Food wise, it's basic pub food. I enjoyed my pretzel sticks but my date was not particularly hungry and I did not end up finishing them. Would have had I been in more of a meal-oriented mood. I came here for happy hour and I had a great experience! Our server was great, I wish I caught his name. He was very attentive and made sure our drinks were always full. We got our food fast even though it was meat raffle night and it was pretty busy. I got the chicken tender basket appetizer and I was very impressed. We've been coming here for the past 13 years, which makes writing this review particularly disappointing. For years, this was one of those consistent, comfortable, familiar neighborhood places with great food, great service, and great cocktails. Tonight was a jarring shift in the service and overall vibe of the restaurant. The service has declined significantly, but even more concerning has been the shift in the overall atmosphere. There is a distinctly different energy in the restaurant now...one that feels less welcoming. Examples include: - Bartender serving us openly complaining with expletives throughout our visit to colleagues and other customers about her job and her colleaugues. - Bartender serving us seemed to not be interested in our drinks or order and relied upon our persistent attempts to capture the attention of 2 of her colleagues to a) get our order, and b) get our tab. - Majority of bartending staff aligned with her customer service. Learned more about inside beef with both expletives and specfics, than getting any food or drinks ordered. I know what this place used to feel like. That's why the change is so noticeable. Restaurants evolve. Staff changes. Ownership and clientele can change. I understand all of that. But there's a difference between a place changing and a place beginning to feel as though some people belong more than others. When the service staff amplify this reality, it feels intentional and a business model. Unfortunately, a longtime favorite no longer feels like the place we've known for the past dozen years. The MOD was kind to listen to our concerns and experience. The food was great. I hope there is room for growth. read more

Solid pub with something for everyone. We (2 adults and one kiddo) dined in on Sat 3/7/2026 and were pleasantly surprised the wait wasn't too long ~6:30 pm. Both adults had drinks - Pub 42 rum punch and (I think?) a beer. I love fruity drinks but Pub 42's version was too heavy on the alcohol. I'd ask for less alcohol next time. We ordered French onion soup, Brussels sprouts (no bacon), Rachel, & kids grilled cheese. Both the Brussels sprouts and French onion soup were tasty! Food took longer than average and only two of the three entrees came out. Older gentlemen was waiting 5-7 minutes before we even got an explanation what was going on, server rang food to the kitchen incorrectly. Add another 12 minutes and his food finally showed up. This is a great spot for food or drinks or both! They have a large food menu with vegetarian and gluten free options. Some good appetizers are cheese curds or onion rings. The sandwich I always get is the BLT it has millionaire bacon on it and it's incredible! You have options when it comes to drinks a cocktail, tap beer or canned drink. Service is good and there is a bar part and restaurant so if your looking for a quiet area the restaurant is nice if you want noise and energy sit in the bar. read more

Well I have not been in this place in quite a while. we went here for happy hour/dinner. It was reasonably busy, but was pleasantly surprised that we were seated quickly. Out server was super friendly and attentive, and we compensated her thusly. Drinks and beers are pretty much standard fare, and there will be something you will enjoy. We really could not find any entrees that looked appealing, so we opted for a bunch of appetizers. I have to say I am glad we went that route. we ordered a couple flat bread pizzas and they were amazing. the Maple bacon, tomato flat bread was so good, and the buffalo chicken flat bread was right up there with it. Both had great textures, and lots of contrasting flavors. I will say however, that the star of the show for dinner was their turkey wild rice soup. A number of people had said it was pretty good, but you kind of have to take those comments with a grain of salt...or a grain of rice in this instance. I usually use Lund's Byerlys soup as the bellweather, but this was really an outstanding soup. In fact, if I am in the area, I will stop by and get a bowl to go, just so I have it as an option some time in the future. One should really try this soup. read more

2nd time here recently. They do The Initials game from KFAN on Tuesday nights. It's a fun evening. Nice menu selections. Decent beer offerings. Tuesday night is taco night, $2.50 each. This was our first visit. Would give 3.5 if I could. We started with the Buffalo chicken flatbread and the nachos. Flatbread was delicious. Crispy and nice Buffalo flavor. Nachos were average. Good nachos are hard to find I swear. These were pretty dry, not enough cheese. We all then had the mix and match. We had the BLT, reuben and chicken tortilla soup. Chicken tortilla soup was ok, needed some more seasoning was super creamy though. Reuben was good. BLT was interesting. The bacon was a little sweet and very peppery. Overwhelming peppery unfortunately. Hard to eat even a half sandwich. All apps are $2 off during happy hour which is nice. I side bar area is very nice. Lots of TV for football. Pub42 was an exceptional place to attend a wedding reception. The staff was amazing and super helpful throughout the entire event. The space off the dining area allowed for a formal but relaxed atmosphere that allowed us all to socialize and enjoy the evening. The staff we had in the room took orders quickly and the food was out in a very short time. Rob the GM, was there making sure the whole.event went off smoothly. Thanks again for attentive, friendly, and incredibly helpful servers, cooks and bartenders on the night we attended the wedding reception. I go to Pub 42 a lot. I love the bar, the staff is very friendly. Last Saturday I went for a late lunch by myself. The dining room wasn't very full, but it did take awhile to get to me. Been on a burger kick recently, so I've been trying out new places. I came around an hour before closing, so the service was a bit slower but I would say the food was good. I got the millionaires bacon burger and added cheese to it. I would say it is priced a little more but was still good! I love bacon so anything that has bacon I will eat! I got fries with my meal and they gave a good amount. I would like to go back and try different options next time I come back. Overall my experience could of been better. Surprised to find other options such as Korean Vegetable Mandoo, Sesame Chicken Rice Bowl and Spicy Shrimp Tacos as well as plant base and vegetarian dishes. Their tap beer selection was off the hook. Asked for a hazy IPI and said there were eight. Asked for blood orange IPA and said there were three. Professional service and comfortable atmosphere. Came for apps last Friday night! Very busy, but didn't take terribly long to get our food. Was able to make a reservation 2 hours prior. The buffalo chicken wontons are our fav so had to reorder. The cheese for the pretzel sticks was so yummy. The pretzels were nice and soft. The shrimp basket was super good and the shrimp was juicy. I've been here a handful of times and although nothing super unique about this place, it never fails to give a 5/5 experience! It has a hybrid restaurant/sports bar feel with always great service and food. Some noteworthy tries are their walleye fingers, crispy chicken sandwich (seasonal but you get an entire extra chicken piece!) and their cheese curds. Incredible place to sit and watch some March Madness! Me and my buddy's came from the Wild game and after a decisive victory we found a second decisive victory in these cheese curds! Generous portions, great for sharing, and they're light enough that I still had plenty of room for my Baked Mac and Cheese, which was also impeccable! Before I forget, the bathroom was out of this world! When you think of a "pub bathroom" you inevitably think of the antithesis of Pub 42's bathroom. Our wonderful waitress told us they remodeled the bathrooms in the last year, and it shows! My apartment isn't as nice as the restroom here. Wow! This place was fantastic! I could not decide what to eat because there were so many mouth-watering dishes! Out waitress, Samantha (what a sweetheart!) was very helpful in helping me decide what to have. The whole staff is very up beat and the atmosphere is laid back and comfortable. And OMG, the food! I had the Nashville flatbread I had was so tasty! Each dish that our party ordered looked so good. Not that I would have traded mine but I was especially jealous of the Millionaire burger with a side of giant onion rings. Our table had a little disappointing meal at pub 42. We all decided to try something a bit different and it was our mistake. The good: The Bad: The chicken nacho tray was quite large, but you are paying a lot for nachos. it needed significantly more cheese and less lettuce. It tasted more like lettuce and chips. The whole table agreed. The $17 price the value is too high. 1/5 The double foghorn chicken sandwich looked fantastic until you bit into it. all you could taste, was the fried breading and not the chicken. If you gave this to someone without telling them, they would not know it was a chicken sandwich. The $18 price to value just isn't worth it. 1/5 We have had good solid food here but whatever they changed they should go back to what they were good at. read more

Visited Pub42 with a few colleagues and shared three appetizers: the nachos, popovers with stout honey butter, and the pretzels. The pretzels were my favorite--soft, warm, and flavorful! While I didn't love everything I tried, the portion sizes were generous and I left feeling full. What really made the visit enjoyable was the service--our waitress was kind and attentive, and other staff checked in on us as well, which really spoke to the positive work environment there. Met a buddy at Pub 42 (New Hope) to catch up over a beer on a Tuesday night. Place was surprisingly busy. Had a Castle Danger Crème Ale and Lydia, our server recommended the Nachos.
