I was craving a deli sandwich for lunch and happened to come across this place while searching for somewhere new to try. What convinced me to drive through a rainstorm was seeing an egg salad sandwich on the menu--and I'm glad I did. The sandwich did not disappoint. The egg salad was incredibly fluffy, fresh, and delicious. I asked the cashier if they added anything extra like relish, onions, or other ingredients, and she said, "Nope, we keep it simple." That was exactly what I wanted to hear. The collector's cup was a nice bonus, too. This is my first time trying the Wichita location. I ordered the Mesquite Chicken Spud without bacon. It was good but could have used more of the chipotle sauce and a bit more seasoning on the chicken 7/10. The Ultimate Peanut Butter Cookie was pretty good 8/10. read more

Have been wanting to try this spot for a while, but I'm a reviews snob. Typically won't try a place less than 4 stars if I'm going for quality. Read through these reviews and held off for a while. Finally tried it out a couple days back. Ran into the infamous Kyle Bishop. Had a chuckle with him - super nice guy and the staff is awesome. They do seem like the type to match your energy and not get walked down with unchecked disrespect. So I'll assume those poor reviewers brought some bad energy.... Ate here for the first time on a Saturday lunch and wow, what a solid, tasty sandwich. I got the California grilled sandwich on sundried tomato bread. Didn't really pick up any sundried tomato flavors, but the bread itself was soft and not so dense that it still allowed the other ingredients in the sandwich to shine. Turkey, cheese, bacon, and avocado is a really hard combination to mess up yet this sandwich tasted a step above. Avocado was fresh, the sandwich was constructed with care and not slopped together, and they didn't drown it in ranch. The ratios of ingredients were perfect and each bite had a little bit of everything. Decor was odd albeit interesting, but I absolutely never choose a restaurant based off looks-- food is priority. The restaurant itself was clean and tidy. The icing of the experience was all the young people manning the register, window, and kitchen. They were all respectful, friendly, and attentive to their work. I feel like that is a dying thing nowadays. The potato salads, taste like store brought in the grocery store. Nothing special at all I would pass. The sandwich the bread was OK. Italian the cold cuts was so so to lower quality. What they call Italian is just ham and salami and it's not even very high-quality salami. And the ham is so salty. It's hard to taste anything else but the salt. read more

Came in to have a Friday night dinner and when we walked in the door they were rude from the very beginning, the first person that we saw was a blond girl with long hair that looked irritated to see us. Nobody was wearing hairnets with their hair down handling the food. We decided not to eat at the establishment because we didn't feel welcome at all when we asked why no one was wearing a hairnet manager Kyle Bishop got a HUGE attitude and stated that if we wanted to become a health inspector and set up a visit that we could and then asked if we were going to order. Honestly very disappointed as we are new to the area and felt very unwelcome. Definitely won't be recommending this place to friends and family. read more

I found a gem in Wichita, KS! So I passed by this neatly tucked away restaurant 3x before I decided to stop in. Let's just say I regret not stopping the 1st time. Everything was absolutely amazing. Staff had great knowledge of the menu and help me decide how to make the best choice. Food came fast and with great flavor. Once finished, I had to share my experience so I also took to go a Tripple decker sandwich, Mesquite chicken baked potatoe, pumpkin spice cookie, and classic peanut cookie for my parents. Small establishment in a small strip mall. Not the largest sandwiches but good size. The stuffed baked potatoes are the right size for us, not humongous like some places but plenty big enough to fill us up. They don't have a huge menu but they have a very good selection of sandwiches both hit and cold. read more

I've been here half a dozen times in the last couple months and love it. I used to own a Quiznos so I know what it takes to make a great sandwich. City bites is doing a great job in making great sandwiches. Today I went for the Fleetwood 12-in and boy was it good. The Fleetwood includes ground beef sausage pepperoni melted provolone cheese green peppers and black olives. Everybody was so good and just melted into my mouth, it was not a disappointment. Our first time in and it was great, both food and service. We both ordered loaded potatoes. I had the mesquite chicken and my hubby had the broccoli and cheese. Wow...they were huge and perfectly cooked. The outside was scrubbed with butter and sea salt added and the inside was melt-in-your-mouth potatoes, soft and not browned/burnt (2:30 in the afternoon). I have autism, the past couple times we were there the employees were rude and borderline hostile to us. We like to look at the menu and decide what we want, and they yell at us. When we calmly explain that we need a minute they then refuse to serve us and accuse us of being rude. Today we placed an order to be delivered and the food never arrived, and they refused to refund us. So, the employees here are not only hostile towards people with disabilities, but they are also thieves. Will NOT be doing business with the Wichita City Bites ever again. I think they do their own ranch and I love a good house made ranch. Alana had the veggie sandwich there, and I'm not sure if she enjoyed her meal as much as I did, but she did like it. Pretty decent food, about what I expected. I did have a 10% discount code, and thought it was still pretty expensive - large drink and a wrap was 7 1/2 dollars! The place was pretty clean, the person running the cash register was friendly and smiled, which I really appreciate. I thought the portion sizes are fairly small, but again, the taste was good. I go back again, but it wouldn't be my first choice. That being said, I'd prefer this over Subway any day. read more

One of our long time favorite casual dining. We liked the previous location (Brittany Square 21st & Woodlawn) better, but this location retains some of the ambiance. Today I enjoyed the smaller size Garden Gobbler sandwich and it was pretty good. I will likely order it again. I usually get other products like their tuna sandwich, their vegetarian, the City Burger, or even their baked potatoes. But I like to switch around and try other sandwiches that I've never tried there. They also have cookies - most piled high with frosting. Ah, longtime location, second time in. Ordered a "triple decker", pretty much a club. Great presentation, but with chips and tea....kinda pricy! Wow food is getting expensive. That $5 foot-long jingle in your head is pretty much a joke since Jared got an orange suite and a cellmate...urrrrrrr, back to City Bites..... Place was spotless clean, not that busy at 1:15 on a Thursday, but those coming in reminded me of the loyalty you get from a Barnard's or other locally owned joint, enemies thou this is a franchise. Overall it was an okay experience. It is expensive though. 12.00 for an 11" sandwich seems kindof steep to me. I ordered the California club. The flavor was good. The texture was nice. I would have liked to see it served warm. That might just be a personal preference. We arrived right before lunch rush. Service was quick and courteous. Overall it just didn't wow me at all.
