The restaurant has undergone a renovation since I was last here. I like the more open spacing in the dining room. The service is still mediocre, but the pricing was great. I like that they've been able to keep their prices affordable as other restaurants have been increasing their prices. Weekend adult lunch buffet was only $12.99, and kids 9-12 are $9.99 and includes a beverage. The food selection is decent. It includes a soup and salad bar, fruit and dessert, as well as ICEE's and ice cream. The hot food was kept well stocked. Overall, given the affordable prices, I would highly recommend. read more

VOTED THE WORST GOLDEN CORRAL EVER !!! This is the WORST GOLDEN CORRAL BUFFET I've ever been to from Texas to Florida, Ohio to New york & many in-between. I was there Wednesday, lunch. Everyone was grumbling. Half empty fried chicken pan had been sitting a while(no breasts, just wet with oil legs and thighs). I asked a line worker for chicken breats, he said "20 minutes". Chicken tenders were dark meat only, small pieces & not crisp. Garlic bread(not toast) was sitting in oil. Tried the fried pork. Problem is they were cut very thin on one side & over one inch on the other. Needless to say, over-cooked thin one side, under cooked the other. Watching for the last 20 minutes, I asked again for chicken breast. Told it will be 15 more minutes. Last thing I will mention is the staff. Our waitress was over worked & very unhappy. My last experience at Golden Corral in Ft Myers was bleak. Lunch today exemplified the difference in quality between two restaurants that are part of the same chain. The food stations here are neat and tidy. Nothing looked wilted or spoiled. My friend said that her steak was delicious. I enjoyed fried chicken and salad. (Curiously, they no longer have field greens. Just romaine, iceberg and spinach.) The gentleman servicing our table was on the ball. I never saw an unsightly pileup of dishes. We were unhurried, and spent over two hours talking and laughing. While Golden Corral wouldn't be my top choice, it's good for people like my friend who can't tolerate spice, and for those of us who want to sample a little of this and a little of that. I don't eat that much meat, but I had some turkey and my luncheon partner had a hamburger that was tasty as was the chicken. I tested the fish. I tried all three kinds, deep-fried, baked, and a better coat of shrimp. All were very nice. The food I ordered was terrible. I had their fried shrimp. I was told they fried their shrimp using the same batter they use for the fish and chips. Apparently not. The shrimp I received had to be from the back of a food service vendor that sells pre-prepared seafood frozen. There is no way this was fresh shrimp that they breaded and fried in house. I've had Gordon's fisherman's frozen fish sticks that tasted better. I gave two stars because my wife had the country fried steak which was good according to her. We have been going to this restaurant since it opened and even when it was the Classic Country Kitchen before. I other bad thing is they have raised their prices by about 20%. I wish I could give myself a 20% raise and this happened recently. A meat and three kitchen should not cost 3 people over $60 with a tip. Lunch used to be $10.50 now it's 12.50 to 13.50. I say the food has gotten better. At least at this location and my visit for that matter. The food seems to be fresh and I like how they incorporated a bowl for the salads instead of the traditional plates. The shrimp seems to be fresh and tasty and properly deveined. They have two types of fried shrimp a jumbo (not that jumbo) and the popcorn shrimp are both fun to eat. The steak not the being best but they're not the worst. Although they seem on a rubbery side making them rather tough to cut through and chew but they're not the worst. They're marinated pretty well so much so I didn't needed to use any other sauces. I have always enjoyed their fried fish. I think they're fried whitings. I prefer them over fried catfishes. You can tell between the two types of fried fishes. The chicken tenders can use more flavors they pretty much have a bland taste to them. I say some bites have a bland taste and some bites are seasoned. These are just from my first plate. Second plate. I got mashed potatoes and gravy very tasty, fried okras which were hot and seasoned to perfection, Brussels sprouts were overcooked, corn can't go wrong with that, white rice not the best, more fried shrimps, and cabbages. The best time to come here is around 4-5pm when it's not as yet busy and it's not too late. When is late they usually pre-make a lot of their foods. Also you have more places to find a seat. This location always has very fresh foods and plenty to choose from. Their fried chicken is the best. You can tell because it goes fast and they're constantly having to replenish it. Fried catfish & hush puppies are great as well. We prefer to go on weekends for the breakfast buffet. Just had an excellent late lunch here. I wish I would've caught our waiter's name as the service was top-notch, but if you see a nice young guy (dark hair) with glasses, super attentive and polite - then that's probably him. He recommended staying for dinner, since it was almost 4pm and there would be no extra charge to have some of those new entrees being brought out, but my fiancé and I were too stuffed, we couldn't do it lol. I don't think I've been to a bad GC yet. My first was in Oshkosh, Wisconsin and second was in Duluth. The third was in Decatur, and this will only be my fourth ever. All have been good experiences for the most part - a great value and lots of options for everyone. My love wanted steak today and that was his main motivation for coming. Unfortunately, it was not going to be out till dinner time, but he enjoyed the pot roast they had. I had a little of this and that. All the dishes were seasoned well and everything was fresh - nothing was dried out or old, even though we came after lunch and before dinner time. I and other customers have asked for chocolate covered strawberries when the platter was empt, I simply asked the worker if she knew about how much longer they would take to make them since I'd been standing there for a while, she then gave me the nastiest look and said I haven't started them I have other things to do. First negative was the soft ice cream machine was broken and out of order the entire meal as a mechanic was working on it. Several of my team were not happy over that. Second - the man that cuts the Turkey is quite rude overall - he finally makes it back to the turkey - glairs at you - asks if you want turkey - then will not look you in the face and throws a big chunk of the turkey on top of the rest of your food!!!!! Dined at the Kennesaw, GA location with my Wife, son, and Mother-in-law. We were there about 4:30 pm on 6/14 to celebrate my wife's birthday, and Father's day. The restaurant was fairly busy, with the normal Saturday crowd. We found a table near the back of the restaurant, and proceeded to the buffet. At some point our waitress came by and put her initials on the receipt. Granted we never saw her, so we had no idea who she was. We were enjoying our meals and both my son an my drinks were empty. It had probably been 15 minutes since we began eating. We saw several staff members including what I would assume was a manager pass us, no one ever checked on us. After realizing that the young lady who had ben checking on the tables on both sides of us was our server, we asked for refills which she promptly brought us. After that, we never saw her again. I understand that they may have large sections, but you should at least check on your tables more than once in a 30 to 45 minute dining experience. The food over all, was delicious, and my family did enjoy it. But we are hesitant to return if this is the quality of the server staff here. read more

This places employees and it's management are at the bottom of a very deep barrel. I brought a party of 5 here, that was a fast $92. As I'm waiting to be seated an employee sees a group of 5 behind me that she knows and calls them to be seated in front of us while the manager watched.
