I haven't been here in like 8 years. My best friend is in town and I was excited to try a breakfast or brunch place but she isn't in the mood for cutesy places. She said let's go to Circle G. Parking was on site, which was great when you walk in and seat yourself. We were greeted immediately by the waitress and the food came out relatively quickly. We both ordered the special that comes with two eggs, grits, bacon, and biscuits.

I knew this was going to be a great place to eat not only because my cousin recommended it, but because of the flow of people in and out of the place. Take out containers were abundant and diners happily cycled through the restaurant. The food was so good I inhaled it before I could think to take a pic. I ordered the fried flounder breakfast which came with eggs, home fries and a biscuit. All a much needed Southern welcome after my red eye flight from NYC. Wish I had room for the grits. The staff was amazing, friendly and attentive. Grateful the sweet tea kept flowing. Thanks for the to go cup! Can't wait to eat here again!

Collards, broccoli casserole (get this!) and Mac n cheese

Love it here. The service is friendly and familiar and the food is simple southern food done right at a good price. Don't miss the broccoli casserole on Wednesdays, limas on Thursdays or the Mac n cheese. The bbq is one of my go tos but the chicken and dumplings surprised me with how similar it was to the way my nana made hers. Just a bit of salt and a ton of pepper and the only thing missing was one of my nana buttery biscuits. Yumm

Fried chicken, gravyless mashed potatoes and collard greens

The chicken was tender, moist, and the skin was crispy. It was not greasy, which is a plus. The greens were good. Needed a pinch of salt, and a splash of  vinegar. The mashed potatoes and gravy was missing the gravy. ‍ The mashed potatoes were basic. The rolls, I did not eat them because I saw the guy picking up rolls up, without wearing gloves, and placing them in the Togo orders.  They have a decent size menu. I would probably give them another.  #chicken #friedfood  #goodeats  #instafood #foodblogger #foodstagram #foodlover #comfortfood #instagood  #cltfoodies #gratuityadded #fyp #foodiesofinstagram #eatlocal #circleg #homestyle #charlottefood #cltfood #cltfoodie #charlottenc #charlotte  #clteats #clt #queencity  #charlotteeats #charlottesgotalot #exploreclt

Here again because we enjoyed it so much when we were in town the last time. Food was on point and our server was great. Pork chops were good and the sweet tea was delicious. Can't wait to come back the next time we visit family.

Hot Roast Beef Sub which the meat looks old and the cheese not melted!!!

I was looking for a breakfast place but got here to late. I ordered a hot roast beef sandwich which I was not impressed with at all. The roast beef looked old and the sandwich was still half cold and the cheese not even melted. Why offer a hot sandwich when the cook does not care about the food. The waitress was nice but I don't like getting the check when you drop off my food.

Food is ok. The strawberry banana pudding is off the charts !! Service is decent. Ambiance is laidback and casual. It's a local, neighborhood spot.

    Salmon Patty, eggs, potatoes

Still on my quest to find salmon patties in this city, and somehow came across Circle G while heading to Stockyard(which is closed on Saturdays). The parking lot was packed so that was my sign to check the menu and wouldn't you know they have salmon patties! I called my order in for salmon patty, eggs, and homefries with toast. I was able to find parking on the side of the building toward the back while I waited in the car a bit for the order and once I went in there was another long wait as there seemed to be some chaos with sorting the to go orders. The food was good overall but the homefries were too soft and mushy for me but the salmon patty was not bad at all but that long wait may keep me away on Saturdays.

I had a Spanish omelet which was really good. It's a 3 egg omelet which means it is big. The salsa is in the middle and not on top. I liked it a lot. The waitress was able to get me Tabasco sauce which made me happy. The black coffee was average. The rye toast was okay. Wasn't Jewish rye but it was buttered. I requested sliced tomatoes instead of grits or hashbrowns and they did that at no charge. That's a plus. I had a side of livermush. It was $3.50 for one piece of livermush. Other places serve 2 pieces for less than $2. I deducted one star on this review for this reason. Overall, I would go back. Very good food and service.

There were several "reserved" tables that remained empty until after we had finished eating, so I think the restaurant could benefit from a better reservation system with more accurate buffer times to accommodate walk-in guests. To avoid the wait, we decided to sit at the bar, and I'm glad we did because the food was amazing. The fried chicken and waffles were perfectly seasoned, and the waffle had a unique texture and flavor that reminded me of a combination of a traditional waffle and a soft pretzel. The cheesy potato cake was absolutely delicious. The fruit bowl was also good, but I wish they had been a little more generous with the blueberry pudding. The shrimp and grits came with large tomatoes, which may not be for everyone, and my friend felt the dish was lacking grits overall. She didn't feel like she got her money's worth. Would I go back? Absolutely. My meal was delicious, and I can't wait to return and try more of their homemade, fresh dishes. I also think it's great that they partner with local farmers to help curate their menu.

I was very excited to come dine here but was left feeling very conflicted…read more On one hand, I had the best chicken and waffles ever. The chicken tenders were soft and tender, with a crispy and well seasoned fried skin. Not too strong, but just enough to really appreciate the chicken. The waffles had this really nice bouncy chew to it, similar to a mochi donut. Really enhanced further by the syrup and amazing texture difference when you get any of the crispy chicken over the waffle. But on the other hand, everything else we ordered and the service while we were there were lacking. We had a reservation for lunch on a Sunday, and were seated very quickly. But then it took a very long time for a waiter to come to us. Once the waiter did arrive, we weren't greeted or introduced, simply just a "know what you want?". On top of that, when asking what was in the quiche of the day and the market rate we got a "idk maybe 14 or 15" and then what we were told was in the quiche was just not true haha. We were told there would be some vegetables and cheese, but ended up with no cheese and a lot of potatoes inside our quiche. The food did come very fast after we ordered so that was a plus. I think the main reason this experience left a bad feeling was because the table next to us had the same waiter and got a completely different experience. The waiter walked them through the menu, told them about the history of the restaurant, and told them a completely different (but this time accurate?) price and contents of the quiche of the day! I'm glad the chicken and waffles were fantastic, but it is sort of hard to enjoy your meal when you see completely different service from your waiter just one table next to you :(

If you live close to the area, I would recommend taking an Uber or rideshare just to make things easier. The restaurant itself is absolutely beautiful. It is located inside a renovated old church, and the atmosphere is gorgeous. There is also a patio and a separate bar area. We arrived on time for our reservation and were seated right away. Our server, Thomas, was great and provided wonderful service throughout the evening. My friend had an extra dirty martini with blue cheese stuffed olives, and I had a Grey Goose Cosmopolitan. The drinks were excellent. For an appetizer, we had six raw oysters with a sweet honeydew and kiwi flavor. I usually prefer my oysters with cocktail sauce and horseradish, so this was something different for me, but I really enjoyed them. They had a really nice sweet and savory flavor. For dinner, my friend and I split the branzino, which was grilled with fresh herbs and was delicious. We also had the wood oven Brussels sprouts and the mac and cheese, and both were very good. Overall, the food, drinks, service, and atmosphere were all great. My girlfriend and I had the perfect girls' night out enjoying dinner, drinks, and catching up. I really enjoyed my experience at Supperland and would definitely recommend it.
