I'll have to figure out when to come when it's not busy. Somehow managed it upon my first actual visit, but usually when I pass by (and it's open) Citizens looks jammed. Parking is pretty limited, but I've managed to find a spot on the lot every time. The layout is pretty open, and I'm a blue fan; but, I'd prefer to keep sitting out on the deck. This place will definitely be on the comfort food/brunch list. I enjoyed the classic breakfast with salmon, but my favorite is the oats and berries dish--Blueberry & Coconut Bircher Muesli. I definitely want to try the french toast my mom had at some point. (Syndney was a great host to us when Mom indulged on her birthday. ;)). We ordered the shakshuka and it was very good it was a bit bitter for me but that's how is supposed to be. The Bloody Mary was strong in terms of spice so I did have to add water to it. read more

The food was very good and the ambiance was good -- great place for a brunch date. However, the service was crazy slow. It took like 30 minutes to get our coffees and an hour to get our food. Meanwhile the parties next to us, who were bigger parties that arrived 20-30 min later than us, got their food way sooner. So I don't know if what we ordered just takes longer? I have no idea how this restaurant is so highly rated. What a disorganized mess! We got there before 11:30. A table was available but no one seemed to know how to clean it off. We finally got seated. Our server, Ollie, was not really interested in assisting us. It took forever for my friend to get her cold brew and it didn't have the half and half she ordered. Another 10 mins to get that. He seemed put out I wanted ice water. He then took my plate before I was done eating. We heard good things about this place and I wanted to love it but from the time we walked in me and my husband was completely ignored by more than 7 people before we were acknowledged and they were not busy. When we were finally approached the lady that approached us was nice and attentive. Our waitress was nice and friendly but she was manning a lot of tables for some reason. The food was pretty but ok. I got the original pancakes with a side of scrambled eggs. The pancakes came with strawberries, blueberries, bananas and syrup. The syrup was mixed with butter and it was a little too much butter which was off putting if you don't like a lot of butter. The pancakes were fluffy looking but tasted like a version of jiffy cornbread. I ate the fruit. The eggs were not scrambled really. I just felt like they put them in a bowl, scrambled with fork and put them on the grill but forgot to scramble them a little bit to cook the top of the eggs and then plated. The top of eggs was wet. I'm not a fan of raw eggs which happen to come out after I was done trying the pancakes and fruit. The ambiance was pretty in teal the music was perfectly light. It was my Birthday and I wanted pictures of all and everything that I ate it didn't disappoint in that aspect but they should water the plants. read more

All the food here was delicious! I came with a group for a birthday celebration, and I thoroughly enjoyed the sides we shared (fries), but the muesli was the highlight. Citizen All Dayi is an Austin Gem. My girlfriend and I decided to try this place after I saw it on yelp as a place that was close to me. We had never heard of it of course and we were very impressed with the ambience, food, drinks and especially the service. I tried to make lunch reservations but they were booked at the time that we decided to go, yet we went anyway. When we arrived the wait was more than 30 minutes as we expected. It's a quaint place with an amazing vibe. They play great music and the service staff is upbeat also. There were two available seats at the bar and we decided to sit there while we waited. We ordered drinks from a bar server that comes around to take orders from people sitting at the bar. They do have bartenders that are amazing I might add. I can't recall any names and I do apologize for that. We went on last Saturday and here it is Thursday that I'm leaving this so I will just reiterate that everyone that we encounter as a wait staff and bartenders went above and beyond by taking care of our every need. We ordered wings, a mocktail, and I got another beverage. Everything that we had was perfect. One of the male bartenders told us about Martini specials that they have everyday for happy hour and the first one is 99 cents. I've never heard of such a thing. We got one of those also. Then finally our table was ready and we got another amazing server that explained a lot more to us about the menu. We then ordered a salad to share along with two entrees. The bar server gave me two free appetizers coupons and I used one for the salad. The food was great and we enjoyed the vibe and the staff as well. This says a lot about the management also who thanked us as we left. We will definitely return and highly recommend Citizen All Day any day of the week. First time here we had terrible service - our waitress was constantly loitering around on her phone while our water glasses were empty, our coffee sat on the bar, and our food sat on the counter from the kitchen. Then she took her break and started eating her shift meal IN FRONT OF US at the bar while our food sat there waiting to be brought to us. Gave it a second chance today. Put ourselves on the waitlist on the way over. We walk in and the host (tall guy with dark hair) told the people in front of us that the wait for "first available" was 15 minutes. I walk up and tell him that we're on the waitlist. He tells me that I should have put myself on the waitlist in person because they prioritize in person parties and now we're at the bottom of the list. I ask if it would be better for him to take us off the list and put us back on since we're now here in person. In the most condescending tone he goes "Well you'd still be at the bottom..." Then why did you tell me it would be better to be on the waitlist in person??? I then ask if it would be better to move us to "first available" since he told the person in front of me that it was a shorter wait. In the same tone, he proceeded to tell me that the wait would still be the initial wait time since "the wait was 15 minutes for the person in front of you. Now it's 30 to 45 minutes for you... does that make sense to you?" Keep in mind I entered the restaurant prepared to wait the amount of time that I was quoted online. Any confusion about the wait time was a result of him telling me I shouldn't have used the online platform they subscribe to... The way he spoke to me was so disrespectful that we left. The banana bread french toast isn't worth an interaction like that. You'll also see that management replies to reviews with what appear to be very thorough (potentially AI-generated) responses. Don't put faith in those. The general manager (short, Australian accent, tattoos) was standing right there and watched the interaction and said nothing. What a shame. read more

We had to wait 45 minutes to get seated at a table, and once our table was ready, the guy at the front had asked me something but I couldn't hear him so I just went with yes, and so he took us outside and seated us there. THE FOOD TOOK 45 MIN, mind you there were other people that got there after us and got there food first when me and my friend both ordered the same thing. We were already hungry and we're so close to leaving but then the food got there and just ate it. Food was alright.
