Reason enough really but then I learned that if you volunteer you get free beer. Free beer?! I'm all in. After volunteering now three years in a row I've learned there is more to this than beer. We raise funds for needy organizations and have fun doing it. Wow. Back to the beer ... there are hundreds of different taps, bottles and cans of craft beer to be tasted. From the big names like Ballast Point, Dechutes, Shiner and Goose Island to the Houston favorites like Buffalo Bayou, 8th Wonder and Karbach. Most of the brewers have their pro staff nearby to tell you more about there brewing process and some of the subtleties of that blend which you may not pick up right away. Kinds of hops, barrel wood and water source aren't often written onto the can ya know!? Live music is played on two stages while people walk from booth to boot and sample. Other booths have t-shirts, mugs, and other fun stuff for sale. Many of the sponsors have booths set up with deals at venues like Top Golf, Remax and so forth. Food? Man there are all kinds of food stalls available ranging from my favorite the Venezuelan "Essentials" to my second favorite which serves lobster rolls. There also Greek, Asian and of course Texas style brisket.

What a crock, lesson learned be very careful at these home shows across the Nation going on they will tell you anything to get into your home. The show itself was not too bad. Many exhibits and things being sold. Nice way to spend the day. Just did not like being misled about cost of product just to get into my home.

Taking your little ones to see Christmas lights is always a beautiful experience…read more At magical winter lights, we made great memories walking around and seeing the beautiful displays, taking pictures, riding the dinosaur ride on, and even getting to watch an acrobat show?? That last one...so interesting and at a Christmas light display nonetheless. Some may complain about the entry price but when you see all the details, I personally think it's worth it. I've paid for exhibits a lot more underwhelming... I didn't see a single bulb that was burnt out which I think is an expected but still impressive feat.

We went on a Saturday and it was slightly crowded and there were some Lines to the best photo ops. Only about 8 families deep tho, so it probably went fast. We just went to the next photo place. Most impressive were the castle, mermaid, carriage and white crown. The alleyways with curved light features were very cute. I did not see the maze or space shuttle that were mentioned in other posts. It took us about 1 hour and 15 min to view all the lights. I got discounted tickets on Groupon before I got there.

This is my 2nd year visiting the Light Park and it is such a fun experience every time! We tried to…read morego after Christmas to avoid the crowds and around 10pm. The light park is open until 11pm during Christmas week so that definitely helps avoid traffic/crowds. When we got there at 10pm, there was almost no line or wait time. The website said that there was a 15-30 minute wait, but we actually were able to go straight to the front. There were only a few cars infront of us and a few behind us, so we were able to go through the whole drive thru trail within 8-9 minutes. I wish it was a bit longer, but my favorite part is how the lights sync with their radio station (87.5 I believe). The music definitely adds to the experience significantly! Although we got through the trail fairly quickly, I feel like it would be more fun if we went a time where there slightly more crowds so it would take at least a little longer to go through the trail. We drove for almost 50 minutes to get there and finished the whole experience in 1/5 of that time. I would recommend buying the ticket online (per car entry) since it is slightly cheaper than buying it in person. I paid $50 for one car. Overall, a fun experience with friends and/or family!

No line on thanksgiving night…read more The convenience of a drive through light show is amazing not only for the weather but for families that have members who cannot endure long walking. They have a radio station for you to tune to that matches the frequency of the lights. Beautiful animations that I'm sure take a lot of time to create. There are snacks and refreshments available to purchase. Movie theatre prices. A great addition to get in the holiday spirit. Honestly wish the show was a tad longer.

Once a year, Along the streets of the small city of chapel hill...is a cozy little area to look at booth after booth after booth of crafts, foods, hot sauces, and other homemade goodies!! the people are extremely polite and fun to talk to...alcohol is located throughout the area with a few scattered ATM machines. However this was my first time back in probably over 20 year and they have TONS of things geared towards kids now. I'd be a happy kid! Anything under the sun "festival" will be found here. I was hoping to see more Bluebonnet art, but unlike 20 some odd years years ago it's more commercialized now, just think any festival you go to with "some" bluebonnet stuff mixed it. Home decor, yard art, Texas art, graphic tees, clothes, make your own potpourri, candles, jewelry, festival memorabilia,everything! And let's not forget about festival food! Lots of it! Adult beverages can be found everywhere. You can also get a glimpse into Chappell Hill history by going into the Historical Society building and other buildings along Main St. There is a kids section of carnival rides and face painting for those who have kids in tow. Parking as of this year is $5 and contrary to review number 1 - apparently they have it covered now because there were zero issues. Tip 1 - I would suggest arriving first thing in the morning to avoid any congestion. Tip 2 - There are TONS of yard art vendors. Shop around before you impulse buy. Several venders are much cheaper than the venders at the very start of the festival off Main and 290. Tip 3 - Some venders (not all) only take cash - so bring it! There is an ATM in the Historical Society building....unless they move it. Tip 4 - I laughed when I saw women toting around carts and wagons without kids. But I soon found that they were the smart ones! I bought so much cheap yard art that I could hardly carry it. Who's laughing now. Not me!! I kept having to ask what color and brush to use because she wasn't very vocal about what she was doing during the steps . Eventually my husband just did his own thing because he couldn't keep up and I felt the same . I have been to a different location and had the most amazing time but this time was kind of a let down . We had instructor Amy I believe. I do wish to go again but with a different instructor.
