The service started off and ended up Phenomenal. All smiles - It smelled amazing. It was definitely an experience. Thank you Lawrence

This place has gone down hill, it's unfortunate. Came here during the week and it was empty and the host/server was not helpful at all. Told us to sit wherever we wanted (because the place was slow) Not a good start. Then did not ask or offer any suggestions or knew the menu. Received my meal and it was cold! Pancakes were cold! LOL I specifically wanted to try them and disappointed. Overall will give them two stars because the outside seating is nice. Waited 3 years to try them and unfortunately will not come back. Sorry guys!

We came here with a group of 3 for a nicer meal before a comedy show and had a blast! One of us is gluten-free and can sometimes struggle at restaurants, but Tupelo Honey had several clearly marked choices right on the menu. Our friend was thrilled to actually have real variety rather than just a plain side salad. We also took full advantage of their drink specials. The cocktails were refreshing and perfectly captured that summer vibe. The food lived up to the hype too. Everything came out hot and full of flavor. The quarter chicken was cooked just right and seasoned well. The peach French toast was covered in fresh peaches. And the mac and cheese has a little kick that really enhanced the side dish. The staff was incredibly accommodating and friendly. We had made a reservation but they were able to seat us right away despite getting there about 30 minutes early as traffic was strangely light for a Saturday. Highly recommend this spot for both the delicious food and the fun, welcoming atmosphere!

In NC for a conference and wanted to try something besides hotel food again. Found this place through Yelp, it was a 5 min uber ride from my hotel. It's located in downtown NC so consider that if you're driving and need to park. There is parking along the street if you can find it. Greeted promptly, not the most friendly greeting by the male hostess or manager though. I sat at the bar since I was a party of one. The bartender was much more friendly! I tried the spiked pink lemonade, not bad. I love comfort food so decided on the fried chicken with okra and mashed potatoes. It was good but not the best I've ever had. Definitely not world famous as the menu promotes. Pleasant atmosphere with a nice bar and patio.

Absolutely loved dining here. The service and location were awesome. I sat out on the patio and ordered the grilled chicken which was smothered with tomato and peppers with Mac and mash on the side. 10/10 delicious and not too heavy. The restaurant is modern but Comfy and my server was super sweet.

We had such a great experience! Matt was amazing server with great recommendations on what to get. I fully trusted my order with him and was so surprised at the taste. He recommended the sweet potato pancakes paired with the banana pudding and oh my goodness. You won't be disappointed - I'd not even like sweet potato that much. The vibe and aura of the space is amazing. Well lit, spacious and tall ceilings. It's the perfect spot for your Sunday brunch!

Had a nice brunch before a show here on Sunday morning. The restaurant is very bright and lively, and we were seated very quickly when we arrived. I love the charming decor and look of the place, very homey feeling right in the middle of the city. Our server took our drink order and gave us time to look over the menu. My choice is easy if shrimp and grits is on the menu, so that was it for me. We also had the chicken and waffles and the dish looked very yummy. The shrimp were tasty and the sauce has a nice kick from the chorizo. Really good. Just wish this came with a side veggie or a small salad. Some entrees come with sides, while others don't. Food is really good, place has a relaxing atmosphere and we had a nice experience. Will definitely come back again.

Tupelo Honey in Charlotte is an absolute must-visit Southern brunch spot, offering an adorable, cozy atmosphere and stellar hospitality that instantly makes you feel welcome. The menu features incredible, comforting dishes, starting with crispy fried okra with a spicy kick and exceptionally flavorful stone-ground goat cheese grits. The savory Mountain Morning Bowl is packed with rosemary parmesan potatoes and green tomato salsa, while the classic chicken and waffles seamlessly balance sweet and savory with honey-dusted fried chicken. Paired with creative drinks like the smooth blueberry cold foam cold brew, this quaint restaurant delivers a fantastic dining experience perfect for families and friends.

I've been to Tupelo Honey in Milwaukee before, but let me tell you... Charlotte? They didn't come to play. As our host Lawrence said, "they ain't got nothing on us," and he meant that. Between Lawrence and our server Ruby... maaaaan, my friends and I were DELIGHTED. We had a group of 7 and even with a change in our reservation, everything was handled with so much grace and care. From the moment we sat down, it was a whole vibe. The service was prompt, the food was hitting, and Ruby made sure every single one of us were absolutely satisfied. They were patient, super attentive, and we even had some real, relatable conversation that made the experience feel personal--not just like we were another table. 10/10 experience. I will absolutely be back to this location again.

The look of the place was very inviting. The menu was simple and everything sounded good. We tried the two different chicken sandwiches that had spicy in the description. Neither was particularly flavorful but the bread was nice and chicken was cooked well. The fries and macaroni and cheese were better in my opinion. I tried the Magic Lemonade which was interesting and tasted great. I found it a little pricey for what we got, but it would be a nice meeting place if you lived or were staying downtown.

If I lived in the area I could see my self frequenting this place. Large space, nice menu. Food was good, not great but worth a try. The service was very good. Prices fair. I suggest you give it a try

We almost turned around when we walked in -- the place was so quiet you could hear the ice melting in the bar well. But plot twist: give it twenty minutes and suddenly it's the spot. Either word spread fast, or everyone in town collectively decided to be fashionably late. My wife started with a Bloody Mary but swapped in tequila, because she likes her brunch drinks with a side of chaos. I went for something called "Blood in the Water," which sounds way more dramatic than it is -- basically a New York Sour with an identity crisis. Still, credit where it's due: it slapped. Now, let's talk food. My wife's sweet and spicy chicken was so good it could make a rotisserie chicken from Costco file for early retirement. The greens and mac & cheese were top-tier co-stars -- comforting, creamy, and absolutely enabling. I got the shrimp and grits -- rich, flavorful, and dangerously close to making me believe I have Southern roots. Could I have added hot sauce? Sure. Did it need it? Nope. This dish knew who it was and didn't need dressing up. And as if that wasn't enough, they've got happy hour from 4-6 every day, which feels like a personal invitation I fully plan to abuse. Bottom line: this place started slow but ended like a standing ovation. I came in skeptical and left plotting my next visit -- and maybe my next order of that life-altering chicken.

I know I made it look very pretty in my photos, but don't be fooled. Here is the complete review. We found the green tomatoes bland and appeared to have been frozen before being prepared. The "Gravy Train" with the mini biscuit was inedible. The gravy itself was OK. Nothing special, not one of the three were "great." But the mini biscuits were terrible, hard, dense chunks of dough. I ate one of them and discarded the rest. The "Chicken Ditch the Waffle" was equally terrible. Whatever they did to turn the biscuit into "fake" French toast is a 100% fail. They were as dense and unappealing as the mini biscuits. The chicken itself was fine. If I was only rating the chicken I'd probably give it a 3.5. The best dish was actually the "GOAT." It was served with a Standard biscuit which we thought was still too dense and dry. I recommend finding an independent restaurant that serves real, "from scratch" food. I should point out that the service crew in the dining room who delivered the food as well as provided cleanup and assistance, were exceptional. They were friendly, courteous, and focused on customer service. I'm sure they deserve more than they are being paid. It was obvious many of them were spanish-speaking immigrants. Not everyone in the restaurant treated them with the respect and gratitude they deserve. Here's the detail of our order from their menu. They even have a "Dietary Preference" menu (look for it online), with keto, gluten-free, and vegetarian options. Some servers aren't aware of this menu, but they will see it in their Toast device if they look for it. We have landed on a couple of favorite dishes that are repeats for us. I like the Spanish Omelet keto-style. Instead of a biscuit and grits, you get a half of an avocado (sliced) and a roasted tomato. The omelet is always full of flavor, and I love it. My husband's favorite is their White Chocolate Bread Pudding Pancakes, with bacon ($2 extra). Don't let the name deter you--these pancakes aren't too thick. They are slightly chewy, and the white chocolate whiskey sauce is amazing. He rarely uses the syrup! Ruby's coffee is always good and strong, and their service is great, no matter who you get. The service is always fast and friendly, and of course, the food is good! I started with the fried green tomatoes, and they were easily the highlight of the meal. They were fried so well and topped with bacon, tomato, lettuce, and a tasty remoulade. I'm still thinking about them honestly! For my entrée, I ordered the 3 Little Pigs Omelet. Unfortunately, it was a bit underwhelming. It was smaller than I expected and didn't really resemble an omelet. It was a little messy and slightly runny for my taste. On the side, I added a single pancake and a bowl of grits, both of which were delicious though. I had a good experience and will definitely be back. I just wish the omelet had been prepared a little better.
