The aioli added so much flavor, and the fries were great -- the seasoning on them made them extra addicting. My fiancé got the prime rib French dip and could not stop talking about how good it was. Had a great time stopping by here for dinner! I am vegan and got the mesa bowl with balsamic vinaigrette which was delicious. We ended up sitting to eat on the patio which was great, there was a good amount of flies and bugs though. Our server was very nice and quick in getting food out as well. My salad came in a cardboard box, as did a hamburger and fries. the fries were very soggy and it was extremely difficult to get the salad out of the cardboard box successfully. I'd like to reinforce my last review. Doolittles is a reliable restaurant that I can always count on for good food and good service. Last night was another clear example of this. I went with my always reliable rotisserie chicken and it was juicy and flavorful, as usual. The garlic mashed potatoes could have been a bit warmer, but were tasty. My wife had one of her favorites, a seasonal squash soup that she loves, when available. Also, Doolittles always excels when it comes to service. It's the little things that count -- a welcome that sounds genuine, the willingness to check on a special request, refilling a glass of pop before being asked, bringing out fresh, hot, just cooked bread (a rarity these days), checking in to see how things are going, bringing the check promptly, and offering to pack up leftovers, as opposed to just bringing over a container. First off this is the cutest little place where you can sit outside and dine on the patio under a stream of adorable lights or you can sit inside at one of their oversized booths or at the bar. We opted for a booth and immediately was greeted by our server Mike. Mike was absolutely fantastic! He promptly got our drink and food order. Stopped in there today. I like the look. Bathrooms were clean. We got sat pretty quickly. Our server was polite and prompt. I had the blueberry mojito, probably the best I have ever had. My fiance had some white wine, very good. The calamari was great. I had the top sirloin with mash potatoes and green beans. My fiance had the salmon with fingerling potatoes and Brussels sprouts. Overall, I enjoyed most of my food but for the price and flavors- it didn't feel satisfying or anything special. Shout out to Katie she is amazing and made our experience that much better! We stopped in Saturday afternoon, the restaurant wasn't busy and we got seated right away. We got started with the buffalo wings. They were delicious and perfectly cooked, however they were sweet and spicy not buffalo spicy. I didn't like the butternut squash soup, but I loved the scallops with piquillo cream and the blueberry mojitos. My husband and I agreed they were sweet and strong! I had the Some Bacon Jam Burger topped with smoked gouda cheese and lettuce served with fries. Our server asked if I wanted pink or no pink, and I said pink. However, although I had ordered a side salad alongside my entrée, I did not receive one. Upon notifying that I did not receive the salad, I did receive a credit for it. Dinner after a long day at work should be great not just mediocre! There were three of us and we ordered drinks first-they were delish and came out very promptly. We then ordered our meals and all of us ordered a starter salad. I'll say, for me, that was the best part of the meal. For my meal, I ordered the ribs and chicken combo. We were not asked if we wanted dark or white meat and it also was not stated on the menu. It came out with 1/4 of a chicken and it was dark. The ribs had a great smoky flavor, but there was so much fat time on the ribs and they were very chewy. I would not order them again. The sides were decent. So I tried it.. Today my company had a team outing, and one of those things resulted in us eating together. Let me tell you about. Headed over to Dolittles, which seems to be a staple in the Eagan/Golden Valley Areas. For our outing we patronized the Golden Valley location. Parking.. seemed a bit tight. Around the the 1 o'clock hour they had many who came eager to eat. In the restaurant ranged from a single person at the bar to parties of more than 10. We arrived a little early but the hosted was swift regarding finding accommodations. Seating seemed enough but maybe in some spaces tight. Our group was large so we moved from the waiting area to the bar. It may not have been the best idea, but it worked while we waited. At the bar we with greeted with specialty drinks like most places as well as a lengthy list of wines. Finally seated, we wasted no time getting to the appetizers. I wished I could have grabbed a picture of the Woodfire Buffalo Wings & the Parmesan Artichoke Dip. They were so good that we quickly indulged. The apps alone get 9/10! Entree. I opted for the Salmon with Herb Cream. I also changed my fingerling potatoes to mash to really enjoy the herb cream. The salmon was definitely delicious. In my own opinion a spice kick or a added kick to the herb cream sauce would really elevate the dish. When you tasted the cream it was slightly bland. I used salt and pepper to add a little flavor. The mash was standard. I would indeed add something that would give a pop the overall dish. Overall I found this eatery interesting and definitely work going back to try again. I was able to easily get a reservation for dinner on a Friday night, however the place was pretty full. Luckily the space is large, but it can get a tad loud. Our waitress was very nice and quick, we had no issues getting food and drink, and even having some down time talking after our meal at the table. For dinner, I ordered the BBQ Chicken Salad. This was delicious! The portion was very large, so it worked well as a full dinner meal. I loved that the chicken included was rotisserie chicken too. Everyone at our table loved our meals, and the price is right for a large portion of quality food. We didnt have a reservation and there was ample seating indoors or outdoors to accomodate us. We opted for inside right next to a view of the outdoor patio in a large booth. Today I ordered with chicken, over the lunch hour (although not terribly busy) and it was tough to get the server to come 'round, and the dish was served with the vast majority of content being hard Kale, and the chicken was a few pieces of dark meat with cartilage, and stringy things, and it was gross. Zero breast meat. I pushed aside the scant chicken, and vast kale, and was left with little else. Not a single Biquinho or anything else at all. Very little corn/black beans. Service was good, however extremely disappointed in the Flying Tiger Chicken & Peapods entree. This dish was always a favorite of mine, however they changed how it was made. It used to be flavorful with the peanut sauce, the peapods had peas in them, the wontons were larger pieces, and the proportion was double of what is now being served. The proportion however is not the big issue with this review. The order that we received was "very" greasy, with hardly any thai peanut sauce flavoring, which made the dish very bland. The peapods virtually had no peas in them, and the wontons were only tiny bits and pieces, like out of the bottom of crushed up bag of chips. Came to Doolittles for a late bite, and was happy to discover they had a late night happy hour with half-off appetizers. Ordered the beef tenderloin crostini, tuna poke, and walleye fingers. All were prepared well and fresh, and the crostini and poke had great flavors. The walleye fingers were completely bland, though, even with lemon, salt, and tartar sauce.
