I had a really disappointing experience at Dickey's Barbecue Pit. From the moment I walked in, the place did not feel clean or well-maintained. There was trash left on tables, and the floors were noticeably sticky, which made the whole environment uncomfortable right away. One of the tables was also in very poor condition -- it was damaged to the point where it almost cut me and my friend. That's not just unpleasant, it's a safety issue that really needs to be addressed. The service made things even worse. The staff came off as rude and unorganized, and it didn't feel like there was any real effort to provide good customer service. Our order wasn't handled properly -- items were missing, and things were just thrown together without care. For example, we didn't get utensils organized properly, knives were just tossed into the bag, and my friend's gravy was completely forgotten. On top of that, the posted hours didn't seem accurate, which added to the confusion and frustration. As for the food, it was just as disappointing. The barbecue was dry and lacked flavor, and the mac & cheese was especially bad -- dry, clumpy, and clearly not fresh. It tasted like it had been sitting out for a while. Overall, between the dirty environment, safety concerns, rude and unorganized service, incorrect hours, and poor food quality, this was a very bad experience. This was a very disappointing experience. No Mac and cheese, no jalapeño baked beans, no baked beans, no unsweet tea, no sweet tea, no coca-Cola, and no ice cream. The paper towel dispenser in the men's bathroom was broken. The sauce for the meats were hidden away behind the counter. Ive eaten their food before but first time I've actually ordered food for my husband and myself. The sliced brisket was half meat, half fat. Give me another piece. 2/3 of the brisket slices had a lot of fat on them. I don't want to eat fat, I want to eat meat. The chicken breast had seasoning on it I guess but it smelled sour. The pulled pork was the best thing! Yum!!! I got green beans as a side. Good but too spicy. I would only go back for the pulled pork. This place should've just closed down. If you've ever been to Dickey's, then you know they are known for good BBQ, southern style sweet tea and that world famous ice cream machine. (Seriously) I've been to Dickey's in California all the way to Georgia. First off, I am a regular customer and have every right to be upset. The new management is horrible and very rude. I ordered online a few weeks ago and when I arrived in store to pick up my items they were sold out of everything. They didn't apologize, asked if I wanted to come back tomorrow and then told me I would have to be refunded online. Yep, that's right... I left without my food or money. On my next visit, yes... I was crazy enough to return. I was allowed to order in the store and then told they were out of everything except cheddar sausage, pulled pork and brisket. When I informed the new manager or owner that this happened a few days prior, he said you don't like brisket??? Basically saying I should just get brisket and shut up. Against my better judgement, I proceeded to order. I was ordering for myself and family so it was a large order. They told me I was ordering too many fries and they were going to sell out. (Not my problem, you're a business that sells fries) After ordering, I tried to get my drinks and the drink machine stopped working, but that not it.... they also ran out of sauce and only gave me one little cup. As I went to pay, they no longer have a real cash register. The guy calculated my amount on a calculator on his phone. I forgot to check my order before leaving. I got home and everything was wrong. WOW finally found a great barbecue place in Kennesaw. I've ordered take out from this place three times already. I tried all the BBQ meats on the menu and all of them were yummy! The meats are always moist. My favorites are the pulled pork, ribs, and beef brisket. I like getting the green beans and caesar salad as my side. I like the sauce station so people have the option to put however much they want on their meats. This is definitely more of a fast food place than a sit down restaurant but the quality of their food is pretty good. The service was great. The place was really clean. I came a little too early one day before they opened and the kind lady gave me a free fountain drink for my wait. read more

I can't speak for everyone, because there are a lot of unsanitary people out there, but hand washing is important around food. I watched the guy running the register touch money, trash and then food without washing hands. It just makes me feel gross. The food wasn't too bad, but it sure isn't worth me going back and contracting something. It's a requirement for employees to wash hands after using the restroom.
