Funky way to tap to pay at pump. Either join their club or provide mobile phone number. Funky way to pay cash inside. Two starts.

This used to be a good place to stop in Flagstaff, but it doesn't appear that the rest rooms have been cleaned in 6 months.

They heard what I said, but gave something different. I ordered the sandwich with all the meats (forgot the name, had a D in it), an oatmeal cookie and a cold brew with cold foam and caramel, and a cup of soup. I received the correct sandwich and soup, but I got a chocolate chip cookie and a latte? There was no cold brew with foam, just everything mixed and was definitely a latte. I went back in to change out my cookie, glad I noticed it before leaving. A bit disappointed in the inaccuracy of my order. BUT they have great tasting sandwiches and soups. That I'll give them! This place is definitely 5 stars material, if the woman taking the order could get the orders right. I'd gladly come back again

The place has a cute lunchbox theme complete with old metal lunchboxes placed around. The guy at the counter was super kind and was bussing tables/ refilling drinks when things got slow. For $10.50 (!) I had 1/2 of the perky turkey sandwich and a cup of their white chicken chili. The sandwich was simple and perfect with good flavors. The soup was pretty amazing and piping hot! This will definitely be a place that I hit again and again!

They have a pretty extensive menu, with everything from breakfast items to lunch options, smoothies, and plenty in between. There's definitely something for everyone. I ordered from their 2 for $14 section, which included a smoothie and half a salad. I chose the Two 88 Shake, which does have a $1 surcharge, but honestly, I didn't mind one bit because this smoothie was SO GOOD! Since they're closed on Sundays, I actually ordered one to go for breakfast the next morning! That's how much I liked it. I'm not a coffee drinker, so I asked if they could swap the espresso for matcha, and they were totally cool with it. Love a place that's flexible and accommodating! For my salad, I went with the Harvest Salad and added an order of Beyond breakfast sausage for some extra protein. The "half" salad was actually a pretty generous portion, and combined with the full-size smoothie, the $14 combo was a really good amount of food. I was pleasantly surprised by how filling it was! My boyfriend ordered the Golden State Wrap, and he loved it too. He said it was delicious! The staff were all so nice and friendly, which made the experience even better. You order at the counter, and they bring your food out to you, simple and easy. Honestly, if I lived in Flagstaff, I'd probably come here every day. It's exactly the kind of casual spot I love, good food, plenty of choices, reasonable prices, friendly people, and portions that actually satisfy you. If you're ever in Flagstaff, MAKE A STOP HERE. You'll thank me! I'll definitely be coming back next time I'm in town!

We were greeted right away and seated inside, there is an outside patio. Our server was friendly, introduced himself, asked if we had any questions, took our beverage order and allowed us time to look over the menu. I ordered their endless coffee, my wife ordered a bottled coke that came with a glass and ice. As it was just after 10 AM, We decided to order breakfast. My wife ordered biscuits and gravy with bacon. This is served with two biscuits smothered in gravy with bacon crumbles sprinkled on the gravy and fried county potatoes. There is no strips of bacon, just a lot of bacon crumbles. The county potatoes are small (just about large cherry tomato size) potatoes that are cut in half and fried. The outside is crispy, the inside is soft and well seasoned. Perfect with the gravy. I ordered the biscuits and gravy with sausage that comes either in links or patties. I chose the patties and the addition of two eggs over-easy. The biscuits were crispy on the outside, soft and crumbly on the inside. A very well baked biscuit. The white gravy was seasoned well and delicious. One of the better tasting gravy we have had in a while, although I prefer a sausage gravy. The two sausage patties were properly cooked and definitely added to the overall flavor of the gravy and eggs (cooked properly). To me the county potatoes were the best addition to the plate as I used them to soak up the gravy and egg yolk after the biscuits were gone. I would have liked to see a larger portion of gravy and potatoes on my plate, as my wife's plate had more of both. Likely had to do with the two eggs that occupied real estate on my plate. The endless coffee stayed true to its name, I never ran out of coffee and there was both packaged sugar, sugar substitutes, three types of coffee creamer (half and half, French vanilla and Hazel nut?) Overall the service was attentive, friendly and the food was good and arrived in a reasonable time frame. I would definitely return to the Toasted Owl again.

I was visiting family in Flagstaff for the first time in many years. My stepmother and I love eating out. We had great food and great experiences the week I was there. Towards the end of my trip, we were looking for a place to have a late breakfast early lunch, also known as a brunch. We narrowed it down to two different places. The Toasted Owl was the one that we picked. I wish I could say, that we were able to eat what I heard was great food there. The hostess was nice. The on duty manager even apologized for the wait. She told me they're cleaning our table. Once we got to the table, my stepmom and I noticed, this was the wettest table ever. The menus were sticking to the table. No big deal, just a dry towel, and problem solves. I asked this young man as he was going by if he could get a dry towel because the table was obviously very wet. He said okay, came back, dropped a stack of napkins on the table. My stepmom and I both rolled our eyes and looked at each other. When he was coming back, I asked him what are the napkins for? He said they are for you to wipe down the table, and then he left. I looked at my stepmom as we both rolled our eyes again, and I said we are not eating here. I explained to the on duty manager why we were not eating there. She did offer to be our waiter, but I said politely of course, no thank you. We were both kind and polite right out of the gate. I'm wondering what was it about this young bus boy, who apparently just got promoted to waiter/server, he would have such an attitude towards us? I have my thoughts. But I'm not going to share them here. It's indicative in my opinion with what's going on with the problems in this country. People judge you for the way you look, or what you wear. But I wonder what it was, that this young man thought about us that he had to treat us the way he did? Maybe this restaurant caters to a certain type or class of people. Maybe we don't fit in that class? But who cares? I come from the school where everybody gets treated the same, with kindness and respect, regardless of sexual orientation, race, religion, political affiliation, and the list goes on. Perhaps, this young man can tell the owner of this restaurant, why he treated us the way he did? By the way, I'm being gratuitous by assuming the food is five stars, as that's what I gave it. I'm just calling the balls and strikes as I see it, one-star service from this one individual.

We ordered (Tapatio Enchilada, Burrito De Camaron, kid cheese quesadillas) a margarita and kid's meal. Food were excellent 10/10!! We were impressed with everything, bussers or food runners they were super intensive. We got our drinks refilled, our boxes and dessert ordered by one of them. Also ordered another margarita once we ordered a fried Ice-cream. We love this place, would go every once in a while, because their food is so good and my fiancée is in love with their margarita. But here it comes, we asked for the check from our saver. Everything came right, but last one was 18% fees which was $22 something. And on the bottom of the check said gratuity is not included or tip is not included (something like that, didn't think of taking a picture). So we asked the saver and he said don't worry we will fix it. We ended up tipping him $30 cash, which we could have given it to bussers or food tunners instead. My question is, was it really the system error or was it because we were Asian and people assumed we don't know English? We love this place, and we're local here and now we have to think twice before returning who would be our server. Double check your bill before you pay.

I waited at the window for a few minutes, even honked, and it still took about 3 minutes for someone to come back. When the employee finally returned, he charged me for the quesadilla and then handed me a tiny one that didn't match what I ordered. On top of that, he grabbed my phone to process the tap payment while wearing the same gloves he was using to handle food, then went right back to preparing food without changing them. That was honestly concerning from a hygiene standpoint. I opened the back and seen I was provided the quesedilla (attached ) At that point, I drove around and went inside because the situation just didn't make sense. I asked him why he felt it was okay to give me that, and I requested a refund. Instead of addressing it right away, he continued helping other customers. When I asked again about the refund, another employee responded with attitude saying, "I'm making the quesadilla," even though that's not what I asked for. I just wanted my money back. At that point, it felt like too much back and forth over a couple of dollars, so I let it go. But the lack of communication, accountability, and customer service, along with the hygiene issue, was really disappointing. Overall, I won't be coming back. Just wanted to share my experience so others can decide for themselves. Definitely see why they have two stars.
