Off the main road (Rt 17), we stopped here on the way to NYC. Little old in an old town. Small place. Food was okay. My wife sweet potato fries can out a little "well done", but they brought her another order. Service was okay. Can't say I would return but don't pass this way ever.

I stopped at Circle E Diner with some friends during a road trip across Upstate New York. We saw there were not too many options along the highway and we didn't want to delay our trip so much so we were delighted to see this appear on the map and just off the highway too. When we pulled up, it had that classic vintage upstate diner look in a small town. Seemed like half of this tiny town were all here inside the restaurant when we pulled up as the parking lot was pretty full, and inside most of the tables were taken. When we walked in, we were a bit confused on what to do since there was no one taking us to a seat or anything and eventually after a few min waiting someone was like "hey go sit over there" and then brought us out a few menus. The staff were not the friendliest with us, although it looked like they had a great relationship with the locals so it might just be that they are not to used to out of towners. Anyways, we were given the menu and your typical American fare. I ordered a fried cod basket because I was craving some fish for some reason. We also ordered some mozzarella sticks to share. Both my meal and the mozzarella sticks were definitely just frozen out of a bag and re-fried in house. They did not taste fresh at all, and had the very angular/flat appearance that those mass produced frozen foods have. My friends thought similar of their food although mine was definitely the biggest offender. All that being said, it wasn't too bad, just very mediocre. But, when you're making that trip, and you're greeting hungry, I'd say this is a decent place to stop.

This pumpkin pie is to go and the top is home made whipped cream.

Literally the biggest sandwich I've ever had. And damn good. Shouts to our waitress Ashley for holding it down! Get the turkey hero.

Go to Micky D's for breakfast instead! Waited twenty minutes to be served and walked out. They apparently prefer locals!

Stopped at this place after a long drive. Took a while to get seated. Good coffee but how do you screw up a waffle? Serve it soggy.

The exterior is misleading & easy to pass by if you're not in the know - don't let it fool you! Breakfast is only served on weekends between 8 AM & 1 PM & we just happened to be there. Service was extra warm & welcoming - we had our pup with us & it was a not so great weekend weather wise & while we offered to order & sit outside at a table as to not disrupt other diners, they managed to put us in their back room so no one had to eat out in the cold (Pepper can't write her own review, but she says thank you, two paws up!) While the menu is small, one item is better than the next & you can't go wrong no matter what you choose! Prices are reasonable for everything you get & in today's economy, it's a rare find! The apple pancakes were to die for & honestly, the biggest pancakes I've ever seen! Fresh biscuits with maple butter (YUM!) Don't pass up on the extra creamy & delicious chocolate milk! Seriously - can I get an IV drip of that? This place is the embodiment of farm to table (obviously). Zero frills, but full authenticity of a working farm. Wonderful place & wonderful people. They have lots of their goods for sale too, so you can take Buck Hill Farm home with you! We bought their delicious bourbon maple syrup, fresh herbal tea, hot sauce, & took some ribs back to the house to grill for Father's Day! Plenty of full & happy bellies even after leaving the farm. After breakfast, swing by the chicken coop & thank the ladies for the delicious eggs! LOL We hope to visit again next time we are in the area!

The space inside feels about as wide as a railroad car but as homey as a local gem can get. The menu reads like a classic diner's, with everything from breakfast to dessert. I ordered the Hungry Man Special, which comes with a stack of pancakes, two eggs, bacon AND sausage, and home fries. For $16, this was an enormous value and practically a wealth of food. My husband ordered the chicken salad, and they were more than amenable to his ask for grilled chicken instead of the menu-standard crispy. The chicken was tender and cut into easy-to-eat strips. Everything was well cooked and got to our table within minutes of ordering. Service remained fantastic throughout, and judging from the friendly conversations around me, it's clear that there were lots of regulars and return visitors. Definitely step in if you're in the area and in search of dependably good food.

My visit on August 30, 2025, left me with the kind of satisfaction that only a solid diner experience can deliver--one that makes you want to return just to try more of the menu. To start, the garlic bread with marinara was exactly what you'd hope for in diner comfort food: warm, golden-brown edges with just the right crunch on the outside and a soft, buttery center. The garlic wasn't overwhelming, and dipping it into the tangy marinara added that classic, crave-worthy touch. It was the kind of simple appetizer that sets the right tone for what's to come. The Santa Fe Wrap was a highlight--grilled chicken cooked to a juicy tenderness, paired with creamy avocado that balanced beautifully against the smoky bacon. The cheddar added sharpness, while the lettuce and tomato kept it fresh and crisp. It's a hearty, flavor-packed wrap that manages to feel indulgent without being heavy, something you could happily order for either lunch or dinner. On the spicier side, the Buffalo Chicken Wrap brought a zesty kick. The buffalo sauce was bold and tangy, just spicy enough to wake up the taste buds without overwhelming them. The blue cheese inside mellowed the heat, adding a cool creaminess that tied the whole wrap together. Each bite felt satisfying, with the wrap itself holding everything neatly--a small detail, but an important one when you're eating something saucy and bold. Service throughout the meal was friendly and efficient, with staff that seemed genuinely attentive without being overbearing. The diner itself has that cozy, casual atmosphere you want in a local spot--welcoming and lively without being too noisy. Value-wise, the generous portions and solid flavors made the price point feel more than fair. Overall, I'd give New Munson Diner a strong 4 stars--a reliable, tasty stop with plenty of menu options to keep you coming back. The wraps in particular stand out as fresh, flavorful choices, and paired with a shareable appetizer like the garlic bread, you've got yourself a diner meal that's both comforting and satisfying.
