Now in 2025, my insurance once again referred me to Dr. Ayoub's office for breathing issues. I was told it would take three months to see the doctor, but that I could see the nurse practitioner sooner--about a month out. I rearranged my work schedule for that visit, only to get a same-day call canceling the appointment due to an "emergency." Based on my past experience and the many similar reviews, it's clear this office is consistently overbooked and poorly managed. This isn't just inconvenient--it's dangerous. Every cancellation forces me back through insurance approvals and delays care I urgently need. If you value your health and your peace of mind, find another provider.

I waited over two hours without ever being seen. Despite repeatedly asking the staff when I would be called, I kept being told "a little bit longer." To make matters worse, I later realized that patients who arrived after me were being seen first--simply because they were returning patients. The office staff was extremely unprofessional and dismissive. They completely ignored the stress I was under and offered no communication or empathy. When I asked to speak with the doctor, he never came out to acknowledge me--not even a quick word to explain or apologize. Instead, the office manager took me outside, and instead of trying to help, she simply opened the door as if to push me out. This entire experience left me feeling disrespected, ignored, and mistreated. A doctor's office should value every patient's time and well-being, especially first-time patients who waited months for care. Unfortunately, this office showed me the exact opposite. I would strongly caution others about scheduling here. Professionalism, respect, and basic patient care were completely absent in my experience.

I go in and talk to Dr. Russell and mention that I have two moles that might be concerning. He says he's not sure what to say about them but would take a picture and send it to the dermatologist to look at. Then I get a bill for almost $200 from a dermatologist I never heard of for review the pictures. No one even called and spoke to me! Just sent me a bill. Also, maybe they should tell you that you'd get charged for that. Might be nice to know! 2. Went in the next year for my annual check up and told Dr. Russell that I would like to schedule an appointment to remove the moles even if they are benign. He told me "oh well we can just do that now". Of course I said oh okay great. Now I knew I'd have to pay for the removal obviously but then they billed my insurance for my annual check up AND another office visit charging me an additional $30 to the already $275.99 for the removal. That's two office visits in one! Monica, Claudiola, and another lady in billing won't even allow you to talk to a billing manager. I'm done. Taking my entire family back to memorial care because at least they are transparent and don't pull this crap.

I believe I have a primary care doctor who listens to me and makes the best decisions to help me overcome my health challenges. Dr. Whitaker also takes the time to respond to my non urgent messages in a timely fashion. I feel I am in good hands with Dr. Whitaker and the entire Edinger Medical Group staff. I was a college professor for over 30 years and had Blue Cross PPO health insurance the entire time. When I turned 65 year I chose United Health Care Advantage HMO with the Edinger Medical Group Network and never once regretted it. I am receiving excellent medical care. and feel like a lucky gal.

With the results, she quickly determined the root cause of my symptoms. It was pneumonia. She called and prescribed the medication for me as soon as she received the X-ray results. The treatment was very effective and I felt better after just 2 weeks. During this time, her office reached out to me after 1 week on the medication to make sure I am responding to the treatment. The HOAG hospital I just wrote a review on n rated it 5 stars is in Newport Beach, again maybe the confusion caused the low rating of the hospital too, maybe while it was merged under O administration, the service suffered but trust me, HOAG HOSPITAL is the CEDAR SINAI of Orange Country. This review is for the HOAG HEALTH CENTER (it's not called medical center as MC implies a hospital which this is not) terminology is important as it can lead to confusion, I think they should call it by its function, it's AN IMAGING CENTER! It's called health center bc of the urgent care wing. They deserve 5 stars folks! This is the only imaging center that had continuously traded in their million $$ Siemens imaging machines for new ones, I read they gave the "old" ones to Africa. You come here, you are guaranteed of the best and most accurate test results to help DR diagnose your condition. As a result of my husband misdiagnosis by a DEI Dr in another hospital, I'm keenly aware of how important every aspect of treatment is to stay healthy and alive. I have my yearly mammogram here, the facility is spotless and service was w a smile from every nurse I saw, the ultrasound was painless, FV hospital imaging center was a disaster, the US I had there took 40 mins vs 10 min here! Their DEXA machine was a medieval torture chamber, Hoag just bought a new DEXA machine, whoohoo! HOAG would make a CD of all your XRAY, Mammogram on request, no question asked, it's like pulling teeth getting anything done in FV hospital, btw, FV almost went under due to fraud so it was bought by UCI, so it's now owned by the county, I still don't trust it. Now all above descriptions were always the case except on 3-13-2025. So why do I not rate it 5 stars w all the above compliments? Based on 3-13-2025, it should be 2 stars but I'm always fair as it was a one off. Here are the reasons it was 2 stars today, I was there for a DEXA but they took me in for a mammogram, worse yet, they used another patient chart, 2 HUGE MISTAKES IN 1 DAY, WRONG NAME, WRONG PROCEDURE, the 3rd mistake was the scheduler did not tell me I should skip calcium supplement that day, as a result, they sent me home, I had to return the following day while I was in agony over my UTI and it was raining, I should have canceled the appointment. If any supervisor reading this review, please advise the scheduler and make sure whoever made the above mentioned mistakes not to do it again. I have come here for years, it's located in a beautiful strip mall, the building is so spotless, it has a patio, ample parking and today I noticed a Pharmacy, this Pharmacy was small but had all the fun souvenirs, greeting cards and a big selection of OTC drugs. Come here, it's almost like a 5 stars hotel lobby, the only thing I miss now, where are all the magazines? Please bring them back to make waiting more pleasurable.

I went to my first appointment with her and she was not nice, not caring and did not present Hoag Healthcare very well. When I asked questions, she dismissed them. She took 2 minutes to see me. I would expect that anyone who works in an Oncology department would need to be patient and caring. Not her. I complained about her, and she cancelled my infusion appointment as well as my labs just to be petty and immature. This is no way to treat anyone. She is a horrible person.
