Great open atmosphere with a casual BBQ joint feel. Service and welcoming are not really applicable as you come in and seat yourself, get your own utensils, napkins, etc. Ordering is at the counter where you also pick up your food and serve yourself. As for the food, it was quite disappointing except for the BBQ chicken salad and baby corn muffins which were both fantastic. Their specialty BBQ meats, we ordered pulled pork and brisket with sides of fries, collard greens, and Mac n Cheese. Sad to say, but I've had much better BBQ meats on the Golden Coral buffet line for a fraction of the price! The pulled pork was below average in taste and texture leaning towards the dry side rather than moist and tender. At least it was better than the brisket that was dry and chewy like leather with seeming no marbling in the meat. Even so, a slow cooked smoked brisket should never be so dry and chewy if done right. Their smoker cooks need lessons from the folks at Buc-ees gas station where we've never had anything but moist, juicy, tender, and flavorful brisket. Perhaps it was a bad day for them but if BBQ is their namesake specialty, we're saving our money and going somewhere we can feel assured the BBQ meats will be worth eating. With all the competition to choose from, Jim n Nick's had better step up their game!

I have been here a couple times and I would say they can be a hit or miss. This time was definitely more of a miss. We ordered our food, got our drinks and sat down. We visited in December and the restaurant was blasting the AC so much that it was uncomfortable to eat there. We rushed through our meal to get out of the cold. When our food arrived, I would say the majority of our 2 of our meals, the meat was gristle/fat. We ended up sending back a sandwich. When they brought it back, it had less but still had some. In one of our other meals, they ordered coleslaw, which was served warm. Coleslaw should be served cold and therefore it was not consumed. To pay extra to get 2 sides in which one was inedible was not a good look. To pay around $40-50 for this meal...definitely on the expensive side to get mediocre food. I will say though the servers were apologetic, we just still didn't get "great" food.

Does this location serve smoked wings? I didn't see it on the menu but I've heard from a friend in Alabama that they have them and they are good!

RC had approached her with a flier at a gas station, informing her that his restaurant had just opened up. Anyway, I'm ordering my meal, the same meal I always get each time I go. Fried fish (whiting), collards and the baked beans (unmatched). And he goes, "What would you like to drink?".... I'm like, "What do you have?" (Assuming the usual. Sweet tea. Lemonade... I was probably gonna go with sweet tea. ) He lists sweet tea of course, and then hes like, "Kool-Aid, coke, sprite" - IM LIKE WAIT. DID YOU SAID KOOL-AID?......... He's like, "Yeah??..." Im like, "what flavor???.... "Purple?...." I had never heard of that at a restaurant, and quiet frankly, that's all I needed to know. At this point, I literally go nowhere else for soul food. Also, RC is amazing. Really good guy, and his team offer the best service as well. A job well done, always.

Not fresh at first, but decent if you push for it…read more I was pretty disappointed with how long the chicken and chicken livers had clearly been sitting out. When I arrived, I grabbed a piece of chicken and it was already cold, so I decided to wait for them to bring out a fresh batch. Same thing with the chicken livers: cold and not refreshed the entire time we were eating. Near the end of the meal, I finally asked if they were planning to put out fresh chicken. I explained that I tried it when I got there (about 30 minutes earlier) and it was cold, and nothing had been replaced. The staff member said she could start working on some, so I waited. About 12 to 15 minutes later, they did bring out fresh chicken and fresh chicken livers, and honestly, when it's fresh it's actually pretty good. The mashed potatoes were another issue. They had a thick, crusty layer on top, and it looked like they dumped the old, dried-out potatoes from the previous pan over the fresh batch. I had to scrape off the crusty topping just to get to the fresh potatoes underneath. Overall, the food itself isn't terrible. The bigger problem is the way it's being handled. It felt like they were more focused on cutting costs and stretching old food than keeping the buffet fresh and consistent. My advice: if something you want looks like it's been sitting out too long, say something early before you sit down. If you wait, you may never see fresh food brought out.

Unfortunately, the experience was terrible from start to finish. We had reservations for 10:45 AM on May 23. Due to the rain, we arrived around 10:53, but some of the ladies were already there waiting. After being seated, it took about 15 minutes before anyone even acknowledged us to ask for drinks. We all ordered water... and then we waited. And waited. About 30-40 minutes passed without anyone taking our food order, even though the restaurant was not busy. We noticed another group who came in after us eventually just get up and leave. Honestly, we should have done the same. Around 11:30, as we were gathering our things to leave, the owner came over asking where we were going. I explained that no one had taken our order and that we were hungry. She convinced us to stay and brought out chicken croquettes and biscuits "to hold us over." The biscuits were decent, but the croquettes were not good. Then we waited ANOTHER hour. Our food didn't arrive until around 12:30 PM. During that time, my sister and I literally walked to another restaurant nearby, ordered food there, ate, and came back -- and our food had just arrived. To make matters worse, the chicken was undercooked. As shown in the photo, it was raw inside and dripping excessively. Absolutely unacceptable and unsafe. On top of all of that, when I went to pay, I noticed I was being overcharged. I had to ask for an itemized receipt, and suddenly the total dropped significantly. That alone was frustrating and unprofessional. The overall environment was also uncomfortable. The cook was sweating heavily over the food while talking, which did not make the experience any better. I paid for meals my family didn't even enjoy just to leave and go somewhere else to actually eat. The only thing decent about this experience was the homemade-style biscuits. I do not recommend this restaurant if you are expecting good service, timely food, professionalism, or quality control. This was my personal experience, and unfortunately, it was one of the worst brunch experiences I've had in a long time.
