The eyebrow waxing was horrible and I paid $14 just fir the eyebrow waxing she left so many hairs and did not pluck or use scissors to cut my hairs short. The pedi was okay. The mani was outstanding. Tina did my mani and she did a good job. I showed her a picture of the designs I wanted and she delivered. I will only come here when I want designs. Ombré shellac mani done by Michelle was awesome. She took her time and was very into the service. Provided feedback and suggestions on color combo as well as the design to give my mani the perfect pop. I absolutely love the end result. The compliments on my nails have been non-stop. :) The citrus pedi was just as great. The fresh fruit added to the water is a nice addition. Several sanitary touches to the service including a disposable plastic cover. All tools used are brand new and/or removed from sanitary packing and I loved the disposable callus file used. Unfortunately I didn't ask the pedicure tech's name as I was too engaged by the ongoing ombré shellac mani, which was my primary reason for coming. I scheduled a 6pm appt and was surprised my pedi chair was already setup & waiting for me prior to my arrival. They offered white wine, red wine, water, soda or mimosa. I choose a mimosa. If and only if I had to choose a downside I would have to say I don't particularly like having my mani and pedi services done at the same time. I usually like to read, scroll my social media pages or listen to music while getting a pedi but when your hands are being pampered you can't really fool around with your electronic device. Now I will added I scheduled 2 services at 6pm on a Wednesday and Citrus closes at 7:30 pm. This could be the reasoning behind double duty service or it could be their normal practice. I am so upset. I went to get my nails done here (not the first time & have never had problems) & we had the last appointment for the night & I could tell the girl doing my hands was rushing the whole time. She nipped me twice with the drill & then did only one coat of the color for my nails (normal is 2-3 coats). I asked her if she did one or two & she said one because she made the coat "thick" but by the time I asked, she was already putting the top coat on. While I'm looking over, I realize my nail girl started way later than my friend's & mine somehow finished before her's & disappeared the moment she finished. I hate complaining about businesses but it's ridiculous especially since I use to do nails & can tell when someone's rushing to get home. YOU GUYS NEED TO DO BETTER. Hands down my FAVORITE nail salon in Houston. I've been going for about 1 1/2 years and they have never let me down! Today I went in and got a shellac manicure by Vivian and a pedicure (I didn't get the girl's name who did my toes). Both did a wonderful job and were super detail-oriented which is HUGE for me. Vivian spent a lot of time perfecting my cuticles and the girl doing my toes did the same. I felt so pampered and important, as I always do when I go. As I was sitting, I also noticed how on it the manager was. She was constantly checking in on customers, making sure everyone was satisfied, and doing a great job especially with the salon being so busy this evening. They're pricier compared to a lot of salons, and I know sometimes that's a turn off for people, but I would happily pay as much as I do for the quality of artistry and attention to detail these men and women give at Citris! read more

I loved this place very much and truly ignored major red flags. I have been a loyal customer for the entirety of this year and will only say great things about Brian as I believe he is passionate about his job and a kind soul all around. However, in the past 7 months I only go when I have an appointment and generally I am sat down whilst soaking my feet on average or 45-60 minutes and have never complained. I appreciate Brian and believe the wait is worth it. However, today, as always, I made my appointment and showed up timely, when I was encountered by a young male who simply said sorry we overbooked you, the person didn't check the notebook and left it at that. He then asked if I could come back with an offer with no plan to make the situation any better. I left and didn't say anything else. I then went on their Instagram page thinking the manager would take action but it was seen and nothing else was done. I went to get a dip manicure before going out of town, and within 24 hours 3 of the nails had completely (and cleanly) just popped off. It was like I had press-on nails on. Within 48 hours, another 3 nails popped off. Again, this was not how dip usually comes off. It didn't life or break, the entire nail smoothly popped off with a light touch. I had to find a nail salon while on vacation to get a new manicure. The woman there was shocked when I told her it was dip. I called Citris and they could not find my ticket or visit in their system, but I do have the credit card receipt. They offered a gift card, but I really just want my money back because I won't be back to use a gift card. read more

I just left citris and I had such a pleasant experience! I went in as a walk in during my lunch break to get my acrylics removed and a shellac pedicure. Both of the women who serviced me were amazing and kind and this may be the best pedicure I've ever gotten! I'm rating my experience 3 stars however because the young man up front was very unpleasant and rude. He was very dismissive and made me feel as though I was bothering him by asking for my services and an explanation of my charges edite payment. I understand we all have bad days but it doesn't take much to smile and be pleasant, especially if you are the face of a business. read more

I've been coming to this nail spa for years, and to be honest I only come every once in a while to get ready for weddings, vacations, holidays etc. I've had amazing experiences specifically with Mimi a nail tech that really takes her time and delivers unique and artistic designs. The past few times I've been, however, have been super disappointing. It used to be incredible until the management changed and they had many new faces working there. I gave it a chance because of the convenience of walking in and it's also very close to my house. I had an appointment with Mimi back in November for my engagement party, and I waited an entire hour past my appointment time and never got serviced by her. I panicked because my engagement party was within the next few hours and still had to go home and change/host my own party. So instead of getting beautiful and unique nails that I was willing to spend $$$ for, I settled for whatever artist would take me and I chose a simple nude almond shaped nail with tips and dip powder. During my party I broke a total of three nails doing simple things like opening a window, and a soda can. (I've had long nails MANY times and I know how to be gentle with them) I actually could tell with the way they were being manicured during the service that they were a bit thinner than usual. I thought of it more as a courtesy to make my nails look more real than fake, but in the end they were so weak that I broke not one but THREE nails. They were nice enough to fix it for free the next day without charge, though! Last but not least-my most recent experience before leaving the country for Christmas, I came in for something pretty simple (I have attached photos of what I showed the artist and the finished product that I received) I asked for dip powder and they said they did not have time for dip at the moment so I settled for shellac instead. As I was getting my nails done I showed her what I wanted from the beginning and she said she was pretty confident she could do the look I wanted. I asked her about the color of the base of the glitter ombré (which was a pretty and translucent pink color that matched my nail beds) she said that they didn't have that color in shellac but they only had it in dip. So she gets up in frustration and she comes back with her manager and her manager panicking says "I thought you said you want shellac not dip?" Embarrassed I said "I'm sorry I just really like this particular color in the picture and she said she couldn't do it because etc etc. if you have something similar I'm okay with that too." So then they both spoke to each other and I didn't understand what they were saying and she rushingly continued my service with a color that looked nothing like the picture and didn't add the white detail in the picture either. The glitter looked like a 13 year old sloppily painted just the tips of my nail...also when I went to my car I noticed there was dried shellac paint left over on my fingers that I had to peel off later... sloppy!! I paid $60+ dollars and I even emailed the manager to explain my situation and didn't get a response back. I truly did not want to leave a review like this for a place that I've spoke so highly of in the past few years and I've recommended several of my clients to them, but I cannot support this business anymore, and I will not be coming back. Also just wanting to give a heads up for anyone expecting a spectacular service for an important event that this salon may be a waste of your time as well as a decently large disappointment of your appearance and bank account matters to you. read more

He could have told me from the beginning that they probably couldn't do it or that he expected it to be a while, instead of letting me wait so long. I let him know I felt it was poor service. The "twin owners" (I say this because the staff shared with me and to identify the legitimacy of my dissatisfaction) were arguing at reception with staff about time cards so loud & obnoxiously that I had to say "ladies this is unprofessional take it in the back" they continued. They used old nail files and pedicure was not relaxing at all. 1/2 way through the arguing continued across the room about "being fair on time cards" The owner or manager argued with my daughter & I about $20 more for shellac on top of basic pedicure + $10 to remove shellac (which was removed prior to coming in) My nail tech apologized but the damage was done. These 2 "ladies" have no business being in business as this is a basic principle. We as patrons aren't paying to be stressed out and hear the business problems. At check out the man asked " how was your visit " I responded terrible, absolutely terrible, he didn't listen or care or pay attention as the owner/manager was busy with door to door salesman selling a wireless business service and the guy needed her help on the computer. Apparently the walk in sales people were more important than the paying customer. When my daughter pointed out that her big toe nails were uneven and one noticeably shorter than the other, the mgr said, "yes, she has a different point of view " ahhhh ,ok ,well invest in glasses for her as they were visibly crooked and significantly different lengths. If you want drama, like to argue, get poor service, and don't like relaxing, this would be for you. Too many options in HTX. This was my second time visiting, but first time in a while. I remembered loving the pedicure, but my full set and nail design was forgettable. I decided to come back anyway for the deluxe pedicure because of how much I remembered enjoying it, and I'm glad I did. I had Danny do my full set and nail art, and he was amazing! He took his time with each nail, and made sure everything was perfect. He even apologized for taking long, but I didn't mind. The parking lot is a bit small for the amount of people that go to the surrounding business, but that's just in my opinion. As I walked in, boy I was glad to have made that appointment as it was crowded with people, but from what I could remember, even with that many people waiting, I was quickly greeted and offered a beverage. The downside I found out from this particular nail salon was that there was only one nail technician that was able to do ombre nails, so I had to wait an extra 10 minutes, which I honestly had no problem with as I wasn't in a hurry; though it did occur to me that if multiple people came in looking to get ombre nails, the staff would run into a problem. My nail tech's name was David and was one of the best nail techs I've ever encountered honestly. He was knowledgeable and continuously asked me what I was looking for regarding my full set without that air of annoyance that other people usually give off when I'm indecisive or clueless about something, which I was really appreciative about. First time here and it was pretty awesome. As you walk in, you can smell the citrus fruits right away. The waiting area is small but my friend and I didn't have to wait at all. We went at around 11:30 am on a Saturday without an appointment. 2 pedis and no wait. We picked out our colors and were seated right away. They had a big selection of Essie and OPI including glitters, so I was already impressed. I didn't see cheap polishes like sinful colors or China glaze that I've seen at other salons. I came here because of the good reviews and was attracted to the foot soak from the pictures here but I personally didn't get to soak for longer than 2 mins. We normally get shellac pedicures but because they're waterless, we weren't interested. I opted for the citrus pedicure for $30 and it came with cut/trim, cuticle care, scrub for the legs, hot towel, and leg massage. And let me say they were not half assed. Normally, all of that's extra on our side of town. They also didn't pressure me into any added services or judge me for it. I also noticed that they didn't line our tubs with plastic but they had it for a man so I guess it's an option. They're still very sanitary with disposable buffer pads, disposable toe separators (not tissue paper), sprayed sanitizer before polish, and saw her scrub the tub while I had my hot towel. I did want a certain design from Pinterest but she was hesitant and said she couldn't guarantee that they'd come out with sharp lines so I said never mind. I just got a different design and it was $7 extra. But if you check in to yelp, you'll get 5% off. So pretty impressed overall and will come back for a mani and pedi next time. read more

I've been here several times (the location is super convenient) and everything's been fine to average but after this time I won't be back. Paid $55 for a dip mani and left with 4 crooked nails on my right hand, one finger bleeding from over aggressive filing, and my cuticles weren't done at all. When I say my cuticles weren't done they weren't prepped or trimmed and I still have a few ragged areas which detracts from overall aesthetic of the mani. No cuticle oil or short hand massage at the end either. Rubbing oil into the cuticles and lotion onto the hands after all that acetone is a basic manicure, ESPECIALLY at this price point. Now part of this is on me for not inspecting before getting out to my car but I've never felt the need to inspect a nail professionals work before. I will now. I caught it when I got to my car and they fixed it to the best of their ability but you could tell he didn't really want to. Salty is a good word to describe the attitude and you don't have to say a word to be salty. This location is super busy and you can tell the nail techs are rushed, especially on a Saturday, which likely led to the experience described above. I'd like to think of myself as a well manicured person who enjoys quality manicures and pedicures especially. However, since my current nail salon is temporarily closed, this task has been quite the venture. With that being said, I looked this salon up on Yelp and google then I called ahead of time for a mani/pedi, only to be rushed out after my manicure. I'm not exactly sure why this happen but it did. I initially came in for cat eye nail but ended up getting a dip manicure with what seemed like halo powder over top. Initially it sounded like a good idea but turned out to be a clumpy lumpy disaster. The base layer was a beautiful opaque white and that's where it should have ended but I decided to continue on to see what the end would be and I regretted it. The powder was piled on unrealistically thick, caked at the cuticle and uneven throughout--It was unreal. The top coat was applied unevenly as well which created "waves." Afterwards I was rushed out without a pedicure. No one asked "how did it go or if I liked my nails." I didn't complain. I don't like to go back and forth with why, this, that and the other because going to the nail salon is one of the things I do often, to relax, not to tell someone how to do nails, who should know how to do that already. So I decided to try the dip powder manicure because it's supposed last for a long time. They looked great when I left The next morning, less than 12 hours later, the nail color fell off (like in a single nail shaped colored block on my floor). Frustrating-- but it happens right? So I go back that night and they fix it for free. I'm satisfied and think it's a fluke. Now I'm two days after the manicure--that oh by the way the dip powder manicure costs $60--and another nail fell off--another sad nail shaped color block on my floor. Now I'm leaving town and can't get it fixed. But more importantly--why pay $60 for something that immediately falls apart? So I just moved to Houston from Dallas (read: land of the $100 mani-pedi). I procrastinated finding a new nail place because my girl and I at my place in Dallas were madly in love (in the nail sense) and I am pretty sure we communicated telepathically (on nail related matters-if I wanted to know how her kids would doing I would have to use the old fashioned way and ask with my words). So, I waited until I was a few soldiers down (band aids-the lazy gal's manicure fix) and wandered into Citris appointment-free, embarrassed to show them the state of my full set. No wait. Ivy told me I would need a full set instead of a refill (I feigned surprise but it had been like, two months). She removed the few nails still hanging on for dear life- but very gently I must say. In many places you question whether or not they are trying to remove your fake nails or get information (DONT TAKE THE PINKY! ILL TELL YOU WHAT YOU WANT TO KNOW!) -this was not the case with Ivy. Also-no language barrier here. Conversation was nice and easy and I did not feel unsure that I was able to communicate exactly what I wanted. Something that I like about this place is that while you are already in your pedicure chair with that massage setting on that can only be classified as "violent, embarrassing shudder," they bring you the neatly organized binder of nail colors. You are not wading through bottles and trying to read tiny numbers. You just pick the color you want and voila. As a disciple of the Container Store, I appreciated this. Kimmie did my pedicure (I went for the basic because it seemed pretty pricey already) and I must say it was the best pedicure I have had in a long time. I have dancer feet with the jankiest toes you will ever see in your life, and when she was finished my feet resembled, dare I say, feet of a human being. She took her time and this polish has staying power. Thanks, K. Ivy also did a great job on my full set with shellac on top. She actually made them thin like I asked, rather than saying that she would make them thin and then globbing that powder on like there was no tomorrow (as I have experienced elsewhere). They look pretty natural and she was painstakingly careful and detail-oriented the whole time. At paying time I was well over $100 with tips, but these gals were worth it, and lets face it, I have been living in Dallas for two years so I don't know how much things are supposed to cost any more. I am just saying- if you want the cheapy cheap- don't go here, its not it. If you want to feel like Beyoncé because OMG they just put sliced lemons and limes in my pedicure water, please proceed. I went to Citris for the first time about a month ago, and this is definitely my new spot! It's clean, they're accommodating, and I've received great technicians/service. They also always offer a water, coffee, wine, or mimosa.. how great!! The first time I came in I had Leah for a pedicure, and I'm not kidding when I say it was the best pedicure I've ever received. I will always continue to ask for her until she is no longer available, it was amazing!! The second and remaining times I've come in, I got a pink and white. Ivy did AMAZING! I'm definitely particular about my pink and white, and Ivy is so meticulous she makes them look nearly flawless.
