We purchased a Haier refrigerator/freezer (Model #: HT18TW10SW) from H. H. Gregg on 10/08/2013 for…read moreuse in my mother's garage (salesman: Phil). On 1/13/2014, the freezer compartment would no longer keep the contents frozen. A service call was placed through the manufacturer and on 1/15/2014 a technician from A & B Sales and Service arrived to investigate the problem. He stated the unit was functioning normally and wrote on the service ticket, "Unit needs to be in an area of controlled temps between 60 - 80 degrees to properly function." We called Haier and asked to speak to a supervisor. After two hours on the phone, the manufacturer stated it was not their responsibility to warranty a product that is being used in a manner inconsistent with its' operating instructions. We then called H. H. Gregg and spoke with a store manager, Ty, who stated he would contact their Haier vendor relations person as they were told this refrigerator is, in fact, rated to function normally in a garage and call us right back. After three days, we called back and spoke again with Ty. He stated there is nothing he can or will do and blamed the problems on the cold weather. When we asked for either a refund or a similar unit with manufacturer support for use in a garage, he refused. It is obvious that H.H. Gregg will tell you anything to make the sale and then refuse to support the product once their mistake is proven. As a matter of fact, they are still selling the same refrigerator/freezer to the public for use in a garage. In other words, let the buyer beware!!

I started doing my own research on the symptoms of my fridge, ordered a $35 fan and fixed it myself. Working fine now for months. Can't do anything about the damage, other than hope it doesn't decrease the life of my fridge. When I addressed the damages and misdiagnosis, he admitted it and agreed to make it right with me and do some work at my home to make up for it. I actually thought he had just made an honest mistake and was going to do the right thing...NOPE. He proceeded to ignore my calls and never get back with me. I would not use Broc Child's or KW Appliance for any repair.
