Stay away! I was quoted $800 for a deep cleaning of a 4-bedroom home. The cleaning crew arrived at 9:00 a.m., and by 1:00 p.m. they informed me that only about 50% of the home had been completed and that they needed an additional $600 to finish the job. What made the situation even more frustrating was that I was effectively left with no choice. At that point, half of the house had already been cleaned, leaving me to either pay the additional $600 or have the company walk away with the job unfinished. As the owner of a property management company, I found this business practice extremely concerning and unprofessional. If the scope of work was underestimated, that should have been identified before the work began, not after the customer is already committed. In my opinion, this pricing approach feels misleading and unethical. I would strongly encourage others to get all pricing and expectations in writing before hiring this company. read more

We paid several hundred dollars for what was advertised as a deep clean, but the results were disappointing. After the service, the floors were still visibly dusty (see attached photo of a paper towel after wiping the floor), and we even found dirty dishes put back in the cupboards, not to mention other areas not fully cleaned. When we raised these concerns with the company, they refused to address them in any fashion--citing a policy requiring that any such issues be reported in 24 hours. Since this was our first cleaning, we didn't catch the policy when booking, and we were traveling over the weekend, so we couldn't have addressed it immediately anyways. Still, the company showed no willingness to make an exception or correct the issue. For the price charged, I expected a much higher level of quality and accountability. Well, here I am over four years later and I decided to take Citrus up on their offer to prove themselves. I was much happier with the service this time around. They sent two housekeepers for three hours. They did not quite finish in that time, but I was not charged extra. I pointed out a couple of things they missed and they were quick to clean them. The main difference this time is that a supervisor was sent at the end of the job, and she also made sure nothing was missed. (For whatever reason, there was no supervisor sent the last time I used them.) We hired Citrus because my parents were coming over, and my mom's expectations are always unusually high when it comes to cleanliness. Honestly, I thought we kept our house relatively clean until I saw the magic they worked on our bathrooms and floors. Apparently, we are filthy because I swear, the house has never looked or felt so clean. In fact, it was so spotless, my partner and I wondered if we should try to dirty it up a little before my parents came. We used Citrus Fresh for the first time. It was a pleasant experience. Our cleaning team worked hard and was friendly. I wish the reservation system was smoother with an app or self-scheduling. You have to contact them to set up your appointment. For our service a $95 deposit was required, but it's applied to balance after service is completed. There's a nearly 4% fee if you don't use Venmo to pay for service. Overall, I'm very pleased with the cleaning service and staff, just need a better scheduling and payment system. DO NOT USE CITRUS FRESH. I hired them to do a deep cleaning in my empty house before moving in. The day started when I was asked if I had a bucket because they forgot theirs. Afraid the job won't be done properly, I drove to purchase one (I was reimbursed). Their website listed deep cleaning of baseboards, light fixtures within reach, etc. My one light fixture was not touched and when I showed them the dirty baseboards, I was told "we tried and could get the dirt off." All it took was a little elbow grease. I left the house for a bit and was sent a text asking for extra time. I approved thinking it was needed, it wasn't. PLEASE USE ANYONE ELSE BUT Citrus Fresh!!! I am truly blown away. We have a last minute vistor coming to town, and around 11:30am, I tweaked my back while cleaning and quickly realized I had drastically underestimated how long it would take for me to get everything done. I called Citrus Fresh, and they got to me promptly at 1pm, as they were finishing a job at noon. Setting up the appointment was easy and painless! They were extremely responsive and attentive to our needs. Ana showed up with all of her own supplies, and worked so thoroughly throughout our house! She requested a little more time to finish the job, which was communicated to me in a way where I didn't feel pressured. Because everything was so well cleaned, I opted for the extra time and I am so glad I did. My mother, who is pretty hard to please when it comes to cleaning was left speechless. We have had a hard time cleaning lately so this was a big task. Every inch of our house was left in tip top shape, and Ana even mopped her way out the door. I highly recommend them to anyone. It was quite convenient to get an appointment. That said they have categories for cleaning and they do not have cleaners that are able to communicate when you want something different. This lead to work I did not want, work I wanted done that was unable to finish in the agreed upon time. When I complained about this instead of taking the high road and working with me they shoved the agreement (of which I did sign) in my face. I am in customer service and this is not the way to handle a disgruntled customer. The work was fine by the cleaners but the way management handled this situation would make it impossible for me to use them again or recommend them. We had a regular team of cleaners that did an excellent job. There were items misplaced which we had to search for but other than that the cleaning was top notch. We thorough enjoyed the service and I tipped them an extra $20 each time to buy lunch on me. We had our cleaning services cancelled various times due to under-staffing which is understandable and was most likely a result of Covid; however, on 2 instances they were canceled 1 hour before the scheduled service without any prior notice, which is not right. When our regular team of cleaners were not available we had substitute cleaners come and on both occasions the cleaning was extremely sub-par. The first time I did not say anything and was optimistic that it was a one time slip up. After the second time, I cordially contacted the owner and identified the areas that were not cleaned and sent photographs. Initially she was accommodating and offered a follow up cleaning free of charge; However, she changed her tune when the cleaners blatantly lied about the cleaning services they provided. I responded and proved that the cleaners statements were inaccurate and it was confirmed that shower glass, countertops, and various areas were left untouched during the 3.5 hour home cleaning. Rather than make the situation right and resume the service with our regular cleaning team, the owner decided to cancel the cleaning service in which I paid $308 every two weeks and cited juvenile, and in my opinion lazy, reasons such as "we are discontinuing services since we clearly are unable to provide satisfactory services to you" for doing so. The purpose of this review is not to blast the company because the service provided by our regular team was stellar, but rather to alert customers that if there is a discrepancy, and the cleaners decide to lie about the cleaning service, the owner may decide to side with the cleaners and suddenly outright cancel/discontinue all services. That should be a consideration when a customer is paying $7,392 (plus tips) per year for residential cleaning. read more

A final walk through wasn't done because we had left the house with our kids and dogs so the house keepers could do their job without distraction. I trusted them to be in my home do the job and leave when they were done. I was never told i had to be present for a "final walk through"...so don't lie. I'll be more than happy to post the texts between me and whoever is in your business office responding where you tried to guilt trip me by saying I'm taking money away from your employees by requesting a refund. I paid a lot to have you guys do a job you couldn't do and expect a refund so I can pay someone else to do it correctly. If you've never hired a cleaning service before, the biggest issues are always: 1. will they show up on time? The answer is almost always no. Worse off they rarely give you an updated ETA. This means you can't plan your day around it. 2. will they work quickly? If you are paying by the hour then this is problematic for all sorts of reasons, especially if you're not around to observe. I hired Citrus for the 1st time. Doing a move out of my apartment. But also to test them because I'm looking to hire someone on a recurring basis. Few observations: - their entire process beginning to end is amazingly customer centric and frictionless. You know exactly what you are getting. No ambiguity, total clarity. Fast communication. Everything via email. - They quoted me $402 for the move-out cleaning of a 1280 sq ft 2 BR/2 BA residence. Total bill up being $305. I share this not because this will hold true for you, but rather it's a relief to see the *actual* cost clocking in at under the *estimated* cost. It shows they did not milk the job for all they could. - They billed me afterwards using Venmo which I appreciate because it gives me optionality on how I want to pay without trying gouging me taxi-cab-style for using a CC. - oh yeah, and the quality of the clean was A+. AND they were on time. Amazing. I'll be hiring them again. I've hired cleaners before, and Citrus Fresh is how the experience is supposed to be, but almost never is. When looking for cleaning services, online can be the worst place to go. Especially since this is a word-of-mouth business. You need to know that the people coming into your home are not only safe, but also certified in knowing how to clean during a pandemic. I don't know how I came across this service. It may have been through Yelp, or maybe through Instagram. All I know is that I never have to worry about cleaning again. Not only do they do a great job, they clean things where I'm like: WOW. Avoid at all costs. This place has been raising their rates and service has gone downhill. Just two years ago it was $88/hr and now it's $142/hr. I ask for a deep clean and they only do a light cleaning. They miss appointments. There has been a change in management and since then rates have gone up and service has really declined.
