    Gluten free options!
    Jess B.

Great Harvest has been a staple in my house since I can remember. My mom would bring me in and I loved getting a sample and loading it with butter. I haven't been in for a few years since becoming gluten free. But I was pleasantly surprised to see the table of gluten free options. The gluten free pumpkin chocolate chip bread is delicious and the texture is perfect. I'll definitely be back for more. They also have gluten free frozen white bread available. It hasn't defrosted yet but I can't wait to make a grilled cheese sandwich just like I did when I was younger.

Such a delightful local option for breads & sweets. They are known for their fantastic seasonal offerings: hot cross buns for Easter, Swedish lumps bread for Christmas, turkey shaped rolls for Thanksgiving. These items have become part of our family's yearly traditions. Also, try the pumpkin chocolate chip bread--you will not be disappointed!

Had the opportunity to go this cute bakery today. First of all, the staff is so freaking sweet and amazing. They gave me a free loaf while I was sitting outside waiting for my car to be fixed. It shows excellent customer service and the fact that they truly care not just about customers but everyone. I went in and omg there is SUCHHHHH a huge variety of sandwiches, breads, muffins, cinnamon rolls. I felt like I could've spent an hour in there and still not have my order figured out haha. I loved loved how many options they had!! Anyways, went with the Asiago Italian focaccia loaf and brought it home. Could not wait to get into it because it smelled HEAVENLY! My husband isn't much into breads but he had one bite and his face completely lit up! He could not stop eating!! We're already halfway through the loaf and I just got this today so needless to say, we LOVED it!! Would go back over and over again!!

We have enjoyed many loaves from Great Harvest! This week was a little disappointing. Our sourdough loaf seemed a bit dense and once cut I saw it was underbaked. Please make sure your bread is done, unless I wasn't aware it was parbaked.

I drive 45 minutes for their hot cross buns each Easter. Their lime bread, white chocolate cherry and trek bars are amazing too.

The Ube latte was almost 7 dollars and it was literally all milk with zero Ube flavor at all, it was the most disappointing Ube latte we've ever had. They sell French and Korean infused pastries and cakes that are a bit pricier than most. I think they should at least have nice boxes to put the pastries in rather than wrapping it up in plastic and stuffing it in a plastic bag. There weren't many options and service was eh. Two weeks before the event, I came in person with a printed cake design, a clear color theme (green, cream, and white), and a macaron accent order to go with it. I was flexible on the design details, just committed to the vision. On the day of pickup, I arrived a little late -- my fault -- but there was no cake waiting, and my order couldn't be found. Hannah behind the counter did her best, and when owner Robert walked in, I calmly explained everything from the start. I won't lie -- I was heartbroken more than angry. This was a big night. What happened next is why I'm writing this review. Robert and his team didn't hesitate. They snapped a photo of the design from my phone, asked every detail, and promised to make it right -- with Robert personally delivering the cake to the venue (thankfully just 5 minutes away). And he did. He showed up with the cake designer in tow and delivered something truly stunning: a handsome, elegant cake that fit the theme perfectly and genuinely wowed my brother and guests. And the flavor? Their Atomic. Banana (pudding), strawberries (jam), and chocolate, vanilla & banana cake. YUM! It was incredibly moist and delicious. What could have been a devastating hiccup for such a milestone night became one of the most memorable parts of the celebration. That's a testament to Robert and his team's character, dedication, and craft. Thank you, Area 51 Cupcakery. We've loved your cupcakes from day one, and this experience only deepened our loyalty. We'll always come back.

Yuuuup, I'll be here on a monthly basis. They also have a punch card system. Every 12 cupcakes will get you 1 cupcake for free. The inside is super cool, there are numerous spots for photo ops and they even have a ring light and camera holder if interested in using it. My first time visiting I tried the following cupcakes: chai pumpkin latte (daily special and DANGGGG DELICIOUS), Almond wedding (my least favorite but still good, I think almond cupcakes just aren't for me), cookies and cream (divine, rich, 2nd favorite), and the Boston cream (also 2nd favorite lol). All of the cupcakes were moist, fluffy, and full of flavor. They are made daily and you can feel and taste the love. Area 51 is definitely my favorite cupcake spot of all time. I've gone to Area 51 probably every week since finding em and I can't get enough. They also made cupcakes for my baby's gender reveal. They were extremely accommodating and everything turned out perfect! I highly recommend them for custom cakes, cupcakes, or even just grabbing 1 of their daily made cupcakes. SOOO GOOD!

The parking lot is a bit chaotic but they do have a few 15 min parking spots right out front to help with that since folks are usually coming and going. We walked in and took a few minutes took look through the menu, when we went to order we were told 2 of the 3 flavors were out and we would need to wait 15 minutes for it. We decided to wait since that way it would be extra fresh and yummy. There was only one person and he really wasn't thrilled to be there and you can tell in the tone of his voice not only to us but to everyone working. It got pretty busy after dinner so I get it but it was a bit off putting just listening. After about 20 minutes or so we got our cookies and it was delish! I almost wish we got more because the cookies didn't even make it home! Overall, a delicious experience!

We grabbed a deluxe four-pack with the S'mores, Salted Caramel, and two Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup cookies. They were served warm, soft, and gooey, and the Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup was easily my favorite; rich, chocolatey, and loaded with peanut butter! The store was clean and bright, but service was surprisingly slow considering we were the only people there at the time. Two of our four cookies were also broken while being put into the box. I want to give them a slight pass since the cookies are served warm and are pretty delicate, but it was still a bit annoying, especially considering the four-pack cost $21.56. And that's really my biggest gripe; more than $5 per cookie is honestly outrageous and EXTREMELY hard to justify, even for a specialty dessert shop IMO. That said, we still really enjoyed them and think they're much better than Crumbl. I'd absolutely eat them again; I just wouldn't make a habit of it at that price.

Naperville location…read more Bottom Line: The food hall version of this concept is not the same experience as the stand alone location, though the food quality is consistent. I sought out this location since I definitely liked the Glenn Ellyn, stand alone location (See my review for that location). I did not realize it until I got there but this location is located in a food hall, a part of the H-Mart Asian grocery chain's delivery concept. The scaled down, food hall version, in line with, and surrounded by the sights, sounds, and aromas of a great but distracting variety of Asian food offerings, distracts and dilutes the impact of the distinctly different "Paris Baguette" concept (One of these things is not like the others). I will say that the food was good and I would say consistent with the stand-alone location; however, the highly eclectic mix of eateries, in an open food hall, obliterates the more authentic visual and environmental feel of a modern Parisian pâtisserie experience that is delivered by the stand alone store. In recently reviewing Paris Baguette's direct competitor and similar concept, basically across the street from this location, I opined that I would choose Paris Baguette if pressed to make a choice between the two; however, not In this particular instance/location. I get wanting to proliferate the name and concept in the market but, in my opinion, the food-hall version dilutes and detracts from the nice experience of the stand-alone store. If a stand-alone opens here or near, I would come back.
