I love Jim N Nicks. I haven't been for about a year and never this location. Here you order at the counter, pick your seat, then the food comes out. This may be how they all are now. I'm not sure. But their food is still very good! Their cheddar biscuits are amazing! I would say they are like a sweeter non garlicy version of Red Lobster biscuits. Loaded BBQ Baker is a must. I got the beef brisket, and the other was the chicken. I think the chicken was better. But either way, they're amazing and HUGE. You will be full with this. Have to get the lemon ice box pie. It's a nice light ending to the meal. I do wish there was more lemon flavor, but it was still great. read more

It always concerns me when there is only a few tables occupied at 7pm in what is a popular restaurant chain. Despite no crowd we had to wait longer than expected to have someone notice us and then seat us. We have eaten at a number of Jim N' Nicks. Always been good BBQ. This location was not up to their standard. The Brisket (we both had the marbled) was very dry. The beans were like out of a Bushes can. The onion rings were just ok. The best part of the meal was the corn muffins. Corporate needs to take a look at this location... I can't suggest this location. read more

I ordered a small rack of pork ribs. They were so salty. Burnt. Not falling off the bone. I had to cut the meat off. Hard burnt over cooked not good at all. We ordered the * Fried Catfish - sooo good and perfectly seasoned and fried * Pulled Pork- Tender and Tasty! * Mac-N-Cheese- Good. Not the best I've had but definitely better than most fast food restaurants *Greens - Surprisingly tasty to not be homemade! *Deviled Eggs- Simply delicious! Great open atmosphere with a casual BBQ joint feel. Service and welcoming are not really applicable as you come in and seat yourself, get your own utensils, napkins, etc. Ordering is at the counter where you also pick up your food and serve yourself. As for the food, it was quite disappointing except for the BBQ chicken salad and baby corn muffins which were both fantastic. Their specialty BBQ meats, we ordered pulled pork and brisket with sides of fries, collard greens, and Mac n Cheese. Sad to say, but I've had much better BBQ meats on the Golden Coral buffet line for a fraction of the price! The pulled pork was below average in taste and texture leaning towards the dry side rather than moist and tender. At least it was better than the brisket that was dry and chewy like leather with seeming no marbling in the meat. Even so, a slow cooked smoked brisket should never be so dry and chewy if done right. Their smoker cooks need lessons from the folks at Buc-ees gas station where we've never had anything but moist, juicy, tender, and flavorful brisket. Perhaps it was a bad day for them but if BBQ is their namesake specialty, we're saving our money and going somewhere we can feel assured the BBQ meats will be worth eating. With all the competition to choose from, Jim n Nick's had better step up their game! read more

Love Jim N Nicks! We live nearby and eat here frequently. Their cheese biscuits are amazing. Chicken wings and BBQ chicken are fabulous. They have a variety of delicious sides too. Of the many times I've ordered, I only didn't like my food once .... it was on Christmas Eve & they were swamped. We ordered the ribs and they were not their typical quality .... and we order ribs frequently and every other time they have been great! I have been here a couple times and I would say they can be a hit or miss. This time was definitely more of a miss. We ordered our food, got our drinks and sat down. We visited in December and the restaurant was blasting the AC so much that it was uncomfortable to eat there. We rushed through our meal to get out of the cold. When our food arrived, I would say the majority of our 2 of our meals, the meat was gristle/fat. We ended up sending back a sandwich. When they brought it back, it had less but still had some. In one of our other meals, they ordered coleslaw, which was served warm. Coleslaw should be served cold and therefore it was not consumed. To pay extra to get 2 sides in which one was inedible was not a good look. To pay around $40-50 for this meal...definitely on the expensive side to get mediocre food. I will say though the servers were apologetic, we just still didn't get "great" food. read more

Jim 'N Nick's is a dependable go-to for me for first-rate barbecue in my community. Food is a guaranteed success, and service is friendly and quick. Dangerously addictive cheese biscuits, warm and puffy and a little sweet, have me wishing for a whole basket for me alone! The pork and brisket are full of rich, juicy goodness at all times, with a perfectly smoky bite thrown in for added enjoyment. Sides don't miss, with rich and cheesy mac and cheese and collard greens with a perfectly tangy bite. The only reason for 4.5 and not 5 is that sometimes it can get a little crowded at peak times, but that's a sign of its popularity. Overall, Jim 'N Nick's is a great little local BBQ stand for traditional Southern BBQ that consistently delivers. I will most surely go for seconds! read more

It's still good food but since they changed the model it feels more "eh" The baked potato the other night was not GREAT. The potato was still a little undercooked but piled on with toppings like they wanted me to overlook the underdoneness. Their BBQ was still good though. My daughter gets the pork sandwich combo with fries. The pork was done well, the fries are really good actually. My son gets Grilled Cheese...cant go wrong with Grilled Cheese. But as not picky as he is, he doesnt really like the Jim N Nicks Grilled Cheese...not sure what it is. My husband varies what he gets, usually chicken with the Morgan White Sauce. He likes it a lot and is the reason we go to Jim N Nicks for their BBQ chicken and white sauce. One of my favorite places to grab a quick satisfying meal. The people that work there are always friendly. I like the variety on their menu. Sometimes we get food to go in the drive thru, sometimes we like to go in and eat. The pork plate with collards and mac n cheese is my favorite and I love the little muffins. Ordered a big catering order to feed my moving crew, and the food was outstanding! Large portions of tender, moist pulled pork, a huge pile of fall-off-the-bone ribs, excellent baked beans with big chunks of brisket, homemade super-cheesy Mac n cheese, creamy, mustardy potato salad (the way it should be!), delicious airy cheesy biscuits with honey butter, a heavy-a55 half-pan filled to overflowing with amazing banana pudding (damn near licked the container!), a lemon pie, and both sweet tea and unsweetened tea. They supplied us with a huge amount of both their traditional sweet BBQ sauce and their white BBQ sauce, plus plates, cups, silverware, straws, napkins and everything else we needed to lay out our feast. More importantly, their employees were friendly and helpful loading it all into my car. This was my first time in a Jim and Nick's and I was pleasantly surprised, even though I am not a huge barbecue fan. Even at dinner time on a Thursday the young lady at the register was moving customers through the ordering process quickly. The food and drinks came out quickly as well. The margarita was tasty and my ribs were really well-seasoned and delicious. The interior of the restaurant has a fun country feel. This was our third visit to Jim 'N Nick's BBQ in East Cobb. The service continues to improve. Our server, Shannon, was friendly and welcoming. She greeted us with a big smile and made eye contact. She was super attentive, and she anticipated our needs. She promptly provided soft drink refills. She brought freshly baked cheesy rolls to our table. The food was great. I ordered the beef brisket sandwich on toast with Mac & Cheese on the side. The beef brisket was tender and flavorful. The Mac & Cheese was moist and creamy. I would order both of these items again.
