Very poor communication and customer service at LaserAway Novato…read more I had an appointment scheduled, and when I showed up today, the person at the front desk told me, "Oh, your appointment was canceled. We sent you a text message." I told her that I never received a message. Her response was, "Did you check your spam folder?" How am I supposed to know that my appointment has been canceled if the only notification is a text message that I never received? If a business is canceling an appointment, especially one that was scheduled in advance, I would expect clear communication. A phone call would have been the appropriate way to make sure I was actually notified. Instead, I drove to my appointment only to find out after arriving that it had been canceled. The front desk representative also did not make any real effort to resolve the situation. I was left feeling like my time did not matter. Very poor customer service and communication. I am extremely dissatisfied with my experience at LaserAway Novato and would warn other customers to confirm their appointments ahead of time, because apparently a cancellation text that may end up in your spam folder is considered sufficient communication.

Taking off required language rather than engaging with me like a person whom she wanted to have as a repeat client. At the end, the receptionist asked if I wanted to give a tip which I wasn't used to because my go-to place doesn't accept tips. I also don't understand why they need to scan your driver's license before your appointment. It felt unnecessary, uncomfortable, and somewhat invasive for this type of service business. Speaking of unnecessary and uncomfortable things, can someone please tell me what, "By the grace of God," in all caps, means in the context of aesthetic services? It's written huge on the wall behind the reception area. Overall, the promotional free session did not change my mind and they did not gain a new customer. The office doesn't open until 9 but I was booked for 9 am and knew I had to come in a little early to sign the medical documents. The very kind receptionist was happy to see me at 8:50 am and helped me to sign the documents. She kindly brought me water while I waited for the esthetician to be ready. My consultation with the esthetician made me feel cared about as she took in my skin concerns and products I use. Sometimes during this process at other spas, one can feel judgement for their personal routine but she was so kind and genuinely wanted to make sure I had a good routine. She had excellent techniques and my skin was so clean and hydrated. She did give me extractions that I was nervous about but I know I needed it, she had the perfect touch to my skin as she was trying to make it as painless as possible for me. At the end she gave me some recommendations for my future skincare and I hope to see her again soon so she can reassess my skin again. Overall I had a great experience and would love to book again.
