These cinnamon rolls are very delicious and awesome if you like your cinnamon rolls with toppings. I enjoyed the one I tried, a roll with frosting and chocolate chips. It was still warm from the shop! My only complaint is that they're quite expensive. I was expecting it to be as big as a cinnabon but they're not. With tax it was over $70 for a dozen. This place was on shark tank! Love the concept of a build your own cinnamon roll. The roll was soft and warm and the topping super flavorful. I got the s'mores. The frosting could have been a little bit more buttery (prefer Cinnabon) but for the price, I think this is a unique and fun experience. Love the fact that everything here is plant-based/vegan. So far I've tried some cinnamon rolls with various toppings and the banana cream frosting as well as the cake batter frosting. Both were amazing but I am partial to banana cream. The rolls are very decadent and could be shared between two people unless you are super hungry for dessert. I've also purchased the cookie dough to take home and it was really delicious. First of all Cinnaholic is NOT located at 41 W. Jefferson. It is around the corner at 109 Main St., across from Giordano's. The truth is that the basic bun itself is nothing special. They are a little dry and not a lot of cinnamon. The frostings and toppings are what make these things pretty good. It was the day before Valentines Day. They had a "Sweetheart Box" on display for $30. I said I would like one of those. I was told I could only get that if I had pre-ordered it. I settled for three custom buns. They were warm when I got them and still warm when I got home. We devoured the first one immediately. That was the peanut butter frosted with PB cups topping. My buns with one frosting and one topping were $5.75 plus tax. People complaining about a $7.00 bun must have had multiple toppings on them. So, I spent $18 for three buns instead of spending $30 for a Sweetheart Box which I couldn't get on the day before Valentines Day. They have a sign that they were on Shark Tank. I wonder what their shark thinks of their business plan. Some afterthoughts: I was thinking about this place after I wrote the review above. Some of the frostings didn't seem to have much flavor. Maybe it's because the frostings are thin. They are put on warm buns and immediately run off. When we opened our box of buns at home there was a puddle of frosting around each bun. Just think how good the buns would be if that frosting stayed on the bun. I looked at their website. The buns there looked very different from the ones I got. All the frosting was on the bun and there was more of the topping on it. With all the warts this place has I will be surprised if they are still open after their lease runs out. Kids had a s'mores and a chocolate one and I had the banana foster one! My only complaints were the free cup of water they offer is the size of a dixi cup for kids brushing their teeth. But I wouldn't pay for another with my money. The price point is wrong. I got a blueberry muffins cinnamon roll which was a regularcinnamon roll with blueberries and a crumble topping. It was quite delicious. But at nearly $7 it should have been huge. But I'd just made package of 'grands' and I can tell you they're about the same size. We finally called them and when she said they right across the street from Giardano's I asked her again because they're in Main St. I wanted to ask if they even know Naperville! On to the roll...before you top a cinnamon roll - the roll has to stand on its own. This one was over baked and dry. If you're looking for the cinnamon gooey-ness within the layers of dough, you won't find it here. I don't know whether the vegan thing has anything to do with the lack of gooey cinnamon sugar "sauce" in the layers but they need to lessen the baking time. Even after we got home our rolls were still very hard under all the melted frosting. I thought "how can all this liquid not penetrate the roll?" 3 stars is for the variety of toppings & creativity. I was excited to try this place since it opened. We were in downtown Naperville on a rainy, cold Friday afternoon. We had just picked up coffee from a nearby spot, drove past here and it was empty with a parking space in front. Winning. I walked in and there were 3 women behind the counter busily doing some things and talking to each other. It took several minutes for someone to turn around and greet me. (Insert blank stare.) I ordered the original, chai frosting icing flavor and the apple pie. I ordered this for two people, and we agreed to share, taste test and rate. When the person that tops the cinnamon rolls told me (AFTER I already paid) they were out of caramel for the apple pie flavor, I was slightly irritated and disappointed. Poor customer service. They need to do better communicating with the cashier. Once we opened the containers, the icing was running off to the side. Underneath was a small roll. A little bit bigger than what you'd get in a can of Pillsbury. Ugh. For $5 to $7+ they need to be Cinnabon size. We dug in. At first taste there isn't much cinnamon flavor at all. The roll tasted fresh though. The icing was too sweet and runny. The apple pie was missing the caramel and the apples on top were pieces of tiny, hard diced apples. When you think of apple pie, one would assume there would be soft simmered apples on top. Nope, hard and crunchy. Plus, no caramel. I already mentioned that twice because it's important to complete the taste test. The chai frosting was really sweet. Decided not to eat that one at all because it just didn't seem worth the spike to our blood sugar. $25+ for just 3 Cinnaholic rolls. Needless to say, we won't be back, but glad we tried them. I will say that I can see how the appeal could be the fun toppings, but too overpriced in my opinion. I'd say try it for yourself and see what you think, but again, we'd like more cinnamon and all the available toppings. read more

I didn't think it was *bad* but it was a touch expensive and not *amazing*. $15 for two cinnamon rolls. We visited on a weekday and had planned to eat it there, when we realized they didn't have tables so we just took it home (which kind of ended our special kid free day date whomp). I wish they had some reheat notes on their packaging because it really should be served warm and I was terrified I'd ruin it in the microwave. We have a few vegan friends so we will probably be back when they come into town, but we won't be stopping for a date again.
