My husband and I went to Ted's Montana Grill for the first time in Kennesaw and had a wonderful experience Wednesday, May 20, 2026. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by Krista immediately (who also turned out to be the bartender who made fabulous Margueritas) with a smile and an offer as to our table preference. We chose a booth and so glad we did. The booths are beautiful wood, high backs, comfy space and seating. We had the feeling of being in our own little world while also appreciating the friendly, open, clean, comfortable space of the restaurant as a whole. We loved the open kitchen and a view of everyone working to bring us our drinks and food at a perfect pace to relax, chat, eat and enjoy.Our waiter, Zach, had great timing throughout our meal. It was fun to watch him at a bigger table near us with adults and children having a celebration. He seemed to be enjoying them as much as they him. When my sons were young, waiters that included them personally in the experience meant a lot to me rather than talking over them or not addressing them. He was just as personable with us and it was sincere. He also was so helpful with our questions about the menu. We had never had bison before and Zach was detailed in his description, making that a clear choice for our meat. I had a bison filet and my husband a bison burger. Zach also detailed the different Margueritas when we asked and we each ordered and got exactly as he described it. We are going back and flipping our drink order because we liked them both so much. Shout out to Krista for a perfect, IMO, salted rim!The manager, Samantha also came by to talk to us and make sure we had a good experience. I had seen her in the kitchen as well, so I was impressed that she was a "roll up her sleeves and get in there" manager. Having had restaurant experience from the bottom to management myself light years ago I really appreciated that. She was delightful to talk to, sincerely interested in us as people as well as customers. Great sense of humor.Because we had such a great experience, we are going back there again this weekend. I obviously think anyone reading this should make plans to visit this restaurant in Kennesaw soon.I was able to express my compliments to the cook on our way out easily with the open kitchen design. Food is good, if you can get them to cook it properly. Went for dinner had to send back 3 bison steaks due to them being underdone (medium rare was the ask), it came still "running the prairies". Ordered the Knife & Fork Bison burger, also underdone (medium ask). Was out of Baked potatoes, no big deal got offered load mash potatoes, asked for no sour cream yet it came loaded with it, sent it back to receive another covered in some strange cheese sauce (didn't eat it). As good as it is, it's not worth food poisoning or wasting money. All meals for me end up half served and or not eaten. These were standard request. Until they find chefs that can cook properly go anywhere else!!! read more

My food was cold and I picked it up just 10 minutes after the order was fulfilled. They gave me old food. The fries were not fresh. The burger was very salty. I've never been to the any Ted's location but I read in the East Cobber magazine that they have the best burger in the area. Somebody lied. I hate being served cold food that is supposed to be hot. I like my hot food served hot. They put nothing on my burger--no ketchup, no mayo, and no mustard. I also had to dress it myself. I followed all of their instructions and was served my food like either it was trash or I was trash. I expected a much better experience. I ordered on their website. I hate paying new money for old food. Do better. read more

That outside the restaurant was nice and clean. Service was good when we first got there waiting to be seated the barely anybody in there I mean four customers that's it. We would've been number five. The host stood there for a minute. I asked him how he was doing fine he said just looking for where I'm going to sit you, I looked around the restaurant at all the empty tables and then proceeded to ask me do I want a booster a chair looked at my husband and said first available that's fine. My husband was looking around the restaurant like seriously there's all these open seats. Five minutes later he set us at a chair, the waiter we got was very good very attentive very nice. The restaurant was very clean. The restaurant very open welcoming the bathrooms were clean. The food was good but my bison brisket to me look like roast beef. my husband said his fish sandwich was good. He ate almost all of it, but one bite they gave us plenty of food. We definitely ended up leaving very poor. The margarita very sour you could taste the alcohol just pucker up sour like they squirted a lot of lemon juice or something in there. The chips and dip for delicious. The cucumbers were really good too. Everything else was cooked. Good you could tell the mashed potatoes real mashed potatoes big chunks of potato in it broccoli was cooked perfectly. Had a lovely time on our anniversary. Decided to go there tonight with a couple buddies, to raise a toast to the late Ted Turner, five years after saying that it would be a long time before I would go back. My proposal was to have a drink there and eat dinner elsewhere. My buddies misunderstood, so we had dinner there, a mistake. With an inspection score of 85, I wanted to be careful about what I ordered. I got the beef smash burger, which is always cooked to well done and fires, bot of which were fine. Unfortunately, one of the other guys at the table had grilled chicken breasts, which he had to send back as being dry and tough. The third guy at our table got a burger and threw most of the bun away as being stale. When the check came, I was charged for bison instead of beef. The server gave me some nonsense excuse but redid the check. Our server did not ask how our food was, and there was no manager walking around checking on things. It was a below average experience all the way around. I expect that, short of them honoring Ted Turner"s memory by bringing their inspection score up to an A, and getting some management presence, I won't be back for another five years. read more

We ordered a burger, fries and onion rings. Everything was cold. Fries were hard, onion rings were cold and burger was barely warm. Very few customers. Waiter never came to see how the meal was until he brought the bill. Then he argued with me about it. He didn't tell the manager and did not even offer to reduce bill. I don't give negative feedback very often but this was ridiculous. Won't be going back to Ted's. read more

Food was small price was big the chair was dticking in my back the whole time the only good thing was the service but i came for the food.

I went up there for lunch, and while it was busy because of college graduations going on down the road - I was still treated as the most important guest there and got everything I needed extremely quickly. Krista was the bartender, and she was fantastic. She had regular tables and guests at the bar too, and balanced between them expertly. One of the managers, Alex, swung by at least twice to make sure everything was alright. The customer service is terrible. Arriving the hostess said she'd clear the booth, after clearing she came back and we asked her why we weren't seated. Her response, " was I the one who said you'd be seated"? After several groups with reservations were seated she came back and tried to seat us at the booth right next to the Restroom and kitchen entrance (like a super highway). I asked here why we couldn't sit at the vacant booth she had cleared for us and she said something vague about being busy. We just left this crappy restaurant. read more

I was staying at one of the hotels in the area and wanted to try something I have never had, so I chose Ted's. I was pleasantly surprised. I didn't have much time so ate some food inside and then took some back to the room as well. I had a bowl of the bison chili and it was really good. Had lots of chunks of meat, and I got extra onions and jalapenos too. I also ordered the onion rings and they were perfect. They even had a mustard horseradish type sauce that was really good. The bartender was super nice. I got a chicken dish to-go but have not tried it yet. Based on the chili and onion rings, it should be good! read more

This place has fallen.. meh service, the bison burger had gruyere cheese and gor some reason they smother it with blue cheese as well, with a handfull of burnt fries. The ranch dressing has blue cheese in it, the bison nachos are greesy on top of overcooked chips, salmon dish came with mashed potatoes and brown gravy, and the burgers that come with ciabatta bread are minescule in comparison to the bread.. the Pickles and the beer were the best parts of the trip.. definitely won't be back... read more

My family and I usually frequent the location in the West Cobb Avenue, but visited the Kennesaw location for the first time this week. It was a bit disappointing. We didn't feel welcome at all. The waitress sat us, swung back maybe 20 minutes later to take our order, never brought us those fresh pickles even though I asked for them. I had my drink refilled just once. By the time we got the food, my plate was a little cooler than I would have liked it. It seemed it had been sitting under a heat lamp for a while. At the end, the server walked by and asked how everything was in passing before moving on quickly somewhere else. Finally, she dropped off the check without offering desert, coffee or anything else. I like Ted's but I'll likely stick to the Marietta location. read more

My family and I went to eat there and the only person hustling was the hostess. The place was maybe 25% full and it took 45 minutes to get a salad, some sliders, and a two medium burgers. Mine was extremely well done and I ordered medium and didn't have everything it was supposed to have, and my daughter's had toppings that she asked to no be on there. We took our food to go because it took so long and we had somewhere else to go. None of our food had a stitch of salt on it, and the fries tasted like old oil. I should have known better when this place was almost empty and every other restaurant off Barrett had at least an hour wait. If someone reads this, please make the petite hostess, I think her name was Raegan, a server. She's the only positive thing this place has going for it. Food was fine, not knock it out of the park. I ordered "brick chicken" this was not cooked with a brick for hours the old Italian way. Chicken was moist and tender but nothing more than a chicken breast I make at home. Ted, if u expect this restaurant to survive you need to bring in management that cares otherwise, your days are numbered, you are up against a lot of great competition in the area. Wow, things have really changed at Ted's Montana Grill and not for the better. Some good things were our server was very attentive, and did a great job! Our issue was with food quality. Three of us chose the meatloaf sandwich with fries and the meatloaf was only in the middle of each half of the sandwich. Which meant two bites with meatloaf and the rest was bread. The other two of us chose the fish sandwich which used to be our favorite ... not anymore. Again, all bread and small fish filet which was mostly breading. As we drove home we remembered why we hadn't been there in two years. We thought perhaps things had improved but sadly that not the case. In our opinion it's not a place we will return and it's definitely not worth the money. read more

I hosted a dinner for 8 friends. Started with Bison nachos. Good app for a group passed it around. 3 folks ordered the Bison meatloaf. They loved it. I tasted it very moist. One thought it was over seasoned and couldn't taste the Bison. Three ordered burgers and were happy. 1 ordered a burger and sent it back it was well done. I ordered the steak salad. Ordered it medium came well done. Sent it back. When I got it back the steak was perfectly cooked but I didn't have any Bleu cheese crumbles, oh and it comes with a balsamic glaze (you'll laugh) the whole plate had the glaze but none was on the lettuce. So busy decorating they forgot to put it on the lettuce, also it had no seasoning. WTH. The manager took $5.00 off our two checks. Thank you. I thought the server was doing ok until he dropped the checks before we'd even all finished. Never offered dessert or coffee. Folks wanted things but said oh well. He could have upped the checks and got better tips. I dislike when a waiter rushes me out. Teds used to be great. Now so so. I was disappointed. That's why they get 3 stars. Would I go back. Maybe for a burger. That salad used to be my favorite. Not so much now. I almost forgot 1 person did try to order dessert to go. Wanted cheesecake. Couldn't have it. They didn't have it defrosted. Teds is another one of my most favorite chains. I love Bison for its flavor and lean fat content. They have two burgers that I foam at the mouth for: the red rock and the Green and Hot. I love so many other items that are on the menu too, but that Z-sauce on the red rock rings my bell , it's a raspberry flavored sauce, that compliments the all the other flavor profiles on that burger and I always have them add more jalapeños and add avocado too!!! read more

Went to this restaurant for lunch with our company. The food was okay. The service was good despite being very busy and lots of people due to the big group. Ordered short ribs and it wasn't the typical slow cooked short ribs and was a very small portion but it was tasty. The desserts were delicious especially the brownie. read more
