The reviews here are rough... idk the details, but I'm specifically writing just for my experience and interests. I really like their Queso de Rollo. It's a Bolivian bread stuffed with cheese. I love it because they make it fresh! Other bakeries pre-make it in advance and it always tastes stale. We went to get a quote for a quince cake and were told $600 by the lady who makes the cakes. It was not a range and we were told that was the price for the cakes and decorations. When we went to drop off the deposit we called ahead of time to let them know and they said it was okay. Once we arrived we were greeted by a different worker (owner's daughter) who said that the total was $1,100 which was drastically different to the original quote. She said the cake we had ordered was not $600 after we had agreed on the price being $600 not $1,100 which was never mentioned when we got quoted. The worker has an attitude and kept making faces at us when we tried to explain that the quote we were told was $600. She was extremely rude and was adamant that the price was $1,100. She told us she would not be making the cake for us which was only for 100 people to begin with. We are extremely unsatisfied with the service and the time we wasted when we had already agreed on a cake, design, and price I would not recommend coming here as they lied to us, treated us horribly, and were disrespectful. read more

Of all the Bolivian Restaurants in the NOVA area , I can attest that the saltenas here are top tier! Delicious and juicy!! If you come on the weekend get here early! Like before 1pm otherwise it will get busy and cramped. Their dining area is small. They have tables for 4 people around the restaurant. So some people will be dining for 1 at a table set for 4. You might have to share a table. Their menus are limited.. and prices aren't listed . So ask! I had their peanut soup, saltenas and beef tongue to take home. My saltenas were delicous. Hot and very juicy. Better than Luzmilas or Luzmarys! BETTER than Pike or Fanny's. The language was very savory. Their comp bread with their house made salsa was delicious!! The service was pitiful.. The female wait staff have no urgency or take on any sort if initiative You have to ask for whatever. No they are not short staffed. They weren't rude or arrogant. If anything I would say absent minded. The peach drink mocochinche....not good it was not sweet.. not cold... . I dont recommend.. The restaurant is also warm, so if its hot like 85 degrees outside your gonna sweat. This could have been 5 stars but the service need to improve. The Milanese is yet to disappointment. I've gotten around 50 jn the past few years! The service and ambience is at best 4 out of 5, Especially if you catch it empty. The sandwich itself is top notch but that's not hard to do with what I'm getting. I've yet to seen or gotten any hair. Maybe I'm not lucky enough. :( read more

Cinthia's is tucked away in an unassuming strip mall on Columbia Pike. I drive by it all the time and tell myself I need to check out every bakery in my community. Finally, my husband and I stopped by a couple weeks ago and I was pleasantly surprised to find this is much more than a bakery. This is legit local hispanic food to include baked goods. I admit I had to get out my phone to translate some of the menu items, but I quickly found a steak dish I was interested in and tres leches for dessert. The food portions are very generous. Even the tres leches was a generous serving for two. The staff were really friendly and it seemed like a family atmosphere in the community. I'm glad we finally stopped by and we plan to return soon. Cinthia's Bakery is nice. I wouldn't say it's a clear winner in the area, but it's nice. Cinthia's Bakery is a Bolivian style bakery that features both an assortment of pastries and, from what I could tell, a number of full-out meals. Prices are pretty low, but that's not surprising for ethnic food in the area. There's a ton of seating and parking, but be warned that the shopping center itself is rather sketchy, so I'd exercise caution going at night. Notwithstanding all of the above, the most annoying thing is the fact that a lot of the signs are only in Spanish - expect some guesswork. The pastries I purchased here were good, but not mind-blowing. We shared what I assume to be a churro, a slice of cake, and two sugar-y bread-y things that tasted remarkably similar to one another. All were good - and adequately sweet without being obnoxiously so - but all were also a hair dry. We actually popped them into a microwave, which helped a bit. I can see this being a solid option if you want a quick pastry bite, but I don't think this is a place I'd go very far out of my way to go to. read more

I went to Cinthia's on Columbia Pike this morning. The woman working gave me a very weak "hola" like she wasn't actually that happy to see me. She was finishing up with a customer and it appeared that she was going to start helping me, when the customer came back in and she went right back to serving her. So I waited. Took a few minutes to wrap up (chatting, seemed to be in no hurry) and just as I was about to get my turn, two Hispanic women came in (I'm not Hispanic), and the clerk proceeded to wait on them! WTH? So I left. Large sale lost, because they had exactly what I wanted - six individual tres leches cakes for a dinner party. Went out to the Annandale Farmer's Market instead and got some very nice pastries from the vendor Belen Bakery. The seller could not have been nicer. Far cry from the way I was dismissed at Cinthia's. Not only did I not buy anything at Cinthia's today, I will never go back. read more

I needed to get a last minute cake for Father's Day. I first went to the German Bakery, which is next door to Cinthia's Bakery. They didn't have any cakes I liked, and the cakes I wanted contained liquor (a no-no for me). Not to mention, that I was waiting at the bakery counter for assistance, and the employee in a chef's uniform completely ignored me. I was thoroughly disappointed. So, in a desperate attempt, I saw Cinthia's Bakery, and gave it a shot. I walked in and it was buzzing with customers. I was warmly greeted by an employee and she showed me the available cakes in their display. I asked if the 'tres leches' contained alcohol and she confirmed that it, indeed, did not. So, I happily purchased it. To my surprise, the cake was a huge hit at out Father's Day celeberation. I am so pleased that I discovered Cinthia's Bakery. I had a little brunch with my friends and I wanted to try out Bolivian food. The aroma once you step through the door is definitely enticing. I had Silpancho and a dry peach drink. The flavoring was on point, but I had only one complaint.. this was enough for me to give two stars. I found a cockroach roaming around the table. My friend grabbed the cockroach and showed it to one of the workers, she walked away with it and did not say a word. Later when I went to confront the woman she said she could not give me a discount because the cockroach was not in my food. Fine, I don't care about a discount, but no apology AND what kind of answer was that? She even gave me an attitude later when I came up to pay. She did not seem sincere or to even care that we found an insect. I was not satisfied with their response.. Imagine what their kitchen is like! read more

I am a financial business consultant for a bank near by, and I visit cinthia's bakery pretty often. I have always enjoyed the food and the great customer service for the past 4 years, every time I walk in those doors I am welcomed with a friendly smile and good afternoon! I usually invite my friends and family members for a quick lunch at the restaurant and they all love it. This restaurant is great place for a nice quick bite with friends, family and coworkers. A typical Bolivian bakery/restaurant. I usually carry out but they have lots of tables. Also you can buy/order full cakes. I love the cunape - round rolls of corn meal and cheese - crispy outside, really soft inside - they remind me of Paraguayan chipa. Good vanilla cake. Love the brazo gitanos too - cake with swirls of dulce de leche - good with coffee. The chicken saltena is like a chicken pot pie empanada - full of chicken, peas, potatoes, and gravy. This is my third time here, so far it I had a great experience. Today, I ordered something by mistake, i asked the cashier if she could change it. I have been many times in this restaurant, the food is good but the owner is so rude. I paid for couple bred and they did not give it to me and I forgot to ask the cashier to take home, when I called them, they said to me that the are going to give me the bred as well. When I went to asked again after a week they denied on giving me the couple bread plus I was treated poorly by this man( owner) He was very miserable.
