What a fun place to get your karaoke fix in. It does help to have someone who speaks Mandarin though in your party. Make reservations in advance. I wish it was easier to find music, but I find if you do a search instead of using their charts you can find your songs. There is good catalog of English songs with some new latest songs. Haven't eaten here, but they have a good selection of soju and I like their beer towers. The room was getting really warm so they turned on the AC for us. You press a button by the door for service.

Excelllent for a late night meal. Fun place. Sometimes the Karaoke spills into the dining area which is abrupt if you're not prepared

    Beef noodle soup

This will be my third time coming here. Anyway, I came out for a friend's birthday event and decided to order a beef noodle soup. I must say, OH BOY!!!! I wasn't sure if I was hungry, but that was one of THE BEST beef noodle soup that I've ever had! Service and cleanliness is spot on as well. This is one of my favorite karaoke spot in the DMV.

My first 1 star. Wish I could give a 0 star. They charge you $6 for drinks that costs $4.5 on their menu. When we pointed this out, the owner was very rude and said that's the way it works there, and we had to pay $6 per drink nevertheless. Well I'm never going there again and that's the way I decided and I suggest everybody else do the same.

We three people sang from 8pm - 12am, got 10 bottles of water, no food ordered, and paid $160 in total. Medium price, neither too high nor low. Service was good. Toilets were okay clean. Ordering songs on app is really convenient.

My office holiday party in 2018!

The menu for East Grill Karaoke is the exact same as East Dumpling House, so I feel that my review applies to both parts of the restaurant. I've been eating at East Dumpling House since 2017, at least 10+ times total over the years. Their food is really fabulous with housemade dumplings and a big tasty menu. I've also held an office party of 50 people and a birthday party of 20 people with their karaoke rooms and had a blast! Great food, karaoke, and decor. They will even set up your room for the party with water bottles, extra cups, disposable plates for sharing/cake, and cutlery. As for music, this is a proper KTV joint with songs in Mandarin, Japanese, Korean, English, etc. They also have a beautiful bar in the front of the karaoke side of the restaurant. Just a couple of small cons: The karaoke menu takes a little bit of sleuthing to figure out, so don't be afraid to ask for help. Also, sometimes only one mic will work, so I think the mic connectivity could be a little better. Overall, the food is always amazing, and the rooms are beautiful! Highly recommended for parties and gatherings.

Here for Karaoke... Prices are CRAZY! Just asking for water, regular tap water is unavailable for karaoke. Customers have to pay $3 for a bottle of water. $3!!! No water is available free. The service button is useless... You have to physically have a person to go out and self serve.. I tried buying a bottle of water and asked for cups and they said that option is not available. Terrible. A bottle of liquor is like 120-200$. OVERPRICED! Yeah it is a karaoke place but for real tho. Rooms are decently priced. $60 for a small room for 2 hours. Parking: They offer 3 hours Validate Parking up front. Parking, no worries, there are tons of parking in the morning and afternoon. Room: (was in a small room) there are 2 screens. Decent. Sofas? Its on the wayyy too soft side. I sink in the leather couches. The pillows had a lot of dust. Overall this could be a better experience if everything was not overpriced, service should respond to the service button (it is there for a reason!) I would give 1.5 stars if it was an option.

This restaurant is the sister restaurant to East Dumpling House. They have the same menu. I'm glad they opened this place though. More seats for everyone who wants those handmade noodles, dumplings and amazing Chinese food! I also love that they have private karaoke rooms in the back. I have yet to try this, but I am really looking forward to getting a group together to do this. Definitely need a reservation for the karaoke rooms. Favorite foods here: Dumplings: My favorites are the pork and chive and the pork and sour cabbage. I like them boiled. My husband prefers them pan-fried. I also like the triple delight steamed dumplings. I love how the dumpling wrapper has the texture of handmade dough. The fillings are very flavorful as well. Noodles: Zhajiang mian! Can't go wrong with this classic! I also adore the pork chop noodle soup. The handmade noodles have such a perfect bite to them! Vegetarian: Eggplant in garlic sauce. Just like mom used to make! Meat: Lamb skewers! My husband eats like 6 of these with a bowl of rice. The cumin flavor reminds me of growing up in Taiwan. They come spicy though! So be sure to tell them you want it mild if you can't handle high heat!

The establishment was very well kept and clean from the entrance all the way to the bathroom. Parking was super easy since it's a paid parking but patrons could have their tickets validated for free. The private room 2 we reserved was very nice. The karaoke system was very easy to work with and the sound quality was amazing! The $30/ hr rent for the room we've got was the best priced amongst the others we've searched because the rest added more $ for the busy weekend accommodations. Not to mention the service was timely and our server was very accommodating and friendly. I would go back there again and to anyone who hasn't been here before and thinking of doing so, take the wonderful experience we've had and take the plunge on renting a private karaoke room at this establishment!

We've been here…read morebefore, enjoyed ourselves in the past, and came back expecting another great experience to wrap up an otherwise pretty great night. The atmosphere was fun, the drinks were good, and everything was going well until the last few minutes before closing. Around 1:55 AM, security came into our karaoke room and informed us that the venue was closing. One member of our group politely explained that we were in the middle of our final song and asked if we could have the remaining few minutes to finish it, since they officially close at 2. Security agreed and told us they would return in five minutes. We thanked them and immediately began wrapping things up. Unfortunately, only a minute or two later, a staff member entered the room, told us we needed to "get the f#ck out," and began shutting down the karaoke equipment while we were still finishing the song. When someone in our group respectfully commented that we didn't have to speak like that to us, the response was essentially, "I don't give a f#ck, I want to go home." As we were leaving, we also heard another staff member shouting at customers to get out, including comments such as "Goodbye, adios, whatever f#cking language you speak." Whether intended as a joke or not, it came across as unprofessional and unnecessarily hostile. To be clear, we completely understand that businesses have closing times and that employees want to go home at the end of a long shift. We were already preparing to leave and had no issue with the venue closing. The problem wasn't being asked to leave...it was the way it was handled. What had been a genuinely enjoyable night ended on a very negative note because of the attitude and language directed toward customers. It's disappointing because we had a great time otherwise and have enjoyed visiting in the past. Hopefully management addresses this, because a little professionalism and courtesy in those final few minutes would have left us looking forward to returning instead of reconsidering whether we will.

We loved her. We believed her. We would defend from the parapets. We would fly to the moon. But like all children, we grew up. Mother became imperfect, flawed, human. The newspapers were yellowed. The blankets reeked. We moved on. The Spire beckoned so like demons to a damsel we flocked. "Here," it said, "here you'll find it. Amidst the stones and sycophants, a darling little life dwells. Come, children, come." And we preyed upon the chance. We hacked through vines with machetes that read "Masters of Public Policy." The blade was dull, but we all had them. Surely El Dorado was around the very next corner. We'd spend nights in the jungle. Sometimes we called Mother. She'd mention the forts, the spaceships, and, for a time, we grew homesick. But we did turn that corner. There was no darling life. There was no El Dorado. What we saw was a microphone sprouting from the earth. We were suspicious. "Should we kill it?" one of the others asked. "Perhaps," whispered another, "But I'd rather we stab it with our steely knives--" "--but you just can't kill the beast." a third person finished. Sure. It was a bard's tale we were all familiar with. But why did it come into our heads now? At this moment? The machetes fell from our hands. We gathered around the microphone and a Great Song flowed forth. Then another. We bellowed tales and words that were not our own, donned costumes like so many players, formed alliances of respect and good humor. And while The Spire was in the distance, where it remains to this day, we found solace in the act. And sometimes, dear reader, when the group looks my way and I am handed the microphone, I think of the forts Mother and I would build, and of the spaceships we flew, and I no longer see the words on the newspapers. I no longer see the seams on the blanket. I become the singer of songs. The words are my own. These clothes are my skin. And I own a moment that The Spire cannot steal away. Also, it's really fun.

While folks at my table went with Tex-Mex options, I decided to go with a Salvadorian option. In particular, I went with the Sopa de Marisocos, which was served with fish, a whole crab, mussels, shrimps, clams, and eggs. I thought the 20 dollar price tag as pretty fair considering how much seafood was in the bowl of soup. Although I thought the soup should have come with rice, I did not realize that the soup was served with tortillas. I guess the tortillas were the rice substitute. Overall, I thought the soup was very delicious and seasoned very well. I'm glad that I followed the waitress' advice and went with the addition of cream to the soup because it elevated the soup's flavor. Besides the soup, I had my fair share of margaritas. I thought the margaritas were mixed well because they were not too sweet or acidic for me. Also, the restaurant has happy hour most days until 6 pm (or was it 7 pm?). I have to say that I must visit again, because there are a lot of things on the menu that I would like to try during my next visitS. Overall, I thought the service was impeccable. Our bartender, who later became our waitress, was very helpful in making recommendations and suggestions regarding the menu. Also, she was very patient because it took us a while to finally order food - although we did order plenty of margaritas while deciding on what to eat. The restaurant is a decent size with both indoor and outdoor seating. From the way the tables are arranged, El Gavilan looks like it is very accommodating for medium sized groups. The restaurant does have parking; however, the parking lot is a bit tight.
