I have received horrendous treatment from some of the employees at this store. One Sunday morning, I was shopping for some Half and Half. They didn't have any at the time. I also looked at some little packets of tissues, but decided not to buy them. Therefore, I left the store without making a purchase. The cashier then chased me outside and asked me to stop. He accused me of stealing the tissues! He asked me to empty out my pockets. I complied, and took out the contents. At this point, he apologized to me. I appreciated that, but I felt so humiliated by the experience. I have never been accused of shoplifting before. Plus, did he think I was public enemy number 1 for stealing tissues? It seemed so trivial. A similar incident happened to me at this location about a year later. After that one, I went on the Circle K website to complain. I only found physical addresses, so I wrote a letter and sent it via snail mail to the district office. I received no response. There was another incident last night. A friend of mine asked me to go there to get some champagne. She said she would go herself, but the late-night cashier doesn't like her and claimed that she was banned from the store. She gave me her debit card to buy the wine. When I was there, the obese young man was working behind the counter. I found the drink, and tried to buy it. I inserted the card in to the chip reader, but it wasn't accepted. My friend later told me she absolutely did have enough funds in her account. I tried the card again, and got the same result. Sliding the card didn't work either. The man said I couldn't buy it because it wasn't my card. I would have accepted that, but what he said next was a great shock to me. "I know her. She is banned from here, and now you're banned too." WTF! I didn't know how seriously to take that declaration. I certainly hope it's not true, as this store is where I do quite a bit of my shopping. It is only two blocks from my apartment, and easy to walk to. I don't own a car at present. There is a supermarket a few miles away, but it's difficult for me to shop there and carry home the groceries. Fortunately, there is another Circle K a few blocks away in the other direction. I will patronize that one, and boycott the other. Stay away from this inconvenience store. read more

Circle K delivers the goods (well, not literally), and I don't think they ever close. Chances are, they will have what you need. Use caution when visiting late night/early morning; this area gets a little scary. Lock your doors, leave nothing in your car, be aware of your surroundings, walk purposefully, and avoid eye contact. When I finished paying I told her she had the worst customer service. She again began yelling at me. Her make boss behind the counter began laughing. That's no way to conduct business. Decided to stroll with my neighbor to the liquor store I go to almost daily seeing the same employee on numerous occasions we sometimes laugh together engage in Smalltalk.I was reading the ingredients on a juice label and he saw me put one of the juices under my arm as I read another one I put both back I realized I didn't have my money on my person I wasn't intending to leave the house dressed in my pjs w/ no bra being "real" you can tell I was trying to hide my nips so thank you Mark the employee thank you for embarrassing me & accusing me of stealing juice & making me feel like a total lowlife piece of shit as I definitely did not steal from your store nor have I ever ! I have been living in this neighborhood for over a decade and I regularly frequent another convenience store up the street. but I'm now Going to go out of my way and drive the extra distance because of an incredibly friendly and warm associate by the name of Fernando. Stop by this circle k on the way to work or school almost daily. The circle K is located on the beginning of the Newport peninsula on Balboa. The employees for the most part live on or near the peninsula, and makes it a more local or family feel if you stop by often enough. The staff is always friendly and 24hrs a day they have all the munchies and drinks a human soul could desire. I'm a 7-Eleven girl at heart, and though Circle K had a lot of great snack options, the store just couldn't compare ... it was ridiculously freezing inside, the coffee looked like it was a week old and the hot chocolate was terrible. The night shit 9:30 pm is always rude, I'm in a power chair I asked for help with robitussin dm max non drowse this they don't carry it so I made a suggestion to talk to the owner to carry it then he went off saying i am always rude, I always say please and thank you never thou this guy is never nice. I asked why are you rude he said have seen I stand and walk unsaid I have seen me lean against my chair to get the money to pay what I owe. I asked for a pen and paper to leave a note for the owner and he said no I can call tomorrow but he refuses to give me the number! I guess this person hates to deal with disabled people and I have seen him treat transgender people very rude and I am transgender and I won't be rude because someone don't like me! So this place is really close to my work (like less than 1 mile) and it's a great place to go to if you need a quick snack or drink. I frequently go in here to grab a soda or chips or whatnot for lunch, and the staff is always friendly, the store is clean and they are always well stocked! read more

If I could give zero stars I would. After years of going to various locations, this is my only horrible visit. The polar pops are heavily advertised as 89¢ and we were charged $5 for two. The cashier couldn't even speak to us to explain as to why we weren't rung up the correct price. Asked to speak to a manager and was denied. No one answers listed phone number either.
