One of the best theaters out there! My boyfriend and I went here on a short trip to see a film and the experience was great. The prices are extremely reasonable for a "luxury" movie theater. They offer a selection of food, gourmet popcorn, ice cream, a full Starbucks menu, a candy bar, and multiple refrigerators with many different drink choices and icees/fountain drinks. The seats inside the theater are huge! They recline and are very comfortable and extremely clean! The screen is huge and the sound is great. Definitely recommend checking it out if you're looking for something to do in the area!! read more

I love this theatre. It's the best theatre in the Coachella Valley. It's nice and cool during the summer months. The sound is great. The screens are large and clear. Their seats are nice and oversized and super comfortable. I'd be giving them 5 stars if the kettle corn machine wasn't broken 50% of the time I go there and that's 1/2 the reason I go to the theatre!!!! I want my experience to be smooth and relaxing when I go. Not a major disappointment 2 out of every 5 times I go if not more. I just left and bought nothing, not even a movie because it was broken again. For movie ticket and concession prices today, you'd think they could afford a decent top of the line kettle corn machine. Reposting this because I accidentally screwed up while trying to update. I have to say that I agree with some of the bad reviews of this movie theater. It's a pretty package from the outside, gorgeous building, big comfy reclining love seat type chairs, a bar(!), and a lot of snack bar options. Seems like it should be a great place to go see a movie. However, the staff at this place could use some basic customer service training. I know that it's a movie theater and probably shouldn't be taken too seriously, but customers do pay A LOT of money to see movies these days and should be treated with at least some respect when they are there. Like maybe smile and say more than two words during transactions or at least focus on them instead of each other. I've only been there in the evenings, but the employees usually always do smell like actual garbage and weed, agreeing with another reviewer, and don't seem to pay attention to how they're acting and what they're saying when customers are around. They also seem to take a much longer time at the snack bar. The lines move soooo slooooow. Those are just my observations. As for my inside scoop, my next door neighbor's son just recently worked here and has confirmed that the company's policies don't really matter much. For anyone saying that the employees look or act stoned, apparently there is a handful of employees that usually are stoned at work and tend to get away with it and other bad behaviors because of their outside friendships with the management staff. He says that some managers even participate with the bad behaviors while at work, like getting high with certain employees. Eek! He had found another job and left because he felt it was an unfair environment to be working in if you aren't buddy-buddy with some of the managers and he felt like he was being treated differently. The last movie I saw here was Pirates of the Caribbean a little while ago and I was reminded why I like going to Century at The River instead. People were constantly looking at their bright phone screens during the movie and there were, not just one, but two screaming kids in there, which was very distracting overall. Plus, the bathroom was horrendous! Maybe it was just a bad day, who knows. This place was really exciting to go to when it first opened, but I guess the hype of being a newer and innovative theater has worn off and anyone paying attention can see why. read more

Came here Father's Day to see the Incredibles 2 and this place is great, best and most efficient theatre in the valley. It was packed but lines were short, the seating is so comfy and I love the reserved seating. Popcorn prices are reasonable although they could be lower;) read more

This is mine and my parents favorite theater to go to. We actually live closer to the Regal on Monroe but it's pretty rundown now. The seats here are so comfortable and the walking stance is great! I like this one even better than the one at the River. read more

Brand new huge theatre with reserved, full reclining seats. Bargain matinee prices in the afternoon ( Escape the scorching heat anyone?) The viewing room is large with great sound system. Parking is huge, right next to Target. This is probably the best theatre in the desert area. read more

I've been here so many times but so far today sucked. Came into the theater and it was so dark we couldn't find our seats... they forgot to put on the lights... commercials didn't start and then when the previews finally started I sound. Took so long for that! No here it's 20 min since it was suppose to start and we're still watching previews! Wow! read more

There were some pros and some cons. First with the Positives: The theater is new and clean. There is a Starbucks and from what I could tell they seemed to charge the same prices which I appreciated. The seating is very nice with the seats being recliners. Negatives: the Theater was way too stuffy. When its 106° outside I don't want to be sweltering inside. The second thing really bugged was the commercials. I have been annoyed with theaters running car ads Coke and advertising cable T.V shows. Today was an all time high in customer abuse. They ran so many ads that I lost count. read more

This is a bummer to review this theater like this as it's the best place in the DEZ, normally. It is actually not the fault of the theater, but the fault of the dark haired ticket salesman with dark glasses that was working tonight (12/31/16) at exactly 2:30PM. We used Fandango to purchase our tickets and unfortunately one of our party was ill and couldn't attend. When we arrived at the theater we immediately told the person our situation and as it was the busiest movie at the theater he said it would not be a problem at all and that we could refund out purchase as they could easily sell the ticket. The employee then continued to talk to us and the other girl that was working to his left and WAS NOT PAYING ATTENTION AND SEEMED TO SO BORED WITH THE WHOLE PROCESS THAT HE COULDN'T CARE LESS ABOUT ANY OF THE CUSTOMERS. They he printed all four of tour tickets and said, "oh sorry dude, I printed them all and now can't give you a refund. You'll have to contact Fandango yourself and deal with it". Well.... obviously that isn't the best way to deal with customers and when I asked whether there was something else we could do, he said "I told you what you needed to do and I can't help you". It is only a movie ticket and not a big deal but it stinks to be given the TOTAL blow off by some young kid that is just to bothered or trying to act way to cool that he doesn't do his job. So.......... we got home and contacted Fandango and of course they said that once the ticket is printed off, it's considered sold and they can't do anything about it which makes total sense and I can't blame them. So here we are on New Year's Ever writing a very negative review over nothing more than about $12, but it might give someone notice as when you completely disregard the well being of your customers and absolutely don't give a darn at all, yes, they will go home and think about it, they will tell everyone they know and they will even write a negative review. We have been to the movies at LQ Theater about 30 times and it's great, but now literally every single time we think about going to or driving by we will think about this rude kid and how he blew us off over a little tiny $12. I drove 45 minutes to get here to see black panther I was excited to see it. I was extremely disappointed in the fact of which only the worst first row seats were available so I had to drive home empty handed. I didn't see the movie and my day ended in the worst possible way. :( read more

I don't understand all these bad ratings and complaints about staffing. Personally, I haven't had a bad experience and I'm there several times a month (Yay Movie Pass!!!) Even if that weren't the case, this isn't a restaurant where bad service can ruin your experience. It's a movie theater, you'll spend 5 minutes with staff, less if you pre-bought your ticket and even less if you're not buying from concessions. The theater itself is great and has the most AWESOME and comfty seats, my only complaint here is they're too comfty and I've dozed off during some movies :) read more

If you sell assigned seats, you need to assist people in locating their seats. If you don't assist patrons with pointing out their seats and having one usher present, don't sell assigned seats. Otherwise a nice experience. read more

This is the best theater by far in the desert. I would give them 10 stars if I could! This is mainly because of their reclining chairs, these seats are so comfortable that it would make any "Lazy Boy" owner jealous. Also the theater sells blankets very inexpensive for your comfort. Every time I go with my girlfriend, and we go very often (at least once a week) it makes me think of all the other theaters that we've been & nothing compares to this one right here in La Quinta. We've been to any place from VIP theaters in LA, not so nice theaters in Ontario, and all the way to my local theaters in Riverside. The closest comparison to this theater would have to be the VIP theater in Beverly Hills, I can definitely say that the seats they have here at Century 21 have the same comfortability that you would be getting in a theater in Beverly Hills. Another cool thing they have is you can reserve your seats, you can choose where you would like to sit. This theater also has a bar, as many of the theaters are doing now. You can have a beer or a nice mixed drink while your waiting for your movie. Plus there's a nice sized arcade which has some nice games while sipping on your beer. They offer kettle popcorn as well as your original butter, definitely a plus since I'm a kettle lover. Free tip, & you can thank me later. I recommend going at the last showings that way you will have the theater just for yourself. Meaning you will have the best seats for yourself & your significant other. read more

Today, 11/21/2015 at 4:26 pm, I found what appears to be a beard or pubic hair in my ice cream. General Manager Joel Romig took zero responsibility for the hair, refunded my money only after having to request to be done so. Purchased 4 ice creams in total, 2 double scoops, 2 single scoops. He would not type up an incident report, so finally after asking 5 times, he typed up a Word Document stating the incident. I will be calling corporate on Monday as well as the Better Business Bureau. Health inspector has already been called, and taking care of the situation. For a brand new business, this is not the kind of reputation one would want. Such a shame, this is our first time at the theater and may be the last. read more

We are full time resident of Indio and were thrilled when this theater went in. We love getting our tickets on line and having a seat waiting for us when we arrived. But since it's opening the experience has gotten worse and worse. Going to a show today we were met with popcorn on the floors everywhere you walked. Bathroom that were a mess and not clean. It's saddens me that something so wonderful is not being taken care of. Don't want a first class theater to become a dummy theater. Really sorry I have to write this, but hopefully someone in charge will make sure things are fixed. read more

Purchased tickets online and sent them to my phone. I thought I was so cool. When we tried to use our tickets, the scanner was broken and I was directed to the madhouse called the ticket line to get hard copies printed. The snack bar is a cafeteria-style hybrid with popcorn served and sodas are self serve. It was really really messy dirty and utter chaos for those trying to figure out how to get their snacks, drinks and pay. The lobby is about 1/4 the size of the Rancho 16 lobby, and it is laid out so poorly that people exiting from the ticket line are literally bumping into people try to figure out the snack line. The wine bar tables which were all empty simply served as an obstacle further crowding people into the precious open space in which they journey to the ticket taker who takes about 60 seconds for each customer. This place really sucks! So, why did I give it 2 stars after such a crummy review? It get 2 stars because the seats are freaking amazing! Like a previous reviewer wrote, they are electric recliners with the whole put your feet up thing going on. They are really comfortable too! But the entirety of the front-of-theater experience sucked beyond description which makes this theater a bummer to visit. read more

Nicest theater in the Coachella Valley. Best seats, plenty of leg space and walking space. Only drawback is the line for concessions...especially during opening weekends of major movies (like this past weekend, Avengers: Infinity War). Not everyone gets popcorn, but there's only one entrance area, one exit. And there's no clear area to form a line, so everyone just tries to cut each other off to get out of the area. Perhaps re-designing it to allow for better traffic flow. Soooo, about that coffee shop-type area with tables and seats....really could be a better use of space. I'm just sayin'........ read more

The seats are very comfortable and we found the ticket buying process to be easy. However, we were very disappointed in the cleanliness of the lobby and theater. We hold the management responsible for maintaining a clean environment. This was our first time at this theater and will give it another chance to see if it was just a bad night or if this is the norm for this establishment. Note to management, the lobby is the first thing people see, you need to do a better job of making sure it's a clean, welcoming place. Once in the actual theater everything is fairly magical. The oversized seats are incredibly comfortable- cushy - with wide cozy arm rests and cup holders. Oh and btw - the chairs recline. Yup - with a foot rest! All the comforts of home! The sound and clarity of the screen is awesome. If I was judging just the theater - easy 5 stars! However - the process getting to that point needs vast improvement . First - you need to preorder your tickets to assure your seat. I like the old fashioned first come, first served. That has worked for centuries - so why the heck change it. Ridiculous. Furthermore when you preorder they (Century Theater) charges you a fee. How does that make any sense? There are 2 machines outside the building to pick up or purchase tickets. Its a pain in the ass. The entire line of people were cursing those 2 machines. When you walk into the building NO ONE greets you! Lo and behold - there are cashiers! Real humans! Wish I knew that prior to fumbling around at that stupid machine in 100* weather for 15 minutes. Signs directing clients are truly necessary. The food is RIDICULOUSLY expensive. Yes theater food usually is - but this is stupid expensive. Once again no one greeted us or offered any assistance with selection, etc. So Im turning around in circles trying to figure out where to get my drinks and where the heck to pay. Would have been lovely to hear (from the dude that served the popcorn) "you can get your drinks right over at the counter (self serve) AND you pay just around the corner"!!!! Nope. Nada. Not even a "thank you" or "enjoy your movie". In fact I had to interrupt him and another employee who was hanging out and chit chatting. Sorry I inconvenienced you! I will say - the guy who took our tickets (wish I got his name - but he had a pizza button on his tie) was the only courteous and professional employee. And he spoke! And gave us directions to our theater! And smiled! The other 10+ employees hanging about the floor talking and giggling to each other could take a lesson from him.... Management - get you act together. Train your employees and make some essential changes to accommodate your guests. Customer service 101!!! Sheeesh. read more

This movie is theater is great and everything but Friday night I accidentally purchased a movie ticket for almost Christmas 7:30pm but for the theater in the river. I simply asked the movie theater if they would honor the ticket which was for the same time I even offered to pay a difference if there was and the clerk simply said you need to get a refund and handed me a paper with an email on it. Horribly managed. Although a clean and nice theater, my last visit was AWFUL. Took my son to see Deadpool 2 and everything was going great until...we were accosted during the previews for *GASP* bringing in an 8oz bag of trail mix. Yes, I know you can't bring outside food into the theater, but really? First off, we didn't even try to hide bringing it in. Second, the concessions there are all junk food. Third, they let us bring it in, get halfway through eating it, then come into the middle of the theater DURING THE PREVIEWS to make a huge stink about the tiny bag. In front of everyone. Amazingly embarrassing. Plus, there were people in there with fast food bags, not that it means I wasn't breaking their rule, I'm just saying. I know they are losing money because of moviepass, but I always pay full price. Always. Even if I had, it's still unacceptable. I'm really thinking that the battles between the cinemas and the parent companies, the losers will be the moviegoers, and that's not cool at all. Be aware of Mickey the manager. Great theater. Poorly ran. I will still go here, but they deserve the 1 star. You should be way better than this. read more

Since this place opened it has been the only theater we like to visit. I absolutely love being able to reserve our seats ahead of time. The reclining seats are very comfortable and we no longer have to worry about our seats being kicked and are less likely able to overhear chatter from people who have no idea how well their voice carries and don't realize their theories aren't groundbreaking or original. But I digress. The closest seat I would recommend comfortably watching a movie is row C. Even if you reserve your seats ahead of time I would still recommend arriving a half hour earlier, especially if it is your first visit. This will allow plenty of time to find your seat or sort out a mix up in assigned seating (thankfully my experience has always been positive). I never had trouble walking in front of the reclined seats in the middle of the movie like some others claim. However, please be advised that the foot of the seat does not touch the floor so there is room to place objects on the floor before you recline and raise the seat over your items. The one time I, and everyone else who needed to use the restroom during a movie, had trouble navigating because some unsupervised children who skated to the theater and left their skates and jackets on the walkway in front of their reclined seats. I watched three different people try to keep their footing as they tried to step over the boy's things. When I had to use the facilities, my shorter legs and high heeled boots didn't allow for such strides so I had to slowly shuffle and unfortunately step all over their outdoor wear. Oh well. Well into the movie it dawned on them that, yes, you can fit plenty of things under your seat or next to you. My experience with the concession had been decent. I have never encountered a large mess but that could be because I enjoy earlier showings. Things have been out of stock here and there but popcorn and beverages have always been available. read more

We were down in the desert and decided to take in a movie. A friend recommended the Cinemark or Century theater in LaQuinta and said to go on Tuesday as that is discount day all day long. You go on line and buy your ticket for a small extra fee and that let's you see which seats are available for each showing and you can reserve you seat and even show up after the trailers are running so you can skip them if you want. There's lots of parking, good movie food selection and best of all the seats are large electric recliners that you sorta sink into - great way to watch a movie. They have two types of theaters the XD has awesome sound and they also show films in 3D. read more

I was very excited to get a movie theater closer to home. And I have heard good things about the recliners. However I must say the overall experience was under whelming.
