This is my go-to movie theater. There was one week when I went to the palladium for Shang-Chi in IMAX and then the next day came to this Cinemark and it was night and day. The regular option is miles better than palladium's IMAX (picture, sound, comfortability, everything). I guess this review is more me just roasting palladium but this Cinemark has amazing, big, comfy reclining seats, great audio/visual, and is my favorite place to watch movies if I'm not trying to blow my wallet. I have been to this theater a number of times now and the only thing negative that I can say about it is that it is a long drive from my house. The local Cinemark is not open on Tuesdays anymore, so I travel to Katy to visit this theater. The theater is clean, the staff is helpful and there is just nothing to complain about. Theaters are not very full these days, so I have yet to deal with other customers so much since most of the movies have a limited audience. On the few occasions where the theaters were at COVID capacity (maybe 1/3 full), I still did not have any issues. I have purchased tickets online using the app and walked in to receive the hard stub and whatever concessions I ordered. The process was fairly smooth. The theaters appear to be well maintained and the bathrooms and common spaces are spotless. A+ service and absolutely would recommend. read more

If I could give a 0 I would! The volume in their theaters was unreasonably high. We had to put our hands over our ears the whole two hours of the movie. We came out during the movie three times asking to lower the volume because the entire theatre was empty except for us. The manager Manu and the front desk workers were useless and kept saying they were busy and tried to put the volume down but the entire place had barely any people walking around. Now that we came out of the theater everything is so quiet and we all have terrible migraines! I sincerely hope this place shuts down for our hearing. read more

They have food now which is not decently priced but no movie theatre is so it's manageable. The only thing I would change is they are the only theatre around that doesn't do refills, that I don't like. I booked my daughters 12th birthday party here well in advance in November. I initially spoke with the party coordinator A.Core. She was very professional and gave me all the information I needed. I decided to go up to the cinema since I had never been there to take a peek at the party room. The set up and decor SOLD the party for me. They had the room decorated so bright, cheery and festive. They had these neat Mylar balloons on the wall which said happy birthday. A. Core told me that they write something personal like happy birthday Jasmine on the chalkboard on the door. Seems very well put together. I paid the $50 deposit and put all the seats I wanted on a gift card to be used to pay for seat reservations. So far so good right? Well, when I received the confirmation call on the Tuesday before the Saturday party, I spoke with Ms Carter. She was very nice and helpful also. She informed me that she would not be handling my party on Saturday. I found out that A. Core was also going to be out due to have surgery. I begin to worry who was going to work our party. I was hoping it would be an experienced party person or manager. Let me just say IT WAS NOT! First of all. My party was scheduled for 2pm for guests to arrive and movie starts at 2:35. I asked my guests to arrive around 1:45 so the party attendant could get all drink orders and they would have enough time to take drink orders and pass out party packs before the movie started. I cannot tell you how many times I had to walk down that long hall to the ticket takers podium asking for my party assistant to be paged because we needed something. I though when you worked a party, you were supposed to stay somewhat nearby just in case we needed anything. Let me start with they were slow as hell getting the kids their party packs. I kept having to go search for the little party assistant because I was watching the time and I wanted everyone in their seats before the previews started. Let me also mention that it was SUPER HOT in our rooms and the cinema overall. NOONE informed me that the air was out or even apologized for the inconvenience. We had one little fan for that entire room. I was sweating from my brow because I felt like the party planned. I couldn't enjoy my daughters party because I was constantly walking back and forth to the ticket podium asking where was my party planner. I needed more plates, after pizza and wings there is cake. I had over 30 ppl in my room and they only put a few plates and cups in the room. I could tell our party attendant was not that experienced with working parties. She was nice and she tried but she kept disappearing for long periods of time. At the conclusion of my party, I had to go back to the ticket attendant and ask for my party planner again so I could settle the remainder of my bill. I had to wait quite some time for someone to come. It was NOT my party planned. It was a completely different girl. She didn't have our party paperwork and had no idea how many party packs we had or anything. I asked her where my party assistant was because she had my paperwork and she informed me that she left for the day! FIRST OF ALL, who leaves in the middle of a party? SECONDLY, why would she or another manager come to me and explain that she was leaving and assign someone else to handle my party. THEY LEFT ME HANGING and I had to work harder than I should have on my daughters birthday to get what I needed in the room. We were left without a party planned, without a backup person to assist us if we needed anything and NOONE BOTHERED TO TELL ME! When I paid the balance due, I mentioned how hot it was in our room and the lady casually said they have had someone working on the air conditioning. Shouldn't that have been told to us also instead of just letting us sweat it out. THERE WAS NO APOLOGY for our attendant leaving in the middle of our party. The lady told me that she has worked a long shift today. What???!! We spend a total of $350+ on a movie theater party which didn't include food. We ordered an additional $195 worth of pizza and wings from Pizza Hut in the area. This was very unorganized, unprofessional. They were not prepared for our party and did not have an experienced party person available. I feel even though I booked the party in Nov. our set up was thrown together a few minutes before we arrived. They were still putting up streamers at 2pm. I would like to know why we didn't get the cute happy birthday balloons that were on the wall when I went to preview the room? We were an after thought and not taken care of. I'm very tired today because I feel like I worked my daughters party and I feel of A Core or Ms Carter has been assigned we would have probably had a much better experience. This is your run of the mill movie theater - I have never had an issue getting tickets for showings, especially because you can purchase and reserve seats online in advance. The seats recline and are pretty comfortable. The theaters could use some TLC - the bathroom had a couple of roaches on the floor and the trash bins were overflowing. My theater seat had garbage in both of the cup holders and another seat nearby was covered in popcorn. I think if the theater management paid more attention to the cleanliness and presentation of the theater, things here would be excellent. But, since this is the same thing that happens at basically every theater, there isn't much reason to change. read more

I've been going to this Cinemark for years. I have found it to be just like all the other mega-theaters around. They all look alike. Last Sunday we went to see Dr Strange. I like to go on off-hours to avoid crowds. We noticed the reclining seats are showing excessive wear - they are needing to be replaced. Right before the movie previews started my wife wanted to go to the restroom. On her way out I hear a loud shriek and the entire theater turns to see what was up. A large roach had run across her foot. Honestly, I'd give this a lower rating, but most theaters are just like this. A little worn out and a little dirty. I just avoid the concessions altogether - bad food at premium price. Will I ever go back? Probably. AMC is just the same. I probably prefer Alamo Drafthouse, but I'll pick whichever theater is playing what I want to see at the time I want to see it. read more

Other then that the popcorn is stale, the restrooms are always disgusting and always out of soap, and there are so many birds in the parking lot it is terrifying. Old stable of the Katy area. The theater is huge and the parking lot is huge. Hate to come here during the summer months seem there is not good seating every show time. Guess this is popular place to hang out for the kids. The concession lines can be long and long, if you are in the hurry for the show no pop corn for you. The seating is bit torn from wear through out the years. I went for the 3D because Invisible 2 is better in 3D. Employees and managers wore gloves and masks plastic shields in place at ticket area and concession. Sanitizer wipes through out theater. Automatic social Distancing when you buy your tickets. We came in for a date night movie when we ran out of time to go to our usual theater, palladium. I am glad we did though because once you go through the doors, it's like a blast from the past and very nostalgic. The chairs recline, are comfortable, and better maintained than palladium with their cracked leather chairs. They have a bar that includes frozen drinks which I did not notice until after I got my wine but will definitely try next time! Restrooms are clean and I would definitely come back. The only thing is there's limited showings, only one attendant at the box office, and only a couple of possibly working kiosks so arrive early or buy your tickets online ahead of time. read more

We got settled in our reclining seats which were clean, comfortable and worked as they should. In my opinion the only drawback is the assigned seats. We saw the movie Death Wish the night it opened in this theater. The restrooms were filthy and did not look like and smelled like they had been cleaned in 2 or 3 days. Urine was everywhere and the toilets were filthy. Carpets were littered with popcorn and candy rappers. The floor of the seating area was sticky from spilled drinks and popcorn. The concession area had servers chatting while lines of people were waiting. The concession area did not look clean. There were employees standing around looking bored and in no hurry to look busy. I really enjoyed the movie Girls Trip here with some of my girls. This movie theater is conveniently located off of I10 and Hwy 99. You can tell that this theater is not new by the dated restrooms. However several upgrades have been made to the theaters including lounge seating. If you want great seats, you need to buy your tickets in advanced as seating is assigned. These have to be one of the most comfortable theater loungers I've sat in. I felt as though I was at home. The seats are roomy and recline. There's a really good chance I will never be back. The theatre is decent, good parking etc but where they're failing and losing customers like myself is because of the lack of security and monitoring of their theaters. We went to see the lion king evening showing and talk about classless behavior by other patrons! People were constantly talking, on their cellphones with bright lights during the movie, laughing obnoxiously loud, cursing, etc. we complained twice during the movie, which was a hassle considering we had to leave the theatre twice to do that. It's evident that civilized movie goers aren't going to this theatre as much anymore and due to the lack of management/oversight, more and more classless folks are attending and running the place down. Save your money and time. My wife mentioned we had visited this theater once before, but I couldn't remember much about it because I go to the movies sparingly and alternate between various theaters. Wow! Major upgrade here with the seating. Maybe some of the nicest and most comfortable recliner seating I've sat in. Huge screens, even in non-XD cinemas, fantastic sound, and the seats! Wow. Each row has a nice high back wall to separate you from the row in front/behind making each row feel private and reducing noise/distraction all around you. Each pair of seats has a middle armrest which can be lifted up to make a love seat for cuddling, or to really creep out the stranger next to you. I'd recommend the former. The prices here are great, $10 for a show. The snack bar is pretty big, but go during the week and you'll likely only see one or two folks working behind the counter resulting in long lines. Seats are all reserved, and can be bought in advance online, or at self serve kiosks (for non R-rated movies, you have to buy from a person for R rated films inside). Very clean, and between the combination of picture, sound, and new seats I'll never go to AMC at Katy Mills again. This is my new favorite theater mega-chain in the Katy area. read more

Two of us bought tickets separately and ended up getting tickets for the wrong date. The website must have been glitching because I double checked before. When we got there of course our seats were taken and the only seats available were the second row. Way too close. Talked to the manager and he said he couldn't pull up our tickets, even though 5 minutes before they had pulled up to print out. So he couldn't give us a refund and could only offer us a guest pass, which would be fine except you have to go to the box office to reserve a seat. Why have a manager on site if they can't do anything?! The seats are super comfortable which is why we go, but the customer service is terrible and the food is awful. Do NOT get a margarita!
