I later found the server had added $5 to her tip, according to the credit card report. When I called to get it reversed, the manager tried to defend her and explain math that didn't work as an accident and then that the receipt she could see looked like there were more digits on my tip, which would have been $10 extra and not five. Eventually she reversed just the tip to zero. Cannot recommend this restaurant anymore based on server behavior and management response. read more

You can usually count on solid sandwiches & burgers at Dogfish. I loved my chicken sandwich because it was blackened- just enough to give nice flavor without overpowering the whole thing. We didn't need to look for her when we needed something. She was patient when my cousin ordered the wrong drink. (It was funny) I remembered to take pictures!. Everything we had was yummy. (See Pics) Now the downside: they really need to upgrade to floors. I remember when another restaurant was in the space. The food offsets the need for some upgrades but not by much. There is clutter where, in my opinion, it should not be. Whoever is in charge needs to fallback and let someone step in to declutter. Doing this will help with the esthetic. The way people were pouring in, take one project at a time, and it could be affordable. My suggestion, replace the flooring upstairs. I don't know if it flooded in the past or if the place gets terribly humid before you open. But the floors felt like they had gotten wet once upon a time. We know a guy if you need a recommendation. Before anyone misreads: the temperature was perfect when we arrived. The upstairs bathroom is unisex and only for one. The area outside of the bathroom has clutter. The restroom is tight again because there is a cabinet or something in front of the toilet. Again, a basic declutter of the space will add to the esthetic. The staff are all absolutely wonderful and appear to love the job. I bet they would love the space better if it were decluttered. My star rating is mainly because of the food and service. What can I say this place is awesome and always has been we went for lunch and wasn't disappointed our service was top notch and was always checking on us with quick refills. The food was nice and hot just how you want it with not a single complaint. Alehouse has a nice selection of music playing pretty much throwback songs with just a really nice atmosphere. If I am going to travel from out of state to visit a brewery, I'd like to sample new beers not offered in my home state. Unfortunately, there was not a single new offering on the entire draft list that I could not get in Pittsburgh. And when I selected items off their Untappd menu, I got some passive aggressive vibes of annoyance from bartender for picking things they were out of. When that happens, it is usually 1 of 2 scenarios...they are lazy with keeping their untappd menu app updated (which is a service they pay for) or it is a money grab to reel you in because the heavy hitter high end beers are advertised to get you in the door. So I took a client and his staff here for lunch we had roughly 10 people with a reservation. It took a while too long to get beverages. It was a business lunch and you only have so much time. The waitress got everyone's order and the food came fairly quickly. But, my main guests food was missing and he had to wait an extra 10 minutes for a club sandwich. I had wings and fries that were pretty tasty and the fries came hot. They gave me blue cheese when I asked for ranch. So it took about 10 minutes to get ranch and ketchup to the table. Also I had to ask 2 times to get a refill for my iced tea. My only other part is we were seated upstairs and while the table was clean the place seems dingy. I went here to grab a quick bite for me and my child. I got the fish and chips for one child and for myself I got the chicken strip. I'm sorry the fish taste like chicken. They must use the chicken seasoning for the fish. Didn't even taste like fish and the chicken, which is OK but it just didn't have any taste. Was definitely happy that it did come with some dipper. Tuesday 2/25/25 I've seen this spot nearly all of my life while living in Moco, and I believe I visited this spot with my family when I was way younger, but I have no memory of my experience. I made a call in order for pickup and the service was nice and easy. I spent $70 on my order and got the BOTW: Dani's birria burger $18, bread pudding $9, steak bomb sandwich $17, and the ale Mac n cheese with smoked brisket $22. - The concept of Dani's birria burger is cool but the execution was not very well done. The burger was okay, but the birria was dry and flavorless. A specific sauce for the burger would really enhance the experience. - As a bread pudding fan, I was really looking forward to their bread pudding, and I'm glad I got it. It's different from my usual bread puddings as it's chocolate chip bread pudding, but still decent. Also, I'd recommend getting it in the restaurant rather than takeout (the portion is bigger and it looks better). - The steak bomb sandwich was either 1 or 2 when it came to my favorites. The Sandwich is flavorful and tasty. A lot of that is attributed to the creamy & spicy sauce that's featured in it. My only downside is the unsatisfying portion I got, as it was smaller than expected. - The ale Mac n cheese with smoked brisket left me with very mixed feelings. The Mac n cheese on its own is good, but the brisket on the other hand is a joke. The brisket is weak, dry, and has no flavor. Luckily, I had some BBQ sauce at home to significantly boost the experience, but yeah, this combo was not it. - The French fries were pretty weak, and at best, they're average. While my experience wasn't what I had hoped for, I'd still be open to possibly coming back in the future to try more of their popular items like the crab dip, jambalaya, fish & chips, ribs, etc. read more

When the waiter came with our waters I mentioned we needed "setups" as there was nothing on the table. He replied in a snappy tone "one thing at a time, it's a process"! I ordered a salmon sandwich and my friend a salmon salad. The salmon was good on both but the fries were cold and soggy. Even the usual nice vibes in the place were gone. The staff gives you plenty of time to decide on your order and great recommendations, when you ask for them. I love the warmth, dark woods, and Cheers Bar vibes that I get when I enter. They have a large bar area and high top and low tables, for seating. I ordered the fish and chips. It was epic! Perfectly fried french fries. I savored each morsel. Then, the fish was impeccably fried and the breading was scrumptious! I also had enough leftover to eat the next day. My son, ordered the blackened chicken sandwich. He really enjoyed his too. There were no leftovers on his plate. They have the best selection of beer and many are seasonal variations. I had a glass of wine. It was a generous pour,light and refreshing. This is by far my favorite bar to go to in the area. Tim, Patrick, and Jen are all awesome bartenders and are always super attentive and friendly. They have a late night happy hour that has these really good sliders and fried pickles! The tuna entree is always cooked perfectly and is one of my favorites. Just sat at the bar, was there all of 5 mins after previous customer had just left. Female bartender never said hello or anything, kinda shrugged that I move my arms so she could clean the bar and then literally tossed menus onto the bar with a "splat" and walked away with testing bitch face. We had a late lunch today and the food was delicious. We started with a soft pretzel and the queso was amazing. I had a Buffalo chicken sandwich and it will now be my go to. The chicken breast was cooked perfectly and I had the hot sauce on the side which worked out well to not make the sandwich soggy. I've reviewed this before, on the only bad day I've ever had at Dogfish Head Alehouse...but I've been back MANY times since then, and never had another bad experience. My nephew always gets the Steak Bomb...he thinks it's the best Steak sandwich anywhere! Last night I took my brother...as a thank you for fixing my air conditioning. We both got their really amazing Wood Grilled Chicken, Bacon, Shrimp and Avocado salad. It was just delicious! It also has Bleu cheese crumbles on it, so I paired it with the Greek salad dressing and it was amazing! (I said that already, didn't I?) Also, the chicken and shrimp on the salad were hot, and that just enhanced the flavors. Our waitress was also amazing! My brother asked for extra, extra, extra lemon with his iced tea. She brought him a glass of iced tea with SIX lemon wedges in a flower design on top! I asked for water with extra ice (only one extra) and she brought me, in her words, " A glass of ice with water"...perfect for me. Her name is Kat, and we will ask for her again, for sure! We were there at lunch time on a Friday and it was not very busy. As we left around 3:00 business was definitely picking up. Our server was Alexa and she did a great job. There were such good choices on the menu it was hard to decide what to order. I'd go back just to try out some more options like Mac and cheese with pulled pork. I've been coming here so much, especially since my office is just a few buildings away. If you want that perfect craft beer that Dogfish brews and crafts, and great American food, look no further! Adam, Tim, and Julia have been serving me, my friends, colleagues, beers and food for years here. Best bartenders and very friendly too! I really enjoy their low-carb beer, Slighty Mighty, and their best brew, 60 minute IPA. So many good apps to get from their perfectly fried chicken wings (ask them to make it crispy), huge pretzel with cheese sauce, and reuben egg rolls. I miss their canary pizza with crab meat, and the pizza size is large for one person and good dish to share. They also have a kids menu too! Their salads are huge and very filling, especially their chicken, shrimp salad and steak salad. Check out their specials as sometimes they have their awesome seafood stew (must get). Gaithersburg is SO lucky to have a Dogfish Head alehouse, honestly have no idea why they settled down in MoCo but reap your benefits! I love the beer at Dogfish, especially the 60-120 minute IPAs, and the Liquid Truth. Something I love is that they have a menu of "beer alchemy" made from regulars and staff over the years, mixing up different beers. I had the Liquid 90 (liquid truth + 90 minute) and my husband tried the Hazy Punk ( pumpkin + hazy IPA) and we both enjoyed our mixed very much. The food is alright, good and solid but nothing to write home about IMO. Our party had the salmon sandwich, buffalo chicken sandwich, and the burger with pico de gallo and fried jalapenos. Service was a bit slow, but understandably so as 1 bartender was manning the entire bar as well as the seating area on that side. Overall I would absolutely recommend Dogfish if you like good beer and solid bar food. It wasn't crowded at all around 1pm on a Sunday even with the games on! read more
