On a recent trip to the Grand Junction area, we were looking for a fast and casual restaurant that provided an option for salads and happened to find Zoup. We walked in 30 minutes before closing and were able to get everything thing we wanted off the menu and the staff was still welcoming. They had a great selection of soups, and I was impressed with the option to taste the soup before you ordered it. I got the lobster bisque with a salad and it was the perfect sized meal for what I was looking for. The soup came with an optional piece of bread which was a great accompaniment. My "steak salad" had no steak on it, or crispy onions. NOT a steak salad. I had it delivered so I couldn't get it fixed.

It's not bad. But was also not really good. I tried the curry soup yuck. I had one bite and three it out. The sandwiches were just basic paninis with nothing special. I am a fan of Zoup. I've only ever done carry out for salads but it's been a handful of times. The chicken bacon Cobb and fiesta chicken have both been great. The ingredients are fresh and you get enough dressing. The price is on point. I've called ahead for pickup and ordered to go at the register. The staff is extra friendly. If you go in to order, you can sample the soups. My one qualm is that the environment inside doesn't have a good ambiance and it seems kind of dirty in the seating area. read more

My husband and I were heading to old Chicago's for Italian nachos, but decided we go to Zoup and get a nice big bowl of soup and a cold evening. A healthier choice. A cup of soup is close to $10 which is fine if it's fabulous. In this case it was not very good and today both my husband and I are sick. Have never been a big soup person and have never thought of it as more than a side. Whenever I drove past a Zoup I always wondered why someone would make a restaurant advertising soup as their title- because I've never once considered soup to worthy of being a main course. However, one summer day my roommate and his girlfriend went to Zoup and brought me back a small Tomato Bisque soup from Zoup. As a soup novice I expected it to taste like tomato soup. Instead I discovered a magical experience that changed my opinion on soup forever. You might think I'm exaggerating- but I'm not. In fact, I loved it so much I went out and ordered more then left this review. Now, for their other options like sandwiches and french bread sides- I was not very impressed while I might consider them "good enough" I would not get them again. Giving 4 stars because nothing subtracted from our experience but we also weren't blown away. We weren't even sure if they were open because it was so dimly lit. It was also pretty chilly inside (my husband's theory is that it makes people want more soup). The service was great, the guy at the register was happy to answer all of our questions and offered many samples. I got the tomato soup with the pesto cheese sandwich. My husband got the chicken pot pie soup with the same sandwich. Not that we each needed an entire sandwich to ourselves but it would've been nice to know in advance that we were only receiving half with our soups, especially since it wasn't super cheap. The sandwich itself also kinda tasted like it was premade and slightly heated up? I say slightly because the bread was cold and the cheese wasn't melted at all. The tomato soup was fine, not necessarily anything to write home about. We were also confused because my soup bowl was double the size of my husband's. I ended up giving him half my half sandwich. 3.5 stars for me. I ordered the half sandwich and half soup. For the sandwich I got pesto cheese and the soup was loaded potato. The soup was really, really good!! The sandwich wasn't bad either, but it was mostly bread. It had half a slice of white Cheddar and half a slice of Provolone, so in total one slice of cheese. I feel like if you're going to call a sandwich cheese anything, it should have a decent amount of cheese. With that said, it's expensive! I know, everything is expensive, but half a sandwich with one slice of cheese and a cup of soup with a drink was $20. I've given this place a chance twice throughout the past year driving to and fro form various road trips. Both times I've ordered chicken specific salads, of which the chicken had (as I'm sure was a mistake) been omitted. Quite frustrating when you're trying to get a quick meal. The first time I unfortunately missed out that I didn't have any chicken in my meal after I left the restaurant. The second go, I learned from my mistake, but should I have to remind the works to add chicken to a chicken grain bowl or a chicken salad?? Absolutely not. The portions are small and the quality is sub par. Quite disappointing considering this seems to be one of few healthy options for a quick bite in GJ. Like samples? Zoup has 'me. Like bread? Zoup has plenty of that too! Zoup sounded good on a chilly day & I don't often think of this place. Glad I did today. The place was pretty busy. There were about 10 different soup options, 7-8 salad choices, and sandwiches. There are lots of different soup choices, from vegan friendly soups to meaty soups. I chose the Spicy Crab and Rice soup which had shredded pieces of spice in a yummy rice broth. It was really nicely flavored without being too spicy. My husband was not a fan but after trying some samples, settled on the chili. He enjoyed his Steak Chili and actually could have chosen another 4. It's nice to have so many soup options when many places have like four to choose from...and the soup comes with your choice of a sourdough roll, multi-grain roll, or French roll. We both chose the choose 2 meal deal. I got the Chicken Tuscan sandwich to pair with my soup. A great choice. The provolone was nice and melted, and the basil mayo was delicious. It was a gooey sandwich and messy to eat but the flavors were good. My husband's Southwest Turkey was fine. Nothing spectacular. It's nothing fancy but pretty good. Wish the prices weren't as steep. Our team of 20 truly enjoyed our meal at Zoup! on North Ave. in Grand Junction, CO. We arrived at closing time. The workers were enthusiastic about getting our orders out quickly and correctly. When I called to ask if we could arrive again, right at closing time when our competition is over for the day, Pete was so agreeable. Terrible customer service and inedible food. The guy that took my order was extremely unprofessional. He was having an argument with another employee, said what's up to me after I waited 4 minutes, took my order, and while I was ordering, the female employee interrupted and they kept arguing. I thought my food was average, and this is a comparable spot to Panera Bread, but my side of bread was a little on the stale side, I don't believe they make their break in-house, unfortunately. I heard that the lobster bisque was fabulous and this was coming from a woman who's lived in Florida for the majority of her life (meaning she knows good seafood!). Today I went to Zoup to grab some dinner after my shift. I was sitting in the dining room eating my food and over heard a conversation about one of the male employees speaking with a customer about the male employees girlfriend testing positive for Covid. I was absolutely shocked that the staff was discussing this matter in front of the customers. As I continued to watch this unfold I was disappointed to see the manager not taking action and sending the male employee home who was concerned about a positive Covid test.
