ordered the vegan cheesesteak which we split, truffle fries and the kids chicken tenders. When we placed the order we asked if the truffle fries had and cheese on them and they said no. Until we started eating them we didnt know there was sprinkled cheese on them, goat cheese we later on discovered after we had bowel problems a few hours later. But I think this was an honest mistake made by an unknowing employee. The cheesesteak however was very savory and flavorful, and chickn tenders crispy. The second time we ordered we just decided to get the vegan cheesesteak and for takeout since the place is expensive. This time though, they barely put any seitan or cheese on it and it was mostly bread. We bought the cheesesteak to split but since it was barely filled with anything the 1/2 of it didnt fill us up this time. My bf hasnt wanted to eat there again ever since but I did think the food was rly good the first time, so maybe if youre dining in and not getting takeout you will have a better experience there. read more

So we have been going to Cinder Bar a few times once a month for a date night. This evening we went out with some friends. Get there to check in one person was friendly the other three were just like is your party here yet. Which I understand more then one person should be inside too but wife was coming after she parked since I made the reservation. So sit down our waiter was the best excellent customer service from her this evening. Got our food right out to us. So while we talking sitting they turned on the game one of our friends asked the young lady if they could turn the tv down was pretty loud with commercial. The young lady kinda was like her attitude was crappy so we asked for the manger. Who was nice came over explained and she even agreed it was pretty loud and the person. Was new and would have a talk about customer service. My point is I know everyone is trying to get back into work and dealing with the public again but they have to remember Customer Service is the key to making folks come back. Just keep that in mind Oh by the way the food was great the wings the shrimp the soup. And even the desert the waiter recommended. Was on point. So tell your chef and cooks in back mode job. We went here for the first time in April for lunch and there were a lot of diners, but it wasn't packed and they were seating people spaced out enough. The food and drinks were good but I wasn't blown away by anything we had. I had the chicken and waffles and the dish didn't have much flavor and the breading on the chicken tasted almost burnt. My husband had candied bacon and he said that was good and he had a chocolate chip Skillet cookie which was good of course. Horrible experience at Cinder Bar Williamstown. This is our second time at Cinder Bar and after a less than stellar first experience decided to give them another chance. Big mistake the 2nd time was worse. We started with the crispy green beans that were okay but only because of the dipping sauce. The breading needed seasoning and either the green beans were old or over cooked. We then ordered the Shrimp Po Boy and subbed asparagus for the fries (because of the first experience we had being cold and lacked salt) and a Bada Bing Shrimp Salad. Salad presented was romaine and kale mix with a small order of bada bibg shrimp on top. No pickled vegetables or spicy peanuts per the menu. Salad lacked dressing and needed more to make it palatable. The shrimp po boy - what a disgrace and disrespect (for anyone who has ordered a po boy before - this is not it - almost disrespectful. The picture below is exactly how it was presented to us. We stared at for a few minutes while waiting for our dressing. Yes what you see is a buttered hot dog roll (yes that size), 4 "jumbo" shrimp (they were not) and a big thick slice of tomato (which was not heirloom) and little or no crawfish aioli. The server asked how everything was and we told her we were not happy. She said "yeah our sandwiches are kinda small' - walked away then came back with the bill. This is a big no no for me - when a customer verbally tells you they are not happy a manager should be called to rectify the issue. I went home HUNGRY, disappointed and disgusted. My husband doesn't usually pick a place. When he said Cinder Bar I initially thought and said, too crowded, but then changed my mind so we headed over. They had to clear a table even though there were plenty empty. I almost turned around and walked out because the hostesses seemed more interested in their hair and ipads. We decided to sit at the bar. We were finally greeted and given full menus but it still took awhile for our server/bartender to return. I had a Limoncello Martini (very easy going down) that quickly arrived but the Cape May IPA that hubby ordered took a bit. I ordered the Apricot Grilled Cheese, gooey, warm and yummy. Hubby had the burger and said it was possibly the best burger bun he's ever had. We also had the buffalo cauliflower dip which was very inviting and extra yummy. Bob finished with a Yards Lager. My faith has been restored in eating out. Our last couple experiences haven't been great. I know places are short staffed and out of many menu items. We had a pleasant experience at Cinder Bar. Our waitress Alannah checked on us several times throughout our meal and she was so friendly. The food and drinks are always amazing at Cinder Bar. We love the atmosphere. I have been to cinder bar a bunch of times always had a good time and good service but today I went in for brunch and sat at the bar and the bartender was working by herself with a very empty bar and she was not attentive at all we have been sitting here with dirty dishes and empty drinks for about 15 mins and she rather take selfie's behind the bar and then disappear for a few mins ...maybe she forgot she was working ! We've been waiting to try this place for a while and my wife and I were finally able to check it out. Kind of disappointed, probably wont go back. We went for dinner on a Monday night. Place was relatively busy which we thought was a good sign. We were seated promptly, the atmosphere was really cool. The prices overall were very reasonable from the drinks to the food. The food was just....eh. My chicken sandwich had a chicken cutlet that was super thin and was mainly breading, not to mention it was wildly overcooked. A thicker piece of chicken would have made the sandwich much better. My wife got this shrimp sandwich which included 6 tiny pieces of shrimp. It was alright, but just obvious they were frozen shrimp. Our sandwiches were mainly bread. On a positive note our server Skylar was awesome, very attentive and friendly. The only reason we would return would be to try the pizza. read more

We decided to go to the cinder bar after my daughters dance recital. It was on the way home, and we had heard some good things. We ordered our appetizers and our food and were informed that they would come out as soon as they were cooked so they would be hot. Sounds great, but they all came out at the same time. Not my favorite thing when dining. My son had ordered a cheesesteak, because he loves them. When it arrived to the table, he went to put ketchup on it and we noticed that there was barely any meat on it. $17 for a cheesesteak and they try to serve it with no meat? We told them that they forgot to put meat on it and they apologized and made a new one.... Which had just a minuscule amount more meat. They didn't charge for the cheesesteak or the ice cream, which was nice of them to do to rectify the situation, but that cheesesteak is not worth $17. They should be ashamed of themselves for charging so much. The rest of the food was, however, worth it. Would've been 5 stars except for the cheesesteak. read more

They cooks never sent the calamari. i was going to ask to just take it off our bill but after it was mentioned, the waitress was more than happy to bring out the food. I feel that they just reheated the old order of calamari which made it shriveled, dried out, and inedible. This restaurant was highly over rated and exaggerated. We ordered chicken wings, fries and the pizza. Pizza had to get sent back to be cooked longer. The pizza was too sloppy, falling apart and cheese falling off as I pulled it apart. The wings weren't cooked enough. I didn't care for the dry rub , it tasted too sweet and sugary. We had a party of 11 on a Monday evening. I understand it was a big party and the place is still new but I was very disappointed in the service. We had to order drinks and water more than once because the server forgot are order. The appetizers came out quickly and were good. Then it was time for the entrees. Each meal came at a different time with the last meal (for my 80 year old mother) about 15 minutes after the other meals. Turns out they forgot to put in her order. We were very pleasantly surprised by how nice everything was arranged during this time period that we're challenged by the Covid-19 Virus. Everyone cooperated with social distance and mask requirements which made us all very comfortable. Our server, Victoria, was exceptional. My fiancé and I dined here recently and had a pleasurable experience. Our server, Amy, was an absolute gem. She was kind and on top of the game. I had a blood orange margarita which I have dreamed of ever since. It was pretty and tasty. The lobster Mac n cheese was also delicious. I got the short rib cheesesteak to eat. The short rib was good but it was way too much bread and not enough meat. My fiancé got the chicken and waffles which was a little lacking in flavor.
