AmAzing! The tamale cakes were delicious and covered in guacamole. The salsa verde was also very tasty. My husband got the gringo taco that he said tasted very healthy and fresh. He also got the ancho taco with the slow cooked beef that he inhaled. We didn't try the margaritas but I can only imagine how good they are! They also have a really good deal on Tuesday-BOGO tacos! Food was good, service was bad, management was horrible. We sat in the middle of the dining room, a server approached the table to explain their "text order" system and then we were completely ignored. The customers in the bar seemed to be well taken care of and tables that sat down after us in the dining room had servers and did not have to text order like we did and had immediate service as soon as they sat down. I had to go to the host stand to ask someone to get us a box and the check so we could leave. When a staff member stopped by with the check, we were given no itemized receipt and they had already selected the gratuity option of 25% without allowing us to change it. I emailed management upon leaving and requested a refund for the gratuity we were forced to leave because we had no service. The manager proceeded to explain that every other table DID have a server and if was our fault for sitting where we did (which was never explained upon arriving). She did say that our server was doing sidework and trying to leave (like that's a reason to ignore us completely) She said she would refund our gratuity only. It has now been two weeks and no such refund was made. I only asked for my gratuity back and the manager was rude, did everything she could to blame us for the bad experience, and then did not do what she said she would do. This place was so offensively sub par I cannot explain it. The ambiance is distinctly chaotic ugly and unpleasant, and it seemed like every server was avoiding us by silently putting down food and running away or bussing half full drinks and they were playing quite death grips in the background??? The tacos came out first with leathery shit flour tortillas and everything inside tasted like literally nothing. The Nashville hot tofu tasted distinctly like McDonald's actually because of the pickles. Then came out the greasy, hard, yet still flavorless tortillas with a baseball sized mound of unseasoned "guac". Finally, five minutes after we finished eating, our weak and sugary cocktails came out. I cannot emphasize enough that nothing tasted remotely like anything. This. Place. Is. Awesome! Johnny was a super attentive server, and the attitude in general is fun and relaxed. The guac with goat cheese is super flavorful, and the Southwest bowl is a winner. The bowls look smaller than you might expect, but I was barely able to finish mine (but pushed through because it was so good)! Got takeout from this place today. The ordering by text is a little awkward and not explained, but a server came over and very nicely explained it to me. Fish tacos were market price, so I knew I could be paying a little more than the other tacos ($7) but what disappointed me was the amount of fish in the taco. It was very small and somewhat dry. The falafel and shrimp tacos were both good, with the shrimp being the standout. We also ordered chips and queso. Queso was good but not great and the chips were too hard. The star of the meal was the jug of margarita. So good and well balanced! read more

Hard to spy from the street... just across 2nd street from the Whole Foods store entry. No great street sign. Went becuz of a review in the old fashioned newspaper ( gotta love the local paper!!) An ala carte menu tacos are $3.5-4 tasty!!! Needs a little more heat to salsas and queso. They have fire water that reminds me of the chIcago "giardiniera" to spice things up. However if you're not into caliente... you're fine. Margaritas are on the rocks and standard, interesting salt rims. Worth a visit. read more

Man, this place feels like it's home. The ambiance, atmosphere is just awesome. I ordered 3 tacos. Gator, Mongolian beef and Thai shrimp. I can't can't tell you all how good that shrimp was. Mongolian was amazingly good, the gator was also very well made but the shrimp was so good I thought it was fish. Spicy, tart, crunchy, savory, it was exactly what a taco should be. Cute place...Went for the first time to night...looked like a fun place. Sat in the bar area....service was horrible...there were 10 of us at a long table. Took forever to have someone take our drink order, even though the bar was right behind us. Finally we went to the bar and asked if someone could come over and take our drink order. From that point on, The bar tender only seemed to come to one end of our table, and forgot about us at the other end. Finally, some of us wanted food, which we had to go up to the bar and ask if someone could come over and take our order. The worse part, not one empty glass or dish were ever removed from our table until the end when we received our check. Great location for downtown dwellers, this new taco joint serves up delicious, original-flavored tacos. Mongolian beef, Cuban, edamame falafel, fish and chips, Thai shrimp--to name a few of the unique offerings on the menu. Tacos are ordered a la carte and served on metal trays. Homemade chips and something like 9 kinds of chip dips from a variety of salsas to guacamole's, and choice of two different quesos. Drinks are inventive and mostly bourbon-based. My husband said his Bourbon Revival was great. My classic margarita was fine, but unremarkable despite a great description on the menu. The boyrbon drink and my son's non-alcoholic cocktail came in glasses. Margarita came in a flexible plastic cup. The place has an upscale vibe in the guise of a casual-ish taco joint. Decor is soft couch seating and tables, metal roof tiles on the walls along with some modern-ish art. The place looked nice but the sports bar-like TVs could go, in my opinion. Theme seemed like it's not sure if it wants to be a chef-y taco joint or a sports bar. An odd mix, not sure how compatible those two experiences will be. Food was mostly really good. We had to request napkins and utensils which our food expediter got for us. The homemade chips and queso were not such an impressive start. Chips were a tad too thick. Queso was pretty but a little like hot, cheesy mud. Tacos were flavored well, temperature hot with a little spicy heat which was perfect as flavor booster, not overwhelming. Perfectly sized tacos with ample, quality filling. Variety of textures and flavors in each reminded us more of sushi hand rolls than tacos. No salsas needed on the tacos. They were designed to be delicious little experiences themselves. They were. Shells were a touch too thick and cool to the touch--my only critique. For dessert, we shared an order of hot churros that came dusted in cinnamon sugar and accompanied by a little plastic container of melted chocolate. They were a delicious end-of-meal indulgence. Recommend sharing as they are a heavy option, a little thicker than churros I've had before, but tasty! While the food really was yummy, service was not great. Drinks were slow to arrive, water for only 2 out of 3 of us, glasses a strange mix of both plastic and glass that didn't seem to have any rhyme or reason. Tacos served at different times. Our main server seemed pretty non-plussed. Our food expediter, however, was totally tuned in to the limp experience and went out of his way to accommodate us and acknowledge irregularities without any hint of ego. He seemed more experienced with restaurants while truly our server seemed to have only a vague idea of her role beyond the obvious order taking and check dropping-off. I would say she was somewhat uninterested in our experience with the food or the place itself. I realize it's a bit unfair to be too critical of service in a newly-opened place. I imagine experience will be a good teacher as the restaurant finds its place and its people in the downtown restaurant scene. Would be great to see Circo ditch the disposable serving gear. Maybe that was temporary until real stuff arrives, as our server suggested. Actually, I'm not sure if she even noticed she'd served us drinks in plastic containers. Overall, I recommend Circo. Give it a try. The Thai shrimp taco was the best. Good food! read more

An informative waiter would have warned a patron when ordering. For a Saturday night it was not busy as previous times we dined here. We found this place on Yelp on our way back to Miami while cruising through Sarasota. The place itself is a vibe, the prickly pear margarita was ON POINT and the taco options were off the charts. My husband and I tried the CobbTaco, Ahi Poke, Falafel, Gringo and Angus Beef. My husband liked the gringo best, I loved the Ahi Poke. My son had the Cinco burger and said it was great. I went in for a takeout order. A gentleman took my order at the bar after about five minutes Of sitting. Then he left and another person took over the bar. She cashed me out and I tipped over 20 percent that was not earned. I was told my the man that my takeout would be about fifteen minutes but they were busy so I wasn't surprised when I didn't get it in fifteen minutes. The second bartender came over after I had been sitting a while and asked if I needed anything and I said I'm just waiting for my food which she acknowledged. Fast forward I've been waiting for forty minutes and I ask about my order and the bartender tells me she doesn't know and that she doesn't have anything to do with takeout AFTER she cashed me out and told me to ask for anything I needed. I hear her go to the end of the bar and say she's cashed out but idk where the food is. After which I see someone run and grab my order and bring it over after it had been sitting on the server station for probably twenty minutes. No apologies or anything even though I had saw what just happened. I tried to find a way to contact management on their website afterwards but couldn't find that either. I am just very dissatisfied, especially given that tacos, bao buns, and fries are the kind of food you want to enjoy fresh out of the oven. I got home and opened the bao buns and the description says it comes with cilantro and pickled veggies. All it was was meat and raw carrots. Definitely not as described.
