These guys are ok. On the plus side, they have ordering stations with iPads (it was unclear if you could customize anything, like ask for no bacon, etc.) and then call your name when it's ready. They're fast and moderately priced. The restaurant is very clean. And I believe the chain is Ohio (Toledo) based. On the could be better side, the food is pretty bland. I had to salt and pepper to taste much of anything. I got the avocado toast which was supposed to come with sriracha, which would have helped, but it was omitted. Also, do not bother with the juice. I paid $5 for an Orange/mango/pineapple juice and was thrilled when I saw how big the cup was. It turned out to be more like vaguely pineapple-flavored water. Husband and I went back to City Egg for breakfast this morning. Don't know why we don't go more often bc we both really like it, it's nice and clean, food is good and well priced, plenty of parking and easy to get to. Yes we need to come here more often. So I had the Wisconsin Scramble which comes with your choice of 2 sides of fruit cup, toast or hash browns. I chose toast and fruit cup and specifically requested no melon. I also ordered a side of crispy bacon. It's all ordered on a touchscreen, which is quick and convenient but as more and more businesses adopt this way of doing business, I fear it will throw us into another recession and get rid of many jobs. However, it works well here. So when our food came up, everything was exactly as ordered. I always love scrambled eggs with cheese and these were no exception. I could taste cream cheese (yum!), and a mild cheddar, I think, and the 3rd cheese was Monterey Jack and the combination was super good. It also had diced tomatoes sprinkled across the eggs, which was a great touch. We had been here before but I just didn't remember the portion being so small. It turned out okay tho, bc the piece of multigrain toast was a really good size, I had the fruit cup (pineapple chunks & grapes) and I my nice crispy bacon. The pineapple is the only thing that wasn't perfect. The taste was perfect, really good and sweet, not past its prime, but every single piece had those little sharp things you get when you cut too close to the outside skin. If you're going to cut so close, at least core those little hard things out! (See photo) All in all, the decor is really cute, the food came out as ordered, food tasted great, and it was a pleasant visit. Just before we were getting ready to leave, a young man came over and asked if he could clean our dishes. I said that's okay, we can get them & he said I'm glad to take them. I said okay, thank you and then asked if he had worked there for awhile & he said yes, and I said, I just wanted to tell you what a nice job you do keeping everything so neat and clean. My friend and I went to City Egg on a nice Sunday morning. When we walked in we walked over to the group of people ordering on iPads. There was a nice lady there that greeted us and was there if we had any questions. The iPads were an interesting touch. I personally like to talk to a person when I'm ordering to ask them questions and look over the menu for more than a minute. We ordered separately on the iPads and I think this was a mistake because our food came out at different times. They did however have Franks Red hot and some nice lemon and lime infused water. The food was very good aside from my fruit looking like it had been sitting out for a while. I got the cold brew and it was fantastic. Because there were photos on the iPad, which did nothing for us. Anyway, we had a coupon so we stayed and ordered. They call your name and you go pick up your food at a counter. The food was mediocre at best. I had the pancakes and a side of scrambled eggs with cheese. I make better pancakes and eggs... Overall, we will not return, coupon or not, and we'd recommend a more local establishment or making your own breakfast in the comfort of your own home as this one was not welcoming. read more

The hash browns were raw and the orange juice which was 6 dollars and wasn't even 5 oz, and it was full of pulp. It was pretty much undrinkable. The order of hash browns I ordered extra weren't given to me but I was charged for them. We quickly wolfed down the Westgate skillet and an avocado omelette, both quite good and plentiful. But who has time to enjoy the food when you know that when you finish, it's back to work as a busboy clearing your own dishes? We loved the place till we watched a cook walk into the men's room with his apron on and still had it on over his khaki pants when he left. REALLY?? Yuck!! I stopped by here because the reviews looked fine and I hadn't heard of it before. The place was pretty much empty, and the ordering process was pretty interesting - they have you order on an iPad and there's no servers there so they call you when your food is ready. Not having servers there also means that there's no regular cleaning of the tables. There was old syrup on my chair and my chair handle, and going out to eat should not stain your clothes. In terms of the food, it was alright. I got avocado toast and the eggs were decent, but not incredible. Hash browns were also decent, not incredible. If I could give this place zero stars I would. Don't get me wrong I love the food, however last time I was there. I overheard a lady in a black shirt who I'm assuming is the manager talk to another employee there who seemed afraid of her. She seemed very proud about her conversation. She had said she threatened a hispanic women about calling ice on her. In my opinion that is not very professional of a manager. I've been there a couple more times since the old manager left and she doesn't seem professional at all. I will definitely not return again and will be calling corporate. It's an OK breakfast place but I can't recommend it. There are several problems with the concept and design, the food quality is not enough to make up for the shortcomings, and the coffee is awful. You place your order on a Kiosk and are then directed to stand in a narrow gally and watch a TV screen for your order where you are summarily jostled by people refilling drinks and topping oatmeal. You cannot see the order screen from most tables. It's entirely possible to end up with a tray of food and no table. The portions are pretty modest but the food is slightly above diner quality. There is only one type of toast: a thick, soft wheat with artificial butter. I honestly would prefer White Castle for a counter service breakfast to City Egg. read more

I am so excited that a fast breakfast place opened besides Panera. Scramblers is the best breakfast in town so it is not surprising this new concept restaurant delivers! The parking lot was packed at 9 am on a Saturday but ordering was easy, food was fast, and tables were being flipped so quickly we had no problem finding a table. You order at a kiosk so I suggest hanging back to look over the menu before approaching the screen. It asks you a ton of info - apparently to save your order and create a rewards account. Employees were available to answer questions and guide you through the process. My one complaint is that the omlettes give you two sides and the menu lists 7ish side options but the computer only offers you toast, fruit, and potatoes. The employee admits that the menu is a little confusing. So once we ordered, we grabbed some lemon infused water and waiting by the beverage counter for our name to be called for coffee. A computer screen is also present at the beverage and food counter to show whose order is in progress and whose is ready, in addition to them calling your name. Easy and efficient system. I ordered the western omelet with hash browns and fruit. I was surprised by how fluffy the eggs were! Plenty of toppings and cheese. The potatoes were slight crispy and a large portion, very delicious. The fruit was mostly melon so I was underwhelmed. My husband ordered the avocado omelette which came with salsa. We both really enjoyed our meals and the service. I can't wait to visit again and hope they streamline the menu a little bit. read more

I am not at all a fan of the ordering process or the set up of the wait/drink area. The ordering process was slow and confusing. Best part of all - they got my order WRONG! When I told them it was not correct, the girl literally said " oh" checked my order saw it said no chives and said "I didn't even know those were chives. That doesn't usually happen." Then turned away and started working on the next order... um wait what? Never offered to remake or fix the order in anyway shape or form, just turned her back to me and started the next order! The pick up spot is low enough that children of 3 to 4 years of age could easily reach. This created 2 concerns First, I stood there waiting for my order and watched a little girl reach up and touch several plates. The girl working the counter asked her where her parents were, but that was it... she didn't move the plates back or remake the touched food... unsanitary food is one issue, but the little girl could have easily tipped a plate of hot food onto herself causing burns. The set up of this restaurant was very poorly thought out. The egg tables by the pickup area became twirling poles for children bumping into other patrons almost dropping their food and drinks. They also create an extremely cramped area. The food itself was good. We usually go to a sit down table service restaurant of good quality. Our bill is usually cheaper at said restaurant and the visit more relaxing with table service, set up, and not having to clean our own table off. It was a disappointment to pay more here and have to do all of the work except the actual cooking (and as I said above, they got that part wrong and didn't even offer to correct it) doubt we will be back... read more

Great concept for a breakfast place! You could definitely stop in here on the way to work and get a quality meal to go. It reminded me of a Panera-style restaurant, but with a very different atmosphere. They have a kiosk ordering system with standard hot breakfast selections. Their prices are very reasonable and the service was friendly and helpful. I had the avocado omelette and while it wasn't delicious, it wasn't bad either. The ingredients seemed very fresh, except the egg seems kind of pre-fabricated, like at McDonalds. I could be wrong, but it just didn't have that "fresh" taste. The regular coffee was also not very good, despite lots of cream and sugar. Maybe it had been sitting around for a while, but it was pretty bitter. The side dishes were delicious - hashbrowns, toast and fruit cup were all made with quality ingredients. 2 sides come with each meal. They have plenty of seating and we didn't have to wait at all, on a Saturday morning. There was a rush of customers after we ordered, but the line seemed to move very quickly.
