I met some girlfriends here before dinner. It was raining that day, so everyone was inside. Its a small place, but has a cute vibe. I grabbed a high top, while waiting for my friends. I ordered a glass of the white blend, which I wasn't really a fan of. The server was nice, but he was busy, so it took a while for him to return and take out orders. I ordered the crab dip for us to share. It was a good option to share before dinner. I then opted to try the spicy margarita. I actually really enjoyed it. Overall, I like the ambiance and variety of options. Although our server was really nice and apologetic, I was hoping for a better service experience. What a gem! Looking for a quiet date night or a girl's night where you can actually talk? This is your place! I usually sit at the bar. Oscar the bartender is aweosme. Always has a smile and makes sure you are taken care of. And remembers me only after a few times! I've met several customers who are super friendly too. The ambiance is the best thing about this place. Sitting outdoors when the weather is nice is a pleasant experience. The service is also very friendly and when I have been there it was attentive as well. I have heard that it can take a while for the food to be served but when things are not so busy on a weekend evening that doesn't seem to be a problem. The wine selection is good. There are quite a bit of food options. However, this is probably the weakest link. The food is hit or miss. The cheese, meat board is excellent. The wedge salad is good but the portion is small. The turkey brie panini was mostly bread and not much else. Would I go back? Yes! It's a nice place to meet up with friends and have a drink, and share some appetizers, but I would not be going for the food. read more

I arrived early for another event in the area, so I figured that I could burn a hour by having a glass of wine or a cocktail at Vine Alley Bistro. It looks like I made a great choice. Fortunately for me, I arrived during happy hour, and two glasses of wine was about $14, which is not a bad deal for the area. While my visit was pretty short, I did enjoy my experience. The bartender was pretty friendly and service was very fast. Vine Alley Bistro looks like it's a great place for locals (and non-locals, as it was in my case) to hang out for conversation. Also, from the stage setup, this bistro looks like it's also a great place to hear some live music. This place is such a charming addition to the Kentlands. We were greeted by one of the owners as we walked in. I was like a kid in a candy store browsing the wines for sale. Most fell in the $14-$25 price range with a couple more expensive bottles. Several were wines that I hadn't noticed in other local shops before. They have a solid selection from a wide variety of countries and states. There's a $5 corking fee, should you choose to open a bottle there. I was a bit disappointed that there weren't more wines available by the glass. I hope that they have others available on Thursdays when they do tastings. The Malbec I got was easy drinking. My fiance's Italian red had a little more earth and spice to it, so they at least have wines by the glass that appeal to different tastes. Our bruschetta was a nice little bite. This is my "go" place for a nice , relaxing, down time. Their chicken pesto is one of my fave, but honestly I don't come here for food. I really come here for the ambiance. They have local singers that would come with their guitar and sing their hearts out. I love this venue's support for local bands/singers! I usually come, order a bottle or two ( of their wine) and just enjoy the music and vibe. Service is always friendly. A real local gem . Affordable prices for a nice, relaxing night. read more

I just witnessed what I believe to be the owner screaming and cursing at a woman because she parked in front of his establishment. Although some of the interaction wasnt audible, I did hear him yelling "you need to learn how to park". The woman was with a child might I add, and wasn't there for more than a few minutes at best getting a drink in another place. Very sad. This is a Bar where I drink sometimes, mostly on Tuesdays. I go and I drink and I listen to music -- live local, some old rock, some country, singer-songwriter, mostly acoustic, some full bands, not too loud. Maybe Fleetwood Mac, maybe a little Jason Isbel or Tyler Childers, it's that sort of vibe, sometimes it's pretty good. On weekends, the bar can get crowded. I suppose it's hard to find a good bar around here, especially a good bar with music. I particularly like Tuesdays here for open mics, lots of local gigging musician types -- frequently pretty good. Musicians like to play for musicians. There is a camaraderie, joyful competition, acceptance of the flawed endeavor. They understand that you can't really know a song until you know how it feels under your fingers. Also, they are frequently good people to drink with, and you get a few less of the "it didn't sound like the record," crowd. The food is a flatbread, hummus sort of menu. There are a couple of pretty tasty sandwiches as well. The drinks are fine. You could drink wine here, you could drink beer here. You cannot drink Campari here anymore since I finished the last bottle some months ago, but they do have Aperol. The bartenders are good, but busy. Tip well. You can sit outside if the weather cooperates and still hear the band and talk without shouting. At a good bar, you can have good conversations if it is not too loud, conversations you remember for a long time. The best ones are often one-offs, words traded with strangers. Exchanges so unexpected that they seem impossible, other-worldly. They happen, you say what you say, and it doesn't repeat. The conversations that don't repeat are better, just like the songs that don't sound like the record. On a good night, this Bar does not sound like the record. On a good night here, you can feel the music under your fingers. read more

I would not do table service when there's live music but have more bartenders and just thin out seating at the bar, and make people get their own drinks and have busboys go around the place for cleanup. read more

I wasn't the biggest fan of the meat and cheese board so I'd probably try the hummus next time. This place is a classy escape from reality into wine country with delicious food to accompany whatever your wine palette may be. I'm not a big wine person, but they have a great beer selection both on tap and on bottles, so they had me at beer. The service is incredible, everyone smiles at you, Sean the manager and partner is as charismatic as he is friendly, this spot really elevates the game for your friendly bistro. I had the sliders, the chicken pot stickers, and the Provolone Ranger panini, all delicious and plenty of food. Perfect for a wine and beer joint. Came for a weekday happy hour with two friends, and we had a great time! The ambiance is really classy and there was even a live music duo there! The service was a little lacking. They had only 2 waitresses there that were not the most attentive, and though ours mentioned that she was new, she seemed to not be very familiar with the menu/options at all. I ended up trying the white sangria, which was just average in my opinion (a little bit flavorless), and the Sauvignon Blanc which I really enjoyed. They have happy hour from 4-7 pm on weekdays and that gives you $2 off glasses of wine. Not bad, but not a great deal either. Overall, I would come back again, but with lower expectations! read more

I was having a casual drink at the bar and I watched a grown man (who I assume to be the owner) freak out on a girl who was doing nothing wrong. She wasn't even drinking (I noticed she had a wristband so she was of age), she was just chatting with her friends at a table! There had been no commotion prior to any of this. I watched the woman go up go the girl and she was initially respectful but told her the girl that she needed to leave. The girl was super compliant and understanding. Next thing you know, some man (another owner I assume) comes over and starts screaming in her face and calling her disrespectful and all other sorts of names!!! It was absolutely ridiculous, it was hostile and aggressive so we will not be going back. read more

I wanted to like this place. I really did. It had the potential to be a new favorite. 1. The bathroom pee mat that goes around the base of the toilet was folded and sitting on their side table in the bathroom. Absolutely disgusting. 2. Bar staff decided that down time was meant for texting and sipping on their Starbucks. Meanwhile the floors under the bar were littered with napkins, crumbs, etc. Tables and chairs needed straightening. 3. Music was not consistent so quiet moments felt awkward. When it was on, they chose country which just doesn't seem in theme with the place. 4. I don't appreciate the open kitchen/manager area. Its cluttered and unorganized. Gives off a sloppy vibe. I'd suggest walling it off so it's not exposed. My take away, they are one good hire away from the place being great. Just needs a great manager. read more

I live in NYC and this is the only spot in the the area that resembles a hip, posh, charming cool vibe. Not only is the ambiance amazing but the food, music and staff members as well. Charlotte, the cute sweet bartender is always welcoming and remembers your drink. Not to mention, the owners Rebecca and Ken are the the nicest and inviting and most importantly fun owners. I'm pretty sad to be writing this review as I've been wanting to go to Vine Alley for so long ( we have small kids so haven't had the opportunity to go until last night). There was a street festival so i think this place was busier than usual and our server was very up front about a long wait time for food. That didn't bother us at all. She was great and was really accommodating! What did bother me is that when our food came, they were out of ingredients that the menu said was to come with it. Then it was just a "nope we don't have that - sorry" after we were already served. I figured they would probably give us a discount on the bill or offer us a little something for the inconvenience. Imagine my surprise when I got the bill and it was actually even more than what jt was supposed to be. Apparently we had gotten an older menu with the wrong prices on it. When the bill came, the cost of our flight was $2 more than what the menu said. I didn't want to have to argue about $2 but honestly, $20 was already too much for the tiny pours of wine we received. They ran out of the bottle we wanted so offered us a different one - which is fine, but it's one I've had before so I was a bit disappointed to have gotten a night off from the kids, gotten dressed up and to have the same stuff I could have had at home. Also super disappointed that management didn't even try to make it right without be having to practically beg for my credits back (3 whole dollars). It's an ok place to go, but I'd rather get some wine from the beer and wine store, some cheese, fruit and charcuterie from Trader Joe's and stay in my own house. It'd be a whole lot cheaper and I'd be a whole lot happier! Will not be returning. read more
