I absolutely love love this restaurant- the food is amazing and always in point. Downtown Sarasota doesn't have amazing restaurants the food is ok at best but at CIRCO it is soo good all the time. Morgan gave me an awesome Smokey old fashion. You have to try this thing. Crazy!!! I sat at the bar and Julia honestly kept me there an hour longer because of how much fun I had. I had been to Circo on several occasions pre-Covid. The food and service always met my expectations. Today was different. The food was great (as always) but the service was awful! I would understand if they were packed but they had 8 customers, in 4 separate parties. The server took our order, brought drinks and food. He never checked on us after food or offered refills on drinks. We even had to get up and ask for our check because he was to consumed with whatever was on his phone vs the actual tables in the restaurant. I am also not sure if this is new but the dip doesn't come with chips. So, you have to purchase chips separate. While it's on the menu I didn't read the fine print. Why not just update pricing to include chips with dip? How else are people suppose to eat the dip, especially when no silverware is provided. After today I am moving Circo of my list of places to dine in Sarasota. read more

Chips are not included in the price of the queso/salsa, which is VERY silly and a really poor move. Tacos were okay, not great. Service was abysmal. We waited 30 minutes for our margarita "jug", and when it finally came it was the third time we had asked about it. The server then came over and asked if we were "ready to order" - when we had placed our order with him 30 minutes before when we ordered our margarita. 50 minutes after sitting down, we finally had everything at our table. It's an aesthetically cute spot in a great location, but they have serious kinks to work out. I won't be coming back until they do. There's way too many other decent places in Sarasota. read more

Although the service (Chris) was well done and the food taste delicious, the pricing is terrible. Their soda and beer machine dispenser was not working then our kids ordered bottle Mexican sodas called Jarritos $5 each. A house margarita $8 and the chips with guacamole $11 which is usually courtesy from the restaurant in other places. Normally, you order 2 tacos then be aware, they charge for each one so at the end you pay $10 or more for 2 tacos. A side dish rice and beans is served in a cup serve or 8 oz serve. Churros are not the long ones most people are used to. They are small ones for $6. T hey even charged $.25 for a bottle of water conveniently place on the table without us being asked for. Next time you go, order only the walking taco (really good) and tacos only because adding all you pay a lot of money for a simple food. read more
